Megha was the epitome of grace and elegance, enveloped in a breathtaking Manish Malhotra ensemble. Antonella Macaluso's touch had rendered her a goddess, her makeup and hair flawless as her soul, which has been in eternal love with Rajiv. Mainardi Fiori transformed the venue into a romantic haven. Haveli Indian Catering curated a gastronomic symphony that harmonized perfectly with the couple's heritage. A cascade of saccharine delights flowed from the hands of Le Cirque Firenze, each cake and treat a testament to the sweetness of their love. We cannot forget the euphoric tunes that filled the air, choreographed to perfection by Calibar. Chi Chi Illustrations was responsible for the personalized pack of playing cards and the personalized vintage Italian postcards. To ensure that this day would forever be etched into the annals of love, The Wedding Filmmakers captured each look, touch, and smile in a way that transcended the very essence of visual storytelling. The film was a visual recording and a soulful capture of moments that translate into everlasting memories. You'll love it!

Rajiv proposed on 23rd October 2021, just over a year after we first met. He had organized a spa day at the Corinthia Hotel in London, which is one of my favorite spas - we got pampered with lots of treatments and a lovely lunch. We then changed location to the Four Seasons Hotel on Park Lane. He asked me to be ready at 5.45 pm and meet him on the top floor of the hotel. When the lift doors opened, I could hear our song “Electric” by Alina Baraz & Khalid playing. I followed the path of white rose petals on the floor to the main room. There were photo frames of us and little gifts to collect along the way. When I opened the doors to the main room, I found Rajiv in the middle on one knee. The whole room was covered in white rose petals, with Polaroids of our dates hanging on fairy light strings and candles everywhere. The view of the London skyline in the background as the sun was setting was amazing. He had hired a saxophone player to play our favorite songs live in the background. He had also hired our wedding photographers to capture the proposal as well! It was the best moment of my life. Afterward, we went to Amaya, an Indian restaurant, for dinner; as a surprise, he had organized a private dinner with our immediate families. From there, we headed to a nearby bar for a final celebratory drink - I didn’t know Rajiv had organized another surprise after party this time to celebrate with all of our friends! It was perfect :)

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
I knew I wanted to wear traditional red and Manish Malhotra as I love his Indian wedding lenghas. I went to his store in Delhi and had the best experience playing dress up. I found my perfect Lengha there and knew it immediately.

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
We have heard that guests loved our attention to the smaller details - we had written personalized vintage Italian postcards by hand to go into each guest's welcome bag when they arrived for the wedding. We had personalized tote bags made with our logo for guests to use to transport their belongings to the various events. Guests still use this as a reusable shopping bag today. We also had a personalized pack of playing cards (our family are keen card players), a personalized wooden vintage handheld fan, and personalized do-not-disturb signs for the wedding guests. We also had a whole range of Italian snacks and wines for guests to enjoy in their rooms. We had water guns for the Haldi, which guests also loved!

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
We wrote our own personal vows, so hearing those out loud was really special. The moment we said ‘I Do’ and became husband and wife meant a lot. The whole theme of our wedding was “From Dreams To Reality,” and it was amazing to see all our ideas come to life against the beautiful Tuscan backdrop.

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
The day flies by, and before you know it, it will have already become a memory. Be in the present and savor every moment. Don’t let any of the small stresses get to you. You’ll cherish these memories forever, and you want them to be full of smiles.

At Maharani Weddings, we value originality, and we love seeing a novel concept for a wedding film. For Shikha and Sanjay’s wedding film, Robles Video Productions created a marvel, where the first five minutes were dedicated to cinematic, detailed shots of the bride and the groom getting ready. They even captured those moments that are easily missed. Planning Elegance orchestrated this two-event bash at the Hyatt Regency Orange County, and worked with 2Create Designs for the floral and decor work. The ceremony looked absolutely sublime - crystal garlands were suspended from the circular cream mandap, with a gazillion red roses adorning the ceiling. Gathered curtains with big rose bouquets on the knot made for the pillars of the mandap. Big glass vases with red roses were arranged along the aisle runner, and that along with melodious live flute music by Anis Chandani was the perfect welcome for everyone. Sanjay entered with a Baraat put together by 3D Sounds, looking dapper in a cream and gold sherwani that he paired with an aubergine, floral embroidered stole. The bridesmaids and groomsmen coordinated in elegant outfits, cream saris with turquoise embroidery, and turquoise kurtas with cream pyjamas. Shikha looked ethereal in a red and cream combination, splashed with sequins, with an ombre metallic overlay on lehenga. Statement kundan jewelry accessorized her look, and we loved that gorgeous smokey eye by Beauty by Lishma. Jay Bharat catered a scrumptious mix of cuisines like Indo Chinese, Indo Mexican, and Indo Italian during lunch. Post tearjerking vows, Shikha and Sanjay whisked away for Global Photography and Robles Video Productions to capture some private moments of the couple in their reception outfits. We were in awe of Shikha’s pastel mint and blush pink lehenga, paired with minimal statement jewelry. The reception decor looked absolutely divine, involving an interplay of metallics and crimson red hues. Crystal centerpieces, garlands, and candles surrounded the ballroom, while the same mandap remained the same. The backdrop consisted of paneled frames with candles, and the seating had gold cushions instead of chairs. Amazing Cakes baked the luxe three-tiered white cake topped with red rosettes. Guests enjoyed live music from the guitarist Brandt Jacobus while relishing delicacies from Mantra and sweet treats by Dolly’s Sweet Dreams.

