Long Island, NY Indian Wedding by House of Talent Studio

Bhavna & Aniket's love story began with a nudge from fate—or should we say, their parents. What started as an arranged meeting on a wintery day in December blossomed into a heartfelt connection. For Bhavna, Aniket's calm demeanor and radiant simplicity were enough to know he was "the one." Fast forward to July 7, 2024, and the couple stood hand-in-hand at the breathtaking Leonard's Palazzo, ready to embark on their forever journey.

Bhavna's bridal look was a dream come true—literally. Adorned in a bespoke Frontier Raas lehenga embroidered with Aniket's name, she perfectly harmonized tradition and modernity. But what stole the show was her jewelry. Designed by none other than her father, a master jeweler from SS Jewellers, the emerald-and-diamond masterpieces told a story of familial love and legacy. Every piece sparkled with intricate craftsmanship, making Bhavna the true queen of the day.

Bhavna poured her heart and soul into every detail of the wedding. Each touch told a unique story, from custom wedding monograms to personalized ceremony guide cards. Her family's handmade petal cones added a sprinkle of love, while a thoughtfully chosen bridal entry song brought tears to everyone's eyes. Let's remember her mother's lehenga, embellished with real silver coins, or the picture-perfect coordination of her father and brothers in Jodhpuri outfits!

The vibrant decor by House of Dipali transformed the venue into a garden of dreams, with luscious florals adding bursts of color. Adding to this magical setting was Bhavna's mesmerizing mehndi, crafted by the immensely talented Henna by Inder. Each swirl and curve of the intricate design was a testament to her skill, weaving together delicate patterns that beautifully narrated Bhavna & Aniket's love story.

When capturing these memories, House of Talent Studio outdid themselves, creating a visual symphony that will be cherished for generations. Their talent for storytelling through the lens transformed every moment into a cinematic masterpiece. From the tender glances exchanged during the first look to the vibrant energy of the rituals and the heartfelt tears at the vidaai, their team captured it all with breathtaking precision.

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
It all began as an arranged setup by our parents. Although Aniket and I lived in the same city, our paths had never crossed before. However, since our dads knew each other through the same community, fate eventually brought us together.

Our first meeting took place on December 30, 2018. From the moment I met Aniket, his simplicity and calm demeanor stood out to me, leaving a lasting impression. There was an undeniable positive vibe in that very first meeting, something I couldn’t ignore. As we continued talking over the following days, my heart became certain: "Yes, he is the one—forever and always."

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
Story: On July 7, 2024, I married the love of my life, Aniket, in a dreamy ceremony in Long Island, NY. Planning the wedding alongside a full-time job felt like juggling two careers, but it was worth every moment. The day was a beautiful mix of overwhelming joy and the bittersweet ache of saying goodbye to my parents and family.

One of the most special highlights was wearing jewelry designed by my father and brother. My dad, a renowned jeweler in India, has an incredible talent for crafting exquisite pieces. Growing up, I was mesmerized by the stunning collections in his showroom, dreaming of wearing his creations on my wedding day. That dream came true as my parents and brothers adorned me with breathtaking gold, diamond, and emerald jewelry, making me feel like a princess.

Adding to the uniqueness of our day, my mom designed her own lehenga and embellished it with real silver coins, while my dad and brothers wore perfectly coordinated Jodhpuri outfits, creating a cohesive and elegant aesthetic. As a personal touch, I had Aniket’s name embroidered into my lehenga, tying together love, tradition, and individuality in the most beautiful way.

Every detail of the wedding held deep meaning. From our custom wedding monogram and the personalized wedding guide cards placed on each guest’s seat to the DIY petal cones created with love by my family and me, everything reflected our story. My bridal entry song was another carefully chosen touch, adding to the magic.

The rituals were heartfelt yet full of joy, creating a celebration brimming with laughter, dancing, and unforgettable memories. At the reception, I embraced my role as the talkative bride, sharing stories and laughs with our guests, making every moment even more special.

After five wonderful years together, becoming Aniket’s wife felt nothing short of surreal. It was a happiness I can't put into words—a moment I’ll cherish forever.

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
I've always been incredibly particular about choosing my outfits, so the thought of selecting my wedding dress was both thrilling and nerve-wracking. Years ago, when I was in India—long before I even got engaged—I would often tell my parents that whenever I'll get married, I’d do my wedding shopping from a Designer Wedding Trousseau store in Delhi.

Living in New York while mine and his family is in India, I explored several Indian bridal stores here but couldn’t find anything that truly resonated with me. To my delight, my parents remembered my dream of shopping in Delhi and went out of their way to make it happen. They traveled to Delhi, visited multiple stores, and video-called me to show the options. After much searching, I fell in love with a stunning wedding lehenga from Frontier Raas.

