A true celebration of love and culture—one we’re sure to be gushing over for years to come
Cancun, a paradise of turquoise waves and white sands, was about to witness a wedding that would shake things up. Natasha, the brilliant wedding planner, and Arjun, the talented DJ from DJUSA Events, joined forces to create a celebration that was a masterpiece of love and a touch of drama. Spoiler alert: fireworks, a double baarat, and even a dramatic ACL tear!
Now, imagine this: A bride on her baarat. Yes, you heard it right—because why should the groom have all the fun? Natasha had always envisioned this moment, and it was nothing short of spectacular. Cue the music and the cheering guests, each making a grand entrance in their cars. And if that wasn't enough to make your jaw drop, Natasha broke into a dance for Arjun just before a drizzle began.
The magic didn't stop there. The ceremony was followed by a grand reception at Planet Hollywood Cancun, where guests were treated to an electrifying evening with DJUSA Events ensuring the beats never stopped. At that precise moment when they were pronounced husband and wife, fireworks from Pyrotech Mx lit up the night sky, and it was as if the universe itself had decided to celebrate their union. Every detail was thoughtfully crafted with the creative genius of Royal Charms, Etirios Floral Atelier, and Destawed. Natasha had worked closely with Royal Charms, who flawlessly brought her vision to life. And if you're thinking about food, Chowpatty Catering did not disappoint. They flew everything necessary for their events, bringing the authentic taste of Indian cuisine to Mexico. No grand wedding is complete without someone capturing every incredible moment—and they chose Gareth Davies Photography to do just that.
Now, we promised you some drama, didn't we? Natasha danced the night away during the welcome party/henna night. But just as she was making everyone groove, she took a fall. Not just any fall, mind you—a fall that ended in a torn ACL. Ouch! But did that stop her from enjoying her wedding? Nope! She powered through the weekend, making memories. It wasn't until all the festivities were over that she realized just how much she had pushed through—eventually needing surgery two months later. Talk about dedication to the celebration! Natasha & Arjun's wedding was a spectacular celebration filled with love, laughter, and surprises.

From emotional first looks to dance floor madness, this wedding was a blockbuster hit.
Young & Akshay's love story began at a hospital where they worked together. What started as a friendship slowly blossomed into a romantic relationship as they spent more time together. The defining moment came during a dinner at Allora in Sacramento, where Akshay surprised Young by getting down on one knee and proposing, creating a memory she would cherish forever.
Planning their wedding in just three months, the couple carefully selected a team of vendors to bring their dream day to life. Every detail, from the picturesque Silverado Resort venue to Young's stunning lengha from Swati Couture, was thoughtfully chosen. Akshay went the extra mile, driving six hours round trip multiple times to ensure Young got her dream outfit. Despite the short timeline, the process was filled with love and teamwork.
The ceremony was significant with the inclusion of their children, symbolizing the blending of their two families. Although rain changed their plans for an outdoor ceremony, the Silverado Resort team and their wedding planner, Mita, effortlessly moved the event indoors, creating an unforgettable celebration. The beautiful Hindu rituals captivated the guests, many experiencing such a cultural event for the first time.
Young & Akshay added personal touches throughout the celebration, from handwritten notes for each guest to a surprise champagne tower pour at the reception. Guests loved the breathtaking scenery at Silverado Resort. They raved about the delicious food, but the couple's thoughtfulness and attention to detail made the day truly special for everyone.
Young advises future brides to savor the planning process and focus on celebrating their love rather than aiming for perfection. "Make the day yours," she shared, "It's about your love story, and that's what will make it unforgettable." It's these meaningful and personal touches that make a wedding truly unforgettable.
How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
I met my husband when we worked together at a hospital. We started as friends, and over time, our friendship naturally evolved into a romantic relationship. There wasn't a single 'aha' moment when I knew he was the one, but as I got to know him better, I found myself wanting to spend more and more time with him. It became clear that he was someone I wanted to build a future with.