Is it just us or are same day edits incredibly moving? We’ll go with the latter, and the reason being, raw emotions and tearjerking moments are not only beautifully captured, but it is amazing to see the wedding party reliving such a special day within moments of the ceremony! These two lovebirds Hinal and Rikesh had Robles Video Productions to film their nuptials, and we are not exaggerating when we say that we truly felt like a part of the wedding. Not only did Robles Video Productions walk us through the entire event as though it was fairytale, they went the extra mile to film all the prep work and behind-the-scenes, highlighting the talented work of KIS Cubed Events who put this stellar event together. Speaking of, the ceremony hosted at Crowne Plaza Providence-Warwick, was enveloped in gorgeous hues of coral, alternated with muted pink and soft lavender lighting. Rikesh entered with a bang thanks to his Baraat, and the live music that accompanied. Design House Decor set up a grand floral aisle runner along which the bridal party followed by Hinal sashayed down one by one, in their supremely well-coordinated cream and coral Indian outfits. Naturally, our star couple stood out, owing to their traditional red ensembles. We loved how Robles Video Productions captured the couple’s expressions at the exact moment that they first saw each other, and we totally empathized with Rikesh! Hinal looked like a dream in her bridal glory! Nadia Diskavets shot the stills for everyone to fondly look back upon, and DJ Gaurav entertained the guests when they took the floor at the reception, also held at the Crowne Plaza Rhode Island.

Happy Monday love birds! If you are an aspiring bride to be, welcome, Maharani! We have PLENTY of ideas, vendor recommendations and weddings to showcase, so we hope that you are utilizing your time here with plenty of notes and a cocktail! Today we bring you a cinematic masterpiece by NYNJ Photography that is most definitely a nod to the arts. Both the outdoor Indian wedding and the reception venue was housed at the Addison Park. The floral and decor, styled with blush pink lace and ivory white drapes, was designed by Rangoli Weddings. Speaking of designers, this Maharani donned some proprietary names for her events! Draped in a stunning red and gold lengha designed by Anita Dongre for her wedding and a regal slate grey and gold lengha choli by the renowned designer Sabyasachi, this girl knocked the crowd dead. Hair and makeup to match these two designer pieces was no easy feat! The makeup masters at Cinderella Bridez nailed the Indian bridal look for the prestigious ceremonies. Planning a wedding, making sure all the details are to your liking, running around like a mad woman to find that last bobby pin, is all in a days work for an Indian bride! Imagine having to bake your cake too? Yes, Maharani Hitasha, who owns The Cakery Bake Shop, churned out a stunning 10-tiered cake that was jaw dropping. From an innovative standpoint, I can’t help but imagine how many tears of joy were wept while building this colossal dessert masterpiece. The love that is shared between Hitasha and Kunal is uncanny and this unbelievable memory is caught on both the film and stills captured by NYNJ Photography; a masterpiece any bride can appreciate. 

We spoke to Hitasha to get more insights into her one of a kind wedding, and here's what she had to share with us: 

How did you meet your Raja and when did you know he was "the one"?

Kunal's dad and my dad worked together about 33-34 years ago in Dubai. After a few years in Dubai, Kunal's Family moved back to Bombay, and we lost touch. Through common friends, the parents reconnected in 2004. It was the same year I had moved from Florida to New Jersey to attend college. A few months later, we met for the first time and started talking on AIM. And were here over 11 years later.

Do you have a super romantic proposal story or engagement memory?

Considering that our Misri (Sindhi Engagement) was in May 2015, I had been expecting Kunal to propose during the summer. On the 29th of November, we decided to go to brunch and change before we headed over to Central Park for the second part of our "save the date" shoot. On our drive to the park, Kunal casually brought up my nails and if I had them done recently (which I had not and I just did them in a rush myself a few days earlier), and how the outfit I was wearing looked good. He doesn’t usually bring up my manicures, but since we did get all dolled up for the pictures, and one of my nails had a little smudge so I just thought he noticed. As we were approaching the end of the shoot, I was freezing, and was ready to go back to the car since we had taken pictures at every spot that I wanted. Kunal, Saurabh and Jignisha said that we should walk over to a spot by the water, since it was empty and would showcase all the fall colors. Once we walked over, Kunal and I were talking between the shot, and he said, “we should totally have a picture where I am fake proposing, so we have it for later.” I giggled a little and wasn’t sure if he was kidding or not. He then started to say the sweetest things, and before I knew it, I was in tears and he was actually on one knee, with the most beautiful ring I had ever seen, asking me to marry him.

