Madera, CA Sikh Wedding by Sohi Productions

We dive into the enchanting world of Jasmin & Karan's wedding at the lush settings of The Manor State. Each frame crafted by Bogdan Weddings complemented this narrative with photographs that are nothing short of poetic, encapsulating every moment in a manner that feels intimate and grandiose. Atal Aesthetics curated a day that showcased both the union of two hearts and cultural richness. The floral arrangements by ST Events and Atal Aesthetics adorned every corner, turning it into a breathtaking spectacle that echoed Jasmin's radiant smile, further illuminated by Kissed by Kaur's exquisite touch on her makeup and Mehndi Inspirations' intricate henna designs. Jasmin was a vision to behold, dressed in Pooja's Boutique's resplendent bridal attire, with LeFleur Jewels' glittering pieces accentuating her every move. Our spotlight shines brightly today on the magic woven by the talented Sohi Productions, whose lenses captured moments and the essence of their love story in a wedding film that promises to transport you into the heart of their joyous day.

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
We spent the majority of our time looking for vendors on instagram, Karan and I were interested in their work and instagram showcased it well. Honestly our vendors were so amazing, most of them I had never or barely even spoke too but they executed our vision beautifully. I hadn't even been to Fresno until the week of the wedding so I didn't see the venues until my wedding week alongside my guests.

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
Surprisingly, I chose both my Lenghas on the same day. My Anand Karaj Lengha was customized. It was funny because I was just changing colours and none of my family members really understood what I was doing, but when my lengha came in I was pleasantly surprised.

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
The most enjoyable part of the planning process was watching our families work together so that we could have an amazing week. Especially since my wedding events began in Canada, I have to hand it to all the ladies in my family for managing the kids, travel itineraries, and keeping everyone organized!
Watching my husband and my family come together to make our day so so special was amazing.

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
Our guests really enjoyed taking the go-carts up to the reception. Especially for all the kids, so we were very happy that our venue was able to offer those.

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
My advice to future Brides-to-be is to take all the help you can get and try not to get caught up in the tiny details. Remember to take the time to really enjoy with your families!
Don’t sweat the small details! Focus on enjoying and celebrating your day

Anything else you want to tell us? We'd love to hear all about your other details! (jewelry, mehndi, venue, cake, bouquets, etc.)
My mehndi was particularly special to me. I had the skyline of my hometown on one arm and the skyline of Fresno on the other. My Mehndi artist did a fantastic job!

We warmly invite all of you lovely Maharanis to check out our daily features. You'll enjoy them.

Riviera Maya, MX Indian Wedding by Ismael Gonzalez Filmmaker

Komal & Jagraj's wedding unfolded as a splendid tapestry of tradition, love, and elegance in the heart of the captivating Riviera Maya. The Sangeet at Generations Riviera Maya set a vibrant tone, with colors and rhythms that bespoke the joy of uniting families. Komal shone brilliantly, her laughter harmonizing with the festive ambiance. Transitioning to the serene El Dorado Royale, the ceremony and reception venues exuded sophistication and romance, each moment immortalized by Ismael Gonzalez Filmmaker keen lens. Alex Corbanezi and Styling Trio enhanced Komal's natural grace with exquisite hair, makeup, and Mehndi, ensuring her every glance was captivating. As Komal & Jagraj exchanged vows, their bond echoed with depth and sincerity, symbolizing not just a union of hearts but also of souls. The meticulous orchestration by Indian Destination Wedding, Inc. ensured that every guest was immersed in the warmth and hospitality that Indian weddings are renowned for—from the lively Sangeet to the final dance at the reception, each moment celebrated love and culture. It  was not merely a celebration but the beginning of a new, enchanting chapter in their love story.

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
Jagraj and I met on Tinder; however, we were mutual friends, which helped me decide to meet up with him. We met for sushi and drinks on a casual Saturday night. What was meant to be a two-hour date turned into five hours as we went to the bars around town. We hung out every week until I had to leave for my study abroad program. We talked on the phone every day, waiting to see each other again. I returned a month later, and he asked me to be his girlfriend. I knew he was the one because we had been inseparable since.

My best friend Alaina said she wanted to go out for drinks before my date night with Jagraj. I agreed, and she drove me to a cute Christmas bar in the city called Urban Roast. The place was decorated so beautifully with Christmas lights, decorations, Christmas trees, and a sign that said, "Kiss me under the mistletoe." As I walked in, I saw all of my best friends and his best friends holding roses. It took me a second to understand what was going on, but I caught on. Alaina proceeded to tell me something he loved about me, and then each one of our friends handed me a rose and also stated what he loved about me. They were all standing in a line, and as I walked by, I saw a giant "MARRY ME" sign with Jagraj standing with a bouquet of flowers for me. Jagraj takes my hand and says some sweet words to me, then gets down on one knee and proposes to me! He later takes me for dinner to a Lebanese restaurant called Ilili.

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
When it came to planning our wedding, we decided to take a trip to Riviera Maya, Mexico, to check out our potential resorts. We chose the Riviera Maya area to have our wedding, as it holds a special place in my and Jagraj's hearts. That was our first vacation together two years prior, and that is when I knew he was my soulmate.
We worked with Ateet Ahuja from Indian Destination Wedding, Inc. to plan all of this. We had four resorts in mind which would accommodate our number of guests. We selected Generations/El Dorado Royale due to its beautiful tropical scenery and its closeness to the town of Playa del Carmen - mine and Jagraj's favorite town in the Riviera Maya region.
Our overall experience with the venue and vendors was quick, efficient, and flexible; although there were a few hiccups along the way, we had the mindset of "we can't control everything," so it did not stress us out much. We looked at everything from the bigger picture. I found wedding planning to be more fun rather than stressful - as the resort handled everything in-house. I am grateful to the team at Generations/El Dorado Royale for executing our vision well.