I requested a personalized touch by having Aniket’s name embroidered on the lehenga. Remarkably, I gave my measurements over a video call, which made me anxious about how it would fit or look on me since I couldn’t try it on beforehand. To my absolute relief and joy, when the lehenga arrived in New York and I finally tried it on, it fit perfectly!

I couldn’t wait to wear it on my wedding day. What made the experience even more special was that my parents selected not just my outfits but also Aniket’s outfits. Their involvement made everything feel so much more meaningful and unforgettable.

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
Planning my wedding along with a full-time job I felt like I am doing 2 jobs together but all It was a day filled with both overwhelming happiness and the bittersweet ache of leaving my parents and family behind. Best part was wearing the Jewelry designed by my father since he is a renowned Jeweler in India, since childhood I have seen amazing jewelry collection in dad's showroom and always wanted to be dolled up in the Jewelry made by him on my wedding day and that was my dream come true when my parents were getting me ready with all the Gold, diamonds and emerald jewelry for my wedding. Every detail was close to my heart, from our custom wedding monogram, the wedding guide card for ceremony on each guest's seat as well as diy petal cones designed and made by me and my family to the bridal entry song, I cherished planning each part myself. The rituals were not only meaningful but also incredibly fun, and the celebration was filled with laughter, dancing, and joy. At the reception, I was the talkative bride, sharing stories and laughs with everyone, making the day even more memorable. After five beautiful years together, becoming Aniket’s wife felt surreal, bringing a happiness beyond words and a lifetime of memories.

Even unique: My mom designed her own lehenga and embellished it with real silver coins. For the wedding my dad and brothers wore matching Jodhpuri Outfits for a beautifully coordinated aesthetic on my special day. I got my husband’s name embroidered in my Lehenga. My entire bridal jewelry was designed and made by my father.

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
Every moment of my wedding day was incredibly special, but the experience of getting ready and seeing myself as a bride was absolutely unforgettable. Gazing into the mirror and seeing myself in that role felt surreal—a moment I had dreamed of for so long.

Though my paternal grandfather and maternal grandmother are no longer with us, they will forever hold a cherished place in my heart, as I was their favorite grandchild. Aniket's grandparents who are no longer with us were equally beloved, and while none of them could be there physically, I felt their presence surrounding us. To honor their memory, we made sure to display their photos at the wedding venue—a small yet heartfelt way to include them in our celebration.

One of the most emotional moments was being walked down the aisle by my parents and brothers. Seeing the look on Aniket's face—filled with love and joy—is a memory I hold close to my heart and replay in my mind every day.

Standing together in the mandap, I was overwhelmed with the realization that we were about to embark on a brand-new chapter of our lives. It felt like stepping into a beautiful dream. And then came my Vidaai—a moment that was both heart-wrenching and profound. It still brings tears to my eyes, as it does for my parents. What made it bearable, and deeply comforting, was the way Aniket held my hand in the car afterward, silently promising to stand by me forever. That simple yet powerful gesture will always remain one of the most meaningful memories of my life.

Anything else you want to tell us? We'd love to hear all about your other details! (jewelry, mehndi, venue, cake, bouquets, etc.)

Itasca, IL Indian Wedding by WS Photography

If fairytales came to life, Simron & Rohan's South Asian wedding at the elegant Westin Chicago Northwest would undoubtedly be the plot. Nestled in the heart of Itasca, this luxurious venue is a dream come true for couples looking to blend modern sophistication with timeless traditions. With its picturesque surroundings, including serene lakes and lush greenery, the Westin was the perfect backdrop for a grandeur and romantic celebration.

The morning of the wedding began with Simron stepping into a bridal ensemble that was nothing less than a masterpiece. With intricate embroidery and hues of orange and gold, her outfit radiated traditional charm yet modern finesse. Styled to perfection by The Face Pro, Simron's look was an ode to regal beauty.

Simron's intricate mehndi by Unnati Shah carried meaning in every stroke. Hidden within the elegant swirls were deeply personal elements—like the airplane motif, symbolizing the couple's long-distance love story and countless flights to see each other. The wedding date was skillfully etched into the design, creating a timeless keepsake of their special day.

From coordinating the intricate pre-wedding ceremonies to ensuring every detail of the grand reception was flawless, Dream Events by Sonya proved why they are a go-to for South Asian celebrations. Rohan, equally dapper in his cream sherwani adorned with subtle golden details, entered like a king to claim his queen. The air was thick with anticipation as he awaited Simron at the beautifully adorned mandap designed by Prestige Wedding Decorations.