My husband had been secretly planning to propose, and I had no idea what was coming. On the day of our engagement, we both had to work, but he suggested we go out for dinner afterward, saying he wanted to treat me for working so hard. We went to Allora in Sacramento, and as we were enjoying our meal, he suddenly got down on one knee with a ring. It was a complete surprise and such a special moment that I'll never forget.

We planned our wedding in just three months, carefully selecting our support team to make our day extraordinary. From the venue, photographer, décor, and wedding planner to the DJ, priest, hairstylist, makeup artist, cake designer, and wedding dress coordinator—everyone did an outstanding job. Their dedication truly made our special day unforgettable.
How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
We got my lengha from Swati Couture in the Bay Area, and I absolutely love it. My husband drove me to the place 6 hours round trip three times, but it was worth it. It's so beautiful that I wish I could wear it more than just on my wedding day—it's too stunning to keep in my closet! Swati was incredibly professional and friendly, making the whole experience even more special.
What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
The most enjoyable part of the wedding planning process was collaborating with incredible people who wanted to make our day truly special. My husband was my biggest support throughout—taking on the roles of my mother, mother-in-law, sister, best friend, and, of course, my groom. Since we’re both from other countries, we leaned on each other for everything, making the experience even more meaningful.
What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
Most of our guests were captivated by the beautiful scenery at the Silverado Resort, and many of them commented on how great the food was. Those who attended our wedding ceremony were especially impressed by the Hindu rituals, with many mentioning that it was truly a spectacular experience.
Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
In my opinion, our wedding was truly special because we invited our children to participate in the ceremony, symbolizing the merging of our two families. Additionally, everyone who attended played a significant role in our lives, making the day even more meaningful.
For events other than your ceremony, please tell us as much as you would like about the decor, style, dances, and all the special details.
We’d like to thank the Silverado Resort and our wedding planner, Mita, for their incredible flexibility and support. Our original plan was to have an outdoor wedding, but due to rainy weather, we had to move everything indoors. Despite this last-minute change just two days before our wedding, they did a fabulous job, going above and beyond to make our dream come true.
Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
Wedding planning can be stressful but try to savor the process. Focus on the joy of preparing for your big day rather than getting caught up in perfection. Make decisions that reflect who you and your partner are rather than trying to meet everyone’s expectations. Your wedding should feel authentically yours. Don’t hesitate to lean on family and friends who offer support. Sharing the load can make the process more enjoyable. Amid the planning, don’t forget to nurture your relationship. Set aside time to enjoy each other’s company, away from wedding discussions. Things might not go exactly as planned, and that’s okay. Embrace the unexpected, and remember that at the end of the day, it’s the love and commitment you share that matters most. On your wedding day, take a few moments to pause, take it all in, and enjoy the experience. The day will go by quickly, so allow yourself to be fully present. Ultimately, your wedding is about celebrating love and the beginning of a new chapter. Keep that at the forefront of your mind, and everything else will fall into place.

