Pleasanton, CA Indian Wedding by Tim Halberg Photography

The talented team from Floramor has decked the outdoor ceremony space at the Casa Real at Ruby Hill Winery out in some of the most exquisite floral work, and the happy couple's lavishly trimmed mandap is our current obsession! We're reveling in Ankita and Sunil's unforgettably fabulous Indian wedding ceremony right now, and these breathtaking moments captured by Tim Halberg Photography are seriously captivating, are they not? We simply can't get enough of how gorgeous today's Indian bride is looking in her traditional red wedding lengha! Her hair and makeup, by Makeup by Quis, are reminiscent of old Hollywood glam, and her Raja makes the perfect leading man in his ivory sherwani! The soft hues of lavender in the floral details pay a delicate compliment to the bold and ravishing tones of Maharani Ankita's ensemble, and the guests' bright pink parasols lend an extra pop of color to this sunny wedding ceremony! We'll be checking out details from the newlyweds' reception next, but until then, visit the complete gallery for even more magnificent ceremony moments!

Maharni Ankita, on her wedding style:

"Sunil and I are so in love and we just knew this had to reflect throughout our wedding. We wanted soft, romantic colors and gorgeous lighting, linen, the works. We complimented royalty and romance by choosing soft pinks, champagnes, and golds as our colors. We wanted elegance, but we did not want it to be too bold."

On what she enjoyed most about planning her dream Indian wedding:

"The best part of planning an Indian wedding was enhancing traditions and our culture to show who we really were. I love classical mandaps, but I wanted something more ethereal. We asked our florist to help us create an elegant flower made mandap with a gorgeous chandelier to tie in the elegance. Additionally, there is so much beauty in the traditions of a Hindu ceremony including the heavy involvement of our parents. Our entire wedding was focused around our families and their importance in blessing us as we started our new life. We created slight twists of a traditional Indian wedding by allowing my dad to walk me down the aisle and having our ceremony procession led by my nephews and our fur child, Dolce (who you can meet in the gallery!)."

On her most memorable wedding moment:

"As I walked down the aisle towards my mandap with Norah Jone’s “Come Away With Me” playing in the background, I had my dad on my left side, I saw my family sitting in our front rows, and my vision blurred when I saw Sunil standing at the mandap waiting for me. I looked around at our friends and family who all had tears in their eyes. At that moment, I knew I was the luckiest and happiest girl in the world."

It's almost party time, Maharanis! Stay tuned for some seriously unforgettable reception details, coming up next!

Maharani Ankita and Raja Sunil, on how they met:

"On one cold New Year’s Eve night, Ankita managed to get her parent’s permission to go out to a New Year’s Eve party with her uncle and aunt. As she was dancing the night away, she saw a handsome man dancing closer to her. Yes, he was slightly intoxicated, but she was instantly drawn to his amazing sense of humor. I knew Sunil was the one when 8 years later; I still could not go a day without speaking to him, hearing his voice, and being with him. Sunil made himself part of the family and there was a void every second he wasn’t around. We are true believers in love at first sight and hopeless romantics. We grew up and matured together. We laugh at each other without even saying a word and we just fill each other’s souls completely."

On her Raja's romantic proposal:

"Two days before my birthday, Sunil planned a trip to Napa with our best friends. We just had an amazing wine tasting tour at the beautiful Castillo di Amorosa. We just did a three hour tour but Sunil kept insisting that we go back to the top of the castle to get a better view. I missed all the cues. I didn’t get my nails done, I didn’t hear my best friends whispering, and didn’t question wanting to see the castle AGAIN. As I was looking out the ledge, I turned around to find Sunil on his knees and our best friends in tears. I brought on the ugliest cry possible but gladly accepted."

On shopping for her dream wedding lengha:

"Many brides start thinking about their wedding outfits since they were little girls. Since I was a little girl, I’ve always wanted a traditional red lengha. I would always look back at my mother’s red and gold outfit and thought she was the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen in my life. I just wanted to look half as beautiful as she did. We started by watching Indian movies and shows to see what the trends were. It was pretty difficult finding a solely red lengha. Most of the trends were multi colored. We were fortunate enough to get beautiful outfits designed directly in India. These outfits were so heavy, but so detailed and elegant."

On her hair and makeup:

"I know I wanted a very classy look. I wanted to be able to look back at my pictures 50 years from now and have a neutral look without too many trendy colors. I knew my hair would be covered, so for the day time I chose a very elegant side bun. I wanted bold, dramatic lips that could be seen from across the hall."

Stay with me today as I unveil even more magnificent details from Ankita and Sunil's sensational Indian wedding!

Maharani Karthy, on her and Raja Shiven's first dance:

"Shiven and I are goofballs and not a romantic couple. The lovey dovey slow songs we kept listening to just didn't fit. As we were listening to options I played Bob Marley's - Is this Love. We started laughing and jamming out to the song and we knew it was perfect. It was the perfect song to compliment our relationship and love for each other."

On the role that family and friends played is making her day extra special:

"Our family and friends helped tremendously to bring the whole day together. Our moms were especially integral in helping combine traditions between North and South India, which really was so important to us and our family."

We hope you loved today's featured wedding as much as we did, Maharanis! See you back here tomorrow for more incredible inspiration!

Maharani Karthy, on her and Raja Shiven's most memorable wedding moment:

"The family member that had fallen sick, when Shiven and I were dating was able to make it to my wedding. I had no idea she was going to be there and before my ceremony she came up to give me her blessings. The whole room filled with emotion and everyone was in tears. I remember thinking that this was the universe telling me I was about to marry my best friend and the one who would take care of me always."

On her reception lengha:

"For my reception look, we shopped in Ahmedabad and I got my dress from Asopalav. I knew I wanted a dress that was heavily embroidered and not a lot of stones or crystals. I love the vintage lenghas with lots of gold work and sewing. I spied the dress hanging on a rack another bride was trying on and insisted that I needed to try it on. Once I did, I couldn't stop smiling. It had the colors and the work I knew I wanted."

Stick around for some sensational reception highlight, coming up next!