This magical moment was masterfully captured by the incredibly talented team at WS Photography, who have a knack for turning fleeting moments into timeless memories. Known for their artistic vision and ability to blend emotion with technical perfection, apart is their ability to make couples feel comfortable and confident in front of the camera.

Rohan and I have always cherished birthdays as moments of joy and celebration, but last year, mine became unforgettable. He planned a perfect day filled with my favorite things—brunch at Decadent (my go-to spot), exploring a local bookstore, and binge-watching our latest TV obsession, Hijack. Little did I know, the suspense of the show mirrored the nerves Rohan felt for what came next! The evening took a surprising turn under the guise of a birthday dinner with my best friend, who happens to share the same birthday. Instead, Rohan brought me to the picturesque bridge near Lincoln Park’s Honeycomb structure. There, a glowing "Marry Me" sign awaited as he got down on one knee and asked me to spend forever with him. When I said yes, I turned to find our photographer friend Ahad (@ahadbphoto) capturing the moment, and both of our families emerging from under the bridge with cheers and hugs. As if that wasn’t enough, Rohan had another surprise: a celebration at Hubbard Inn’s top floor, where our friends were waiting to dance the night away. We truly danced the night away, a hint of what was to be expected at our wedding given we both are dancers!

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
Planning our wedding was an incredible journey, blending our love for dance, our cultural heritage, and a deep desire to create a truly one-of-a-kind celebration. The first step was locking in our wedding planner and venue. I always knew I wanted Sonya from Dream Events by Sonya to plan our big day. As the founder of Shakti Queen Beats, I had worked with Sonya on countless weddings, choreographing for her clients. It felt like destiny to have her plan our own wedding.

When we toured venues, the Westin Chicago Northwest in Itasca stole our hearts. The stunning tented space was perfect for our ceremony, and with over 500 guests, it provided the comfort and grandeur we envisioned. The fact that Rohan’s parents were married in Itasca 35 years ago made the choice feel even more special.

Our vision was to make every detail unique and elegant, setting new trends while keeping our traditions and rituals alive. My bridal outfit was custom-made by Ramuli Creations in Orissa, my parents' hometown. Inspired by Rohan’s Rajasthani heritage, I chose a regal orange lehenga adorned with intricate work, paired with statement jewelry for a royal look, one I'm still obsessed with. Rohan’s anarkali sherwani complemented my outfit perfectly with pops of peach and orange. Our sangeet ensembles were vibrant, featuring yellow and seafoam green—a nod to saunf/mukhwas—while my sky-blue cape saree for the reception, designed by Mala and Kinnary, was a showstopper and one of my favorite outfits. Rohan matched the look with a custom-made sky-blue velvet tuxedo from Indochino.

For hair and makeup, Laura from FacePro exceeded every expectation. She created natural, radiant looks that aligned with my minimal makeup preferences while still ensuring I felt like a bride. My mom and I both adored her work. My bridal mehendi was done by Unnati who was an absolute wiz incorporating elements like the Chicago and Pittsburgh skylines, as well as a tooth to represent my husband's career as a dentist.

Our decor was inspired by a “big fat Bollywood wedding” theme, with Prestige Wedding Decor and Sonya bringing our vision to life. The sangeet was an enchanting “night under the stars,” featuring blue canopies and lanterns. The mandap and reception were breathtaking, with peach and white floral arrangements and a grand tree with floating glass lights serving as the centerpiece. Getting married under this floral tree was a dream come true.

Catering was another highlight of our celebration. Ashyana Catering delivered a culinary experience that left our guests raving, with standout dishes like mutton curry and paan kulfi. Absolute BBQ added flair to our Haldi lunch with live dosa and grilled paneer stations.

As Rohan and I are both dancers (Rohan was captain of his college bhangra team First Class Bhangra), entertainment was at the heart of our wedding. From a mother-daughter dance with my mom (a nod to our many performances together) to our choreographed first dance blending both ballroom and bhangra to a custom mix by our DJ Dr. Srimix, every moment was filled with rhythm and joy. Our family and friends dazzled with their performances, and the grand finale featured my Shakti Queen Beats team and Rohan’s First Class Bhangra team, complete with flips and towers.

Capturing all these moments were WS Photography and Aria Films, who documented every laugh, tear, and dance move with perfection.

Our wedding was everything we dreamed of and more—a celebration of love, culture, and the people who mean the world to us.

It is a testament to the magic that happens when two souls come together to celebrate their journey.

Their Gujarati wedding at the iconic Hard Rock Riviera Maya was nothing short of a Bollywood blockbuster, brimming with vibrant traditions, heartfelt moments, and jaw-dropping elegance.

