Calgary, AB Sikh Wedding by Michael J. Scott Productions

Michael J. Scott Productions never fails to create the most epic wedding films. Our eyes were overwhelmed by all the scenic beauty in this out of this world clip. Watercolor sorbet skies and purple mountain majesties framed Navneet and Abhi as they frolicked on the rugged terrain. The glamorous twosome held their beautiful Sikh ceremony out of The Sikh Society of Calgary followed by a reception at Civic on Third. The weekend unfolded perfectly, and Michael J. Scott Productions masterfully composed this film to capture all the most magical moments. Kesar Designs was bequeathed the very important task of dolling the bride up and not a single eyelash was out of place from the magic hands of this makeup artist. SK Bridal came on board as the mehndi master, and the bride’s intricate henna was carefully designed in a one of a kind pattern that added to Navneet’s shine. The main Maharani wore a gorgeous peach and gold dusted lengha and lux pearl accessories that were the epitome of elegance and class. The glittering and intricate design details of her bridal attire instantly caught our attention and we couldn’t keep our eyes of the bride in a single clip of this highlight. The reception event was adorned in blooms by Enchanting Floral Designs with Top Wedding Decor Calgary bathing each corner of the venue with the utmost in luxurious design. And of course with Pure Entertainment Canada at the turntables,  the night consisted of a packed dance floor and a rocking celebration. There’s way too much prettiness to describe, so sit back, relax, and watch Navneet and Abhi’s special day unfold.

So stunning right? We'll bring you another gorg wedding film bright and early tomorrow morning!

We hope you all had the most fabulous Fourth of July! We know that some of you may be exhausted after yesterday’s festive outings, so we have the perfect clip to pep you up! Photographick Studios brings us a gorgeous video from Arlington, VA featuring the lovely Puneet and Karan. They're such a joyful duo, and we believe that their zest for life will take them to great heights together. This clip is a perfect example of why we love Indian weddings so much! Everything from the delectable food by Indaroma and melodies by DCs Dynasty had us buzzing with excitement. As Karan waited under the mandap with restless anticipation, guests were able to bask in the beauty of the magnificent ballroom at The Ritz Carlton - Pentagon City, adorned lovingly with wisteria blooms, whimsical draping, and twinkling uplighting by L'Ambiance with planning by Sagina Wahi - SW Events. Finally, romantic music by DCs Dynasty floated through the air, announcing that the lovely bride was ready to make her grand arrival. Everyone took a collective gasp as Maharani Puneet floated down the aisle in her pink and amber custom designed gown. How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?

We met through a mutual friend in 2011 at George Mason University. In October of 2015, we both decided to take our five years of friendship and grow into a loving relationship.  After dating for few months we both knew we were made for each other.

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.

Planning our wedding was not hard for me as my husband is Karan Kapoor who is one of the main DJs with Dynasty AV & Entertainment (aka DCSDynasty). He planned 99% of the details as he wanted to take the burden of my shoulder and only wanted me to care about my wedding outfit, and hair & makeup. He is very familiar with all the venues and vendors. He had asked me a few questions and learned about my ideas, thoughts, and details about venue. He had presented a total of 18 venues to me from which we narrowed it down to one (The Ritz-Carlton, Pentagon City, VA). I wanted our decor to be very elegant and classy. I wanted our wedding ambiance to be a mixture of white and gold. Tall trees with hanging candles, and of course a lot of flowers. My overall experience was amazing with the Venue, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, DJ Services, Lighting, and Cake.

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?

I had many different ideas when it came to selecting my bridal lengha. I really wanted my bridal lengha to be have combination of pink and amber color. I visited India last year and had my lengha costumed made with the design I had in my mind. As far as reception dress goes, my mother in law, Karan's mom designed my Reception outfit which I did not get to try on till the week before our wedding. It turned out to be fabulous.

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?

The most enjoyable part of the planning process was that I did not have to research or look for the vendors. My husband did a lot of the homework and most of the running around. He always came up with new ideas. Which was helpful and we both had to sit down with our selected vendors to finalize the details.

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?

A really special moment in our wedding that constantly replays in my mind is when we both saw each other morning of our wedding and looked at each other in tears. We both knew we couldn't wait to get married and spend rest of lives together.

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?

Words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be would be enjoy every single moment up till your wedding.

Thank you Puneet! Have a lovely Wednesday Maharanis. We'll see you all tomorrow!

San Francisco, CA Sikh Wedding by White Rose Production

Oh my goodness, this NorCal wedding film by White Rose Production is an absolute cinematic marvel. The shots, the action, and the energy captured in the clip electrifies us! Also, the fashions in the video are so lux. Maharani Amrit was a goddess in a delicate petal pink lehenga by Frontier Raas and perfectly applied henna by Mehndi By Kamal. Beauty gurus from Lilly’s Beauty World whipped up a sensational hair and makeup look for the bride, which included rosy cheeks, shimmering eyes, and a polished updo. She glowed from every angle. And while we usually don’t covet the groom’s outfit, Alex’s pearl encrusted sherwani was an exception! Such a gorgeous, fashion forward couple. The duo’s love for each shined brightly during their ceremony at the Sikh Institute of Fresno, and the film captured their admiration for each other so vividly. Next, we were invited into their reception at the historic San Francisco City Hall. The ornate venue was completely decked out in sophisticated decor and green touches by To Have & To Hold Florals, with planning and design overseen by Sky Weddings and Events. The video ends on an emotional note as the couple departs the hall, ready to embark on their grand adventures as husband and wife. Maharanis, we promise that you don’t want to miss this dazzling clip. Hurry and hit play to experience all the magic!

Breathtaking, right Maharanis? We'll be back tomorrow morning with another inspiring wedding film!

