Greensboro, NC, Indian Wedding by CB Art Photography

Some of the most splendid, lively, and opulent celebrations we’ve come across are Gujarati weddings. They brim with vibrancy and details, and we love how age-old customs are held up, albeit in a modern setting. In recent times, a standout Gujarati wedding that we got to witness was Payal and Viral’s, brought to life by the dream team - the planners, K.I. Weddings, cinematography by Memories Films, and CB Art Photography. In addition to the ceremony and reception, they hosted a Mehndi night, a Welcome Dinner, and in keeping with the rituals, a Vidhi & Saatak event. Each event was more glorious than the previous one, resulting in what Payal described as a “labor of love.” The Welcome Night at the Meridian Convention and Event Center was a Bollywood themed spectacle - musical, melodramatic, and zesty. Bollywood magic was replicated, with the faces of Payal and Viral’s families photoshopped onto movie posters, and the groom's table had a custom Bollywood movie linen with bottles of Thumbs Up, Limca and fresh sugarcane juice. Prashe Decor did such a thorough job with details - upturned ethnic umbrellas were suspended from the ceiling, antique lamps and lanterns with colorful lights were placed around display setups, and iconic Bollywood movie posters in postcard sizes were hung along with string lights. Om Foods Catering & Nasta set up interesting stalls that sounded very scrumptious, like a Thirst Aid Station and Indian Street Food! Payal made for the most chic and comfortable-looking bride we’ve seen, in a tangerine lehenga paired with what seemed like a crop top, in bright blue. Her beau matched in a thread-embroidered floral vest worn over a light grey kurta. The next event was the traditional Vidhi and Saatak, which featured many rituals, a Haldi ceremony, and close-knit festivities. Yellow reigned supreme over the decor, and both Payal and her family wore coordinated outfits with a pop of jade green. Belladev Studio Hair and Makeup outdid themselves by giving Payal a distinctive, suitable look for every event, sometimes even two a day - kudos to their styling expertise! Palo Alto, CA Fusion Indian Wedding by Sameer Soorma Studios

It is the last day of this fusion wedding, and I am just brimming with happiness for this couple. To be quite frank, I am sad this wedding celebration is over! I could just feel the love resonating from the screen between Maharani Deepal and her handsome beau Owen. Back at the Oshman Family JCC, Aesthetika Event Planning and Design were busy as bees setting up the venue for the final hurrah. Lavina Shah was once again helming the beauty duties of dolling up a glittering Indian bride. Deepal exchanged her traditional wedding gown for a shimmering blue and gold lengha that complimented her perfectly. The venue was lit up by Oshman Family JCC while DJ Tanveer kept the dance floor packed with the Top 40 dance hits. New bay area caterer Sakoon provided guests with specialties such as kebab’s and mint chicken tikka before they hit Philfoto’s for the ultimate in photo booth fun while Sameer Soorma Studios captured all the lively action! Head into the gallery for more images of the event and we have a special treat for you! Sameer Soorma captured all the cinematic fun and you can watch the video of all the wedding highlights in our film blogs!

Palo Alto, CA Fusion Indian Wedding by Sameer Soorma Studios

A true love story will never cease to parish. Especially one where the groom rallies in the celebration of an Indian wedding; respecting all the customary rituals involved in an obscuring world of Indian weddings. It takes a special Maharaja to deeply immerse himself in the Hindu culture, and Owen is one exceptional guy. After numerous celebration events, Maharani Deepal slipped into a scarlet red and gold lengha after being dolled up by Lavina Shah, and met her beau at a secret location. In a private garden, Owen was waiting for his bride alongside his best friend, to exchange marital vows in the most romantic ceremony I have ever seen. After the couple exchanged their nuptials, it was time for Owen to show up with his baraat led by the drums and excitement of DJ Tanveer as he boasted his way into the Hindu ceremony held at the Oshman Family JCC. Owen infused his own Jewish traditions such as the Horah, a traditional Jewish wedding dance. The venue was decorated in floral and decor by Aesthetika Event Planning & Design with Sameer Soorma Studios helming both the photographic and cinematic capture of this exceptional fusion wedding. “Horah” into the gallery for more fusion fun!

Palo Alto, CA Fusion Indian Wedding by Sameer Soorma Studios

In an Indian wedding, it really is all about the details. Everything from the proposal, finding the perfect lengha, picking out the bridal jewelry to hunting down wedding invitations, it is no wonder that wedding planners have their planners full to the brim! However, when an Indian wedding turns into a fusion wedding, the bride really has her work cut out for her! Maharani Deepal met her Maharaja six years ago in the whimsical town of Davis, California. Their love would culminate the interwoven cultures of Deepal’s Hindu Gujarati family with her future husband Owen’s Jewish background. The wedding events spanned over a whirlwind of a week that included the Pithi (Turmeric Ceremony), Khatuvaru (Seafood Party), Santak (Religious Ceremony), and the Garba (Traditional Dance Night). On the Mehndi night, Deepal’s hands and legs were adorned by Maaz Henna Creations. I have to tell you how impressed I am by the work of Maaz. The rhythmic design of his work flows symmetrically with the personality of his brides; Deepal was no exception, her henna stood out and looked amazing with each of her outfit changes. Guests were invited to the week long event with invitations from Gemini Card Products and Hsin Ruey Embroidery provided the wedding favors. This Maharani had numerous outfit changes throughout her wedding celebration and her bridal fashion was handpicked from Roopkala. I loved the simplicity yet pizzazz of this bride’s jewelry selection from Sunil Jewellers; truly befitting for this charming Maharani! Take a look into the gallery as we peruse through more photos of this week long event photographed by Sameer Soorma Studios.

Palm Beach, FL Indian Wedding by PS Photography & Films

We are girl crushing on Maharani Binny's wedding captured by PS Photography & Films big time today, and it's just one beautiful post after another. The love birds celebrated their union with a chic, festive party at the Flager Museum.  Dalsimer Atlas filled the room with whites, creams, and touches of green.  Our favorite details from this reception are the bride's modern lengha and the towering wedding cake bursting with flowers. For more inspiration from this destination beauty head over to the films blog. Some of my personal favorites shots of the couple are from their engagement session below, and don't forget to check out Binny's stunning green sari and personalized stationary by The Royal Collection in our gallery.
