Maharani Sabrina, on her and Mos' reception style:

"I wanted it to be ultimate chic so we used a lot of white and light pink.

Mos and I went back and forth a lot regarding our first dance but we finally settled on “Let’s Stay Together” by Al Green. We really wanted to choose a classic song that will never go out of style and spoke to our relationship. The best part of our first dance was when my parents surprised us by having the dance floor lined with sparklers that shot up around us at the end of the song. We had absolutely no idea this was going to happen and it just made the dance that more special!"

On the role that family and friends played:

"For each night, we had friends/family MC the event and they all did an amazing job! For the Sangeet, my best friend, Ria, choreographed the Wedding Party dance and also helped me do a special surprise dance for Mos. My parent’s friend’s daughter, Gennie, helped choreograph dances for my parents and all their friends. And of course my parents, especially my mother, who spent countless sleepless nights to make sure the wedding went perfectly! But at the end of the day, the wedding would not have been anything if we didn’t have the 150 people who flew down to Mexico to celebrate with us- they really made the wedding what it was!"

Additional thoughts from the bride:

"We had amazing vendors that helped to make sure the wedding was flawless: Lian at Honeymoons Inc to help us pick out the amazing resort and book all of our guests; Val and Ana from Lomas; Cinthia and her team at El Dorado Royale; Luis at PW events for A/V needs; DJ Krishan for amazing music throughout the 3 days; Lightyear Studios for the gorgeous photos; and Veronica for her beautiful mehndi skills!"

Meet me back here tomorrow for another fantastic wedding wonder, Maharanis!

Maharani Sabrina, on her Raja's proposal:

"At the time I met Mos, I was going through an incredibly difficult time in my life. My brother had been diagnosed with a very rare and aggressive form of Sarcoma cancer. About 8 months after moving back to the US, my brother lost his battle to this horrible cancer. I can’t quite express the level of grief and helplessness I felt during that time but I know I wouldn’t have made through it without Mos there as my rock. I'm so grateful that not only did Mos get the chance to meet my big brother before he passed, but that they absolutely adored each other. It was one of my brother's last wishes for me to get married to Mos, and to not wait too long. So, after he passed, it was Mos's idea to run the NYC marathon because he wanted to find his own way of honoring my brother's memory by raising money for cancer research at Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital. At the finish line, I ran to greet him with a big hug and kiss. He then whispered in my ear that it was the most amazing day and that he wanted to put the icing on the cake. In front of our friends—who were all there to cheer him on—he kneeled down and asked me to marry him."

On her destination wedding style:

"The theme was chic elegance. For the ceremony, we wanted to highlight the ocean as our backdrop so we used ocean blue as the palette. I found my dream dress when my parents were visiting NYC and we went with my sister to yet another wedding dress store. It was the first dress I tried on there but I just knew from the moment I tried it on that it was “the one”.

We asked Malikah, my sister-in-law, to officiate our ceremony, which she graciously agreed to do. It was really special for us to have someone that was close to my brother do this and felt like he was there through her and his adorable kids that were our ring bearers."

On her hair and makeup:

"I had some vague ideas in mind but it did not all come together until I met with my stylist, Marilyn, who was amazing! I met with her earlier in the week to show her some photos as inspiration and talk through the general themes of the wedding. She listened, made suggestions, and was just wonderful to work with throughout the whole weekend."

On what she enjoyed most about planning her dream wedding:

"Both Mos and I have stressful jobs and because of this, my parents helped tremendously with the planning process. Although planning a three day destination wedding in Mexico can definitely be hard, it was really nice to have their help and in the process, bring us all closer together as a family. My parents even flew out to Mexico a few months before the wedding to meet with our vendors and make sure everything was on track. It really showed us how much they love and support as we began this journey together."

Make sure to check in with us later today for sensational celebratory details from Sabrina and Mos' reception!

Maharani Sabrina, on her sangeet style:

"For the sangeet, we wanted lots and lots of bright colors. The color palette was hot pink, purple, and orange. I worked with a designer, Jeetu, who is based in Mumbai to design the perfect lengha. I’m sure that I drove him crazy at some points with my indecision and constantly changing my mind but in the end, I absolutely loved our jointly created creation. Jeetu also helped design the sangeet lenghas for all my bridesmaids too, which came out amazing!"

On her most magical wedding moments:

"There were many magical moments but the one that really stands out was all the love that was shown to us during the Sangeet. Traditionally during a Sangeet, friends and family of the bride and groom put on fun and energetic dances. While I knew there were going to be some dances, I had no idea the extent to how many! Not only did my bridesmaids and groomsmen do a full medley of both Bollywood and American songs, the pinnacle of the night was when my aunt/uncles, in-laws, and parents’ friends did a couples’ medley at the end of the night. For this, each uncle did about a 1 minute dance with more than 25 couples (50 people) dances all together! It was absolutely amazing to see how much love and support that not only people have for Mos and I but also the love that my parents have from all their friends who participated. By the end, my hands were hurting from clapping so much but it was absolutely amazing."

Sabrina and Mos tie the knot in a breathtaking beachfront ceremony in Playa del Carmen, next!

Maharani Sabrina, on meeting the Raja of her dreams, Mohsin (a.k.a Mos):

"I met Mos while I was in London studying for my Masters in Public Policy at the London School of Economics. Mos was born and raised in London and was working at Nasdaq at the time we met. Our first date was at a cocktail bar named Milk & Honey where we bonded over our mutual love for the TV show Breaking Bad. Since I was on a student visa, we both knew my time was limited in London but after a few months of dating, Mos put in for a company transfer to his NYC office. I knew that any man that was willing to move across the world for me was a keeper and the rest is history"

On her destination wedding style:

"Our wedding was three days so we had to think about wedding style for each day. My mother and I did most of the design for the wedding. For the first day, which was the Welcome Party and Pithi, it was held on the Pool Deck with direct access to the beach. Because of this, we wanted to make it bright and a fun atmosphere so we hung lots of Chinese lanterns and used bright colors like green and marigold. We had a mehndi artist to do mehndi for guests during the welcome party/Pithi"

On her welcome party and Pithi style:

"For this look, I wanted something that was a melding of my South Asian roots and my upbringing in the US. I went back and forth many times on what I wanted for this outfit but in the end, I worked with the designer in Mumbai and through his suggestion, decided on the bottle green crop top and skirt with short cape design."

Stick with me today for even more of the breathtaking moments from Sabrina and Mos' destination dream in Playa del Carmen! We'll be checking out their sangeet highlights, next!