California Sikh Wedding by Wedding Documentary Photo + Cinema

We love it when the bride and groom’s families band together to pull of the wedding celebration as a team. Sukhvinder and Pavan’s families certainly worked in unison throughout the planning process. We were especially touched to hear that Maharani Sukhvinder’s right hand woman was her future sister in law! This family oriented lovebirds go way back. In fact, their fathers are best friends. Their romantic paths finally crossed at a family party, where they had a blast chatting and dancing with each other. On the couple’s first date, Sukhvinder knew Pavan was the one. He brought her 3 dozen long stemmed roses and the night was pure magic. To this day, the wallpaper on Sukhvinder’s phone is a photo of those roses to remind her of the night she knew Pavan was the one. Too cute! This emotional wedding film by Wedding Documentary Photo + Cinema will take you on such a sweeping adventure through this couple’s relationship. It doesn’t hurt that every frame is embellished with decor details by Floramor and planning efforts by Touch of Elegance Events. Sukhvinder stunned her groom in a regal navy and red lehenga custom designed by Sari Palace accompanied by bombshell hair and makeup. We recently featured their wedding photos by Wedding Documentary Photo + Cinema on our site, and you can click here to read our coverage.  We've also arranged all the photos in the gallery. Make sure to scroll below for all the behind the scenes deets from the bride herself - Trust us, this is a celebration you’ll want all the inside scoop on!

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
We have known each other practically all of our lives. Our fathers were best friends; as a result our families knew each other really well. We never got together earlier as our romantic paths never crossed. We were both in other relationships and never looked at each other that way. Pavan was invited to our family party, that is when we first started to see each other as more than just family friends. We had such a great time at the party hanging out, dancing, etc.
I knew he was the one on our first date. He brought these 3 dozen long stem roses (which are still the picture when he calls my phone - to remind me of the day when I just knew he was the one). We went out to dinner and then dancing and the whole night was just simply put magical! I knew that day that this is the man I want to spend the rest of my life with. I was immediately smitten with him and fall more in love with him as each day passes.
Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
Pavan and his family surprised me at my parent's house. Everyone came over with sweets and he asked my dad for my hand in marriage... I was just sitting there shocked that this was happening! Then he turns around and gets on one knee in front of everyone and asks me to marry him. It was the best way he could have asked me... with the most important people in our lives there.
Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
We got engaged in Dec 2016 and were trying to decide on a date for the wedding. Our lifeline and savior was my sister-in-law! She to put it in words was simply the most AMAZING assistance we could ever ask for. She found our venue, helped interview wedding planners, and make the most gorgeous and memorable day in our lives happen in less than month in half. Her amazing eye for detail and overall understanding our vision just made everything so easy. It goes to show you when it comes to wedding planning getting some help from family will help to relieve stress and make the whole process seamless. I felt bad at times because she took the stress and responsibility of planning everything the T.
What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
I am the one bride that didn't want to plan my wedding... I know most brides look forward to that but i knew the stress and esp since we were doing it month and half after being engaged that I was not ready to take on the stress. So the best part was not planning it and having my most trustworthy family member do it for us. Truly grateful and thankful because if it wasn't for her.. we wouldn't have the most memorable event we could ever wish for with all the details planned to the T.

We hope you have a spectacular weekend Maharanis! See you all on Monday!

Downers Grove, IL Indian Wedding by Old North Film Company

Welcome back to the film blogs where we share a gorgeous Sikh Wedding celebrating Maharani Amy and her boo Mehul. The bride and groom opted to have their wedding at a local gurdwara temple and their reception at the Ashyana Banquets. The venue also served as the caterer and designed specialty cuisine in house. Our bride was smashing in a pretty in pink theme. Both paisley infused lenghas worn on her wedding and reception day were absolutely gorgeous. The timeless decor, based off a blue print designed by Chicago Vintage Weddings, was traditional glam at its best. All the decor just blew guests away. Amy could not stop gushing about her bridal look! Dolled up by Brides by Enrique, this makeup artist certainly knew his way around a blush brush. The gorgeous wedding cake cut by the couple was a mixture of vintage glam with a touch of sophisticated floral work hand baked  by Oak Mill Bakery. I am sure many of you can agree that one of the best parts of a reception party is rocking out! DJ D’Stylz and Dhiraj Gupta of JSM Entertainment curated the perfect wedding reception list full of songs that kept the crowd moving. Christina G Photography captured all the still actions while premier cinematographer Old North Film Company put together a wedding highlight for the ages. Hit play as we relive the magical union of Amy and Mehul. Read on below as Amy spills some of the details on her relationship.

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
I met my husband 6 years ago and reintroduced ourselves approximately 3 years after that. I knew he was "the one" by our 4th date, when he took me out to my favorite hipster spots for Valentine's day.
Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
I've always loved vintage vibes, and was proposed to at an antique warehouse in Chicago, called Salvage One. He hired a photographer and acoustic guitarist to play my favorite songs. Shortly after the proposal, our families and close met us downtown to continue the celebration.
Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
I absolutely loved my hair and makeup artist, Enrique from Brides by Enrique. He keeps the calm going during a chaos of an Indian wedding. He knew what would fit my like without having to say much!
How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
I went to Delhi and really chose the outfits that were innately detailed and stood out in the entire store. I found all my outfits within my first hour of shopping, but continued shopping for a few days before returning and purchasing them!
What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
Definitely food tasting, cake tasting and making DIY crafts with my bridesmaids. I cherish all the fun family and friends bonding during this planning time.
What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
The food, alcohol and music!
Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
I loved our first dance, which was "Ho Hey" by the Lumineers. The bridesmaids came out with tambourines and played along to the song.
Thank you for joining us in today’s love journey! See you Maharanis tomorrow.