Tell us about your wedding style. When you sat down to really figure out how your dream wedding would look, did you start with one central color, a palette of colors, or a theme that served as your inspiration?

Kunal and I are both very simple when it comes to our taste. We like things to be elegant and classic without being over the top. When we were scoping out venues, we came across The Addison Park and that set the tone for the entire wedding. It had such a polished and classy vibe and we knew right away that all we needed to do was pick things to enhance what the venue already had. I am a big fan of whites and pink and wanted a lot of flowers, so that was our starting point along with some Pinterest boards I had been creating over the last few years. We worked with Krupa and Rangoli Weddings to make all the details come alive.

What did you enjoy most about the process of planning your dream Indian wedding?

I loved the entire process. From the initial meetings with all our amazing vendors to seeing everything come together on the final days, it was all extremely special.

How did you choose your lengha or lenghas? Did you work with a certain designer? Did you spend hours on the internet first?

I took two trips to India. The first was in December 2015, I was hoping to get things done in one trip, but once I got there, I was so overwhelmed by everything. I left empty handed during that trip, and wasnt sure how to proceed. When I went back to Mumbai, our first stop on that trip was Anita Dongre’s flagship in Khar, Mumbai. I think I tried on their entire store since I was pretty sure I did not want a traditional red lehenga for the wedding ceremony. And that changed when I tried on the lehenga I ended up buying, and it was a red one. I loved that it was traditional, yet had the perfect feel for a modern bride. Anita Dongre also has a fabulous jewelry collection, Pink City, so we ended up getting all of the pieces I wore at both, the ceremony and sangeet, from there as well.

Looking back, was there a really special moment that you remember from your wedding that stands out as the most magical?

The first look. I trust Kunal's opinion a lot, so him not being a part of my wedding shopping was really stressful. He knew what designers I was wearing, but didnt know anything else. It was extremely special when we saw each other that morning in front of our mandap. It all suddenly just got real. All that planning finally led us to our wedding day.

We'd love to hear all about your other details!

One of the details of the wedding I was most excited about was the cake! I love roses, so we used the pattern as a backer to our invites and inside our envelopes, and we knew it would be a part of the cakes design. I started with the sugar flowers a few weeks before the wedding since each flower takes about an hour to make. I usually do all the sugar work myself, but I knew it was time to call in some reinforcements. I was lucky to have my mom around, who is super artistic as well, so I taught her a few things and she kept making small flowers for our cake (Thanks, Mom!), while I was working and trying to get things for the wedding done. I felt so overwhelmed about it all, but I just kept working and building on the initial ideas and knew that I would know when it all looks and feels right. I do wish I had a bit more time to dedicate to the cake, but with everything else going on, it was a bit challenging. At the end though, Kunal loved the way the cake turned out and so did everyone else.

Robles Video Productions created a cohesive cinematic video for Richa & Abishek, which reflected the couple’s immense love, and style beautifully. The video made the entire setup look like a movie set made solely for the event! Kudos to Bridal & Event Lounge for planning this pretty sight outdoors at Los Verdes Golf Course! Abishek entered on a horse during a fun, jazzy Baraat from Enchanted Carriages set the tone for the rest of the wedding. We gaped at Richa with the same amount of awe that Abishek did, when we saw her in her blush pink tulle pleated lehenga with generous doses of sequins. A sleek updo, and bronzed makeup by Beauty By NG Nida Gazi prettified her even more! Abishek’s Nawabi-esque look in an ornate traditional cream-and-red Kurta with dhoti pants was relaxed yet flamboyant. NFP Events put up gorgeous white canopy tents for the guests, leading up to a chic, muted orange mandap with pops of red roses through bouquets and garlands. The reception was also hosted at Los Verdes Golf Course, albeit indoors, and the interplay between rich burgundy tones and gold decor lent grandeur to the event. NFP Events also put up a classy stage with a midnight blue star-studded backdrop, and flimsy, metallic drapes suspended in front of it. Abishek’s spiffy burgundy suit coordinated with Richa’s floral thread-work embroidered blouse - the two looked like they would rock a fashion editorial! Undoubtedly, everyone relished the delectable cake by Paper Street Cake. The highlight video also gave us snapshots of the couple’s funky poses for Global Photography, like Abishek’s heroic jumps, and Richa’s cinematic poses with her dupatta. The evening drew to a close with well-rehearsed and iconic performances by friends and family, after which the DJ’s from 3D Sounds took over.