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
I believe one of the things our guests loved about our wedding was that it felt like a giant rave. There was music, dancing, and entertainment every single day, and we received numerous comments saying our wedding was "the best wedding I have ever been to." The "giant rave" continued as we got party buses for our guests to take them for a night out to Coco Bongo, and they loved it. We were all on the big screen, having dance-offs, and they put our hashtag "#KomalFoundHerRaja" on display, which made the night really special!

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
The special moment for us was having our parents and grandparents with us, having a great time. We are blessed to have shared this occasion with them. There are family members who have never been on a vacation together, and this was their first trip. They shared how grateful they were that we decided to have a destination wedding, as it brought everyone together.

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
Soak it all in! Cherish the little moments with your partner, sing and dance your heart out with your guests and loved ones, and hold your close ones closer.

This wedding was a heartfelt celebration of love, culture, and the beginning of a new life together.

The bride's sparkling smile was rivaled only by the glistening bridal jewelry from Royal Designs JewelryHenna by Inder adorned our bride with intricate mehndi designs that told a story of love and tradition. In the spirit of love and unity, guests enjoyed an immersive photo booth experience provided by Another Level Parties & Events. When it came to dancing the night away, DJ Amrit DNA Sound took the stage, blending Dominican and Indian music so well that everyone was on their feet. As the lovebirds swayed to the music, Vero Life Studios captured the couple's love story with cinematic and photographic expertise that would ensure that every moment was cherished forever. Enjoy the film!

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
We met during COVID-19 after my groom decided to join me in the film/TV industry. The more we went out, the more I found that he was a gentle, kind, and funny soul - who loved people with his whole heart. The more we went out, the more I felt at home with him.

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
Harold's friends (who also just got married to each other) are a wedding videographer/photographer couple. They told me that they were going to film a wedding at Untermeyer Gardens, a place that is close to Harold and my heart, and wanted us to walk them around so they could scout the area in preparation for the wedding. Little did I know that it was actually a ruse for Harold to propose to me! We decided to be silly and take photos overlooking the Hudson River. When it was my turn, I was instructed to turn around and look out to the river. Once the photo was taken, I turned back around, and there he was on one knee!

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair and makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
Planning a wedding was no small feat at all. We opted for a smaller wedding rather than a larger wedding with 400+ guests. We ended up inviting roughly 150 people and kept our pre-wedding ceremonies very small to immediate family only.

Scouting the venues was a fun adventure. We went to Glen Cove Gurudwara, and they were very open-minded and kind about hosting an interracial couple. Our reception was held at Vista LIC, and they took care of us every step of the way - a big shout out to Bill Kennedy for going above and beyond.

I got my HMU done by Makeup by Saima; she was a godsend who kept me calm and collected and made me look amazing. Not only is she superior in skill, but my hair and makeup did not budge ALL DAY from 4A-11P. Even with an outfit change!!!!!

Speaking of outfits, I got lucky and found an outfit online from Kapoor Designers. My husband's outfits were purchased from Shingar in Richmond Hill, and they worked with us in designing a sherwani/western suit hybrid.

We kept our decor low-key and fun. The venues we chose were beautiful in their own right, and we did not want to take away from that.

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
I've known since I was a child that my bridal lehenga would be a traditional red. After getting engaged, I knew a trip to India would be difficult. After endless scrolling on Instagram for inspiration, I stumbled upon a beautiful semi-stitched lehenga from Kapoor Designers in Gujarat. I decided to throw a Hail Mary since the website did not have many reviews and lucked out with an absolutely gorgeous product!!!! I promptly got it tailored, and my mother stitched on some trim on the arms (I wanted them longer), which added a lovely personal touch.

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
I found the whole process stressful, but the best part was watching all the hard work pay off! The event went off without a hitch and was absolutely amazing.

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
A LOT. Most notably, our DJ (DJ AMRIT) was live mixing at our reception. It has been over six months since our wedding, and people STILL talk about how amazing the music was. He blended Dominican and Indian music together so well that the dance floor was lit the whole night!!! We also received a lot of compliments on food, from the breakfast and lunch at the Gurudwara (catered by Punjabi Dhaba) to the reception dinner (catered by the venue). It was flavorful and accommodated all spice levels.

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
Everything was amazing, but the highlight was getting married to my best friend.

For events other than your ceremony, please tell us as much as you would like about the decor, style, dances, and all the special details.

My chunni ceremony and henna ceremony were held at home with immediate family from both sides. My family had a small apartment, so we kept decorations minimal but effective. We placed colorful drapes on the wall and had Moroccan-style pillows all around the house so people could be comfortable no matter where they sat. It was a cozy experience full of love!

We had a combined Haldi/Jago/Choora ceremony at the Royal India Palace, where we invited a broader range of family and friends. Our Haldi and Jago were done side by side. All in all, it was a great time to get people pumped up for the wedding!

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?

Organization is key. I had a master Excel sheet that I created, which kept me on top of everything. It will be a stressful process, but know that once the day comes, everything will fall into place. Remember, the goal is to marry your partner, and as long as you accomplish that, the whole day is mission success.

Anything else you want to tell us? We'd love to hear all about your other details! (jewelry, mehndi, venue, cake, bouquets, etc.)
Jewelry - Royal Designers in Jackson Heights curated all my jewelry. They are a lovely father/daughter shop and have beautiful pieces!
Mehndi - Henna by Inder. She was sweet and amazing! Her price is very reasonable, and I am still in love with the design she created for me.

Darlings, I hope you enjoyed reading about our Maharani brides and their inspiring weddings!