Having a different cultural background made understanding and planning an Indian wedding both stressful and exciting. Despite the challenges, I absolutely loved my Mehndi experience, especially the beautiful work by Ravi.
Alyson & Vinay had known each other for years, always in the same circle of friends. Life eventually brought them back to their hometown, and when they reconnected in 2020, it was as if no time had passed. Their conversations flowed effortlessly, and it became clear that something special was unfolding. From that day on, they remained in constant contact, growing closer with each passing moment. It wasn't an instant realization that Vinay was "the one," but rather a gradual journey of discovering each other's qualities and falling in love.
The proposal came during a romantic weekend getaway to celebrate their second anniversary. They shared a private dinner on the beach, with Vinay visibly nervous. Despite the flicker of uncertainty, there was a brief power outage at the hotel, adding a touch of humor to the evening. When the lights returned, the moment became magical as Vinay got down on one knee and asked the question that would change their lives forever.
Planning their wedding while living in Belize and organizing a 3-day celebration for 130 guests in Jamaica was no small feat. Yet, with the help of their exceptional wedding planner, Kimberley Dunkley-Watkins of The Dragonfly Experience, every detail came together seamlessly. The Sangeet was a vision of vibrant colors, with a disco-neon-jungle theme transforming the conference room into an otherworldly setting filled with blue, green, and purple hues, all brought to life by Tai Flora's stunning decor. The wedding embraced a vivid palette of pink, magenta, and orange, set against the lush backdrop of a garden by the ocean. The weekend was filled with personal touches, from the bridesmaids and groomsmen's coordinating outfits to the breathtaking scenery that framed each event.
Guests were especially captivated by the Sangeet, a vibrant introduction to Indian culture for many who had never experienced such an event. The night began with a Jamaican barbeque on the beach, blending local flavor with the festivities, and left the guests immersed in the lively spirit of the celebration.
One of the bride's fondest memories of the wedding day was the ceremony, where time seemed to stand still. In that brief, intimate exchange of vows, she and Vinay were lost in their world, joking and smiling, eagerly anticipating the moment they would officially begin their new life together.
How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
I have known Vinay for years, and we've always had some of the same friends. We both left Belize young for university. I went to Texas, and he went to Kentucky. I returned to Belize in 2019, and he came back in 2020. Before things got tough in Belize for COVID-19, all our friends got together, and we had not seen each other for years. Once we started talking, it was like nothing had changed, and we had been in touch for years. I think we both realized how much we liked each other that day! Since then, we have been in touch every day. Sometimes people think there is one moment when you know that someone is "the one," but I think it's also amazing when you spend time with someone, and you gradually get to know all their qualities, and you begin to fall in love with each part of them.

We went on a weekend getaway for our 2-year anniversary. We had a private dinner on the beach. I could tell he was nervous, but I wasn't sure if he was going to propose. It was funny because there was actually a blackout at the hotel while we were at dinner! Once the lights came back on,

We both agreed that we could have a longer engagement, and we wanted to get married between the months of January - May, and since we got engaged in September 2022, we waited until the following January 2024 to get married. Planning was great, but it was also stressful as we were planning a wedding in Jamaica while living in Belize. Also, we were planning a 3-day weekend for around 130 guests. But, we had the best wedding planning, Kimberley Dunkley-Watkins of the Dragonfly Experience, who put us in touch with the best vendors for our wedding. I really had no worries with her, and she took care of everything. I knew that for our Sangeet, I wanted tons of decor and a completely transformed room. That's why I chose a disco/neon/jungle theme. The colors were mostly blue, green, and purple. The decor by Tai Flora was amazing. For the wedding day, I chose pink, magenta, and orange as the colors as I wanted a colorful wedding. The Hotel was the perfect setting as the Sangeet was in a large conference room that was totally transformed. The wedding was in a beautiful garden, and the reception was in a larger garden next to the ocean. For the Sangeet, the bridesmaids and groomsmen matched the theme of both nights, with blue lehengas and sherwanis for the Sangeet, and pink bridesmaids dresses and matching groomsmen ties for the wedding day.
What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
Because most of our guests had never been to an Indian wedding or any sort of Indian event, our guests really loved our Sangeet. For the first night, we had a Jamaican barbeque on the beach, so I think the guests really got into the Jamaican vibe that night. I think guests loved the variety in each of the events.
Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
I really enjoyed my entire wedding day/night. Our ceremony was quick, but it felt like my husband and I were in our own world the entire ceremony. I think we spoke and joked with each other during the entire ceremony. I think we were really excited to finally see each other after not spending the night before together.
Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
Enjoy your wedding! Don't stress on the day because you've done all you can do. No one will know if something goes wrong! Ensure you and your husband have the best time, whether you choose to have an intimate wedding or large wedding. The day will go by so quickly.