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
From the moment we first met there was an instant connection, we very quickly developed a lot of inside jokes, and conversations were never boring, but at the same time silence was also comfortable and not awkward with him. Even his weird habits weren't all that weird to me! I think there wasn't a singular moment when I knew he was "the one", but rather just one day there was sort of a realization that through his words and actions and how caring and funny he is, that he truly is my best friend and I can't imagine a future without him. That's probably a pretty standard answer, but it is true I guess I just knew!

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
I definitely wasn't expecting it! He came to Houston during February for Valentine's Day, and we were getting ready to go out to meet up for a friend's birthday dinner. I was done getting ready and waiting for him in our living room (which never happens right? When is the girl ready before the guy ever!). I called out to see if he was ready, and he shouted back "I need a few more minutes!" from his room, and I was getting a little worried because we were running late already for the dinner! He comes out holding something behind his back, and asks if I would like to open my Valentine's gift early. At first I said no (since we were already running late), but I saw him get a little sad, so I told him "okay really quickly I'll open it!" He gave me a rose, but it wasn't an ordinary rose, so he told me I needed to open it! And when I opened it, it was a rose jewelry box, and the ring was inside! He was very nervous but got down one knee and asked me to marry him, and I of course said yes! It was very nice, private, and definitely unexpected for sure! I definitely apologized for rushing him afterward, I felt so bad!

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
We decided to have our wedding in Cancun, my dad had always told me a destination wedding would be lots of fun so I have him to thank for the idea! My parents went and toured various hotels in Cancun and Riviera Maya, which helped with deciding on a venue! We planned our wedding through Pyaar Planning Mexico, which was a huge help! They were very knowledgeable about vendors and pricing and gave us great advice to make sure our day was perfect! We had lots of Google Meet video calls to discuss details and make sure everything was perfect. We were able to do a site visit 3 months before the wedding at the hotel, where we got to pick locations for all the events/ceremonies, talk to our decorator and florist finalize ideas, and we got to trial our hair/makeup, and do our engagement shoot with our photographer and videographer. All of our vendors were, hands down, the best vendors; our wedding turned out exactly as we had dreamed it to be! From the big ticket items down to the tiny little details, our experience with them truly made our wedding fun, spectacular, and memorable for everyone! Our vendors were truly special to us, if you ask us, they are now part of our family!

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
Buying my wedding dress was actually a happy accident, we were in the UK visiting family over Christmas holiday, and we went to Leicester and Southall to look for wedding favors and outfits for my family. I wasn't planning on buying anything for myself as I thought my family would want to look for an outfit in India instead; however, we eventually started to wander towards the bridal sections of shops to see what styles were available and to narrow down a color I wanted (At the time I was deciding between a maroon or green outfit for the big day since I usually look good in those colors!). We eventually found ourselves in Vivah Fashions UK in Leicester, and while we were looking, my mom saw an outfit folded away under other clothing items. She asked for it to be pulled out, and when the lady helping us held it up to me I knew instantly that it was the lehenga I was going to get married in! The pearl and floral embroidery were so beautiful and the sparkle the lehenga had was gorgeous!! And funnily the lehenga was deep red, not maroon or green like I was originally thinking!

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
For me, the most enjoyable part of the planning process was getting to talk about my ideas and the details with my family, groom, and planner! Talking about everything with them helped me get really excited because they all helped me find ways to make everything we wanted happen, and I think it also got everyone else excited to because they got to see it all come together as well! Also, it was so exciting to see everything go from ideas and conversation to reality!

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
Our guests shared with us that they really enjoyed getting to have a vacation and wedding all in one trip! They shared that they liked how on time the events were, and because of how we spaced out the events, they had lots of time to relax and enjoy their time in Mexico! They shared that they enjoyed the resort, the food, and the decor and that they enjoyed getting to know each other as they celebrated together. I got to see people who have never met before become friends and enjoy the celebrations as much as we did, and I think that's truly special.

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
I shared a lot of special moments with the groom and our families of course, but I think one moment I replay over and over again is our first look. We weren't sure if we wanted to do a first look before the ceremony, but we decided to go for it and it ended up being a really special moment! It not only gave us a chance to get some really good pictures, but it really allowed us to have a small part during all of the festivities where it was just us together where we got to talk and be alone for a bit before we continued on with the rest of the ceremony day with our family and friends.

For events other than your ceremony, please tell us as much as you would like about the decor, style, dances, and all the special details.
For the flowers I had complete trust in my parents to decide on those. They are florists by trade, so the flowers had to be perfect! You can ask my planner how particular my dad was about them! But I think the flowers turned out perfect!!
Color schemes mainly centered around our outfits and our favorites. I knew that the Mehndi was my favorite part of any wedding, so I picked my favorite color, green, and accented it with peach. For the Sangeet, we just wanted colorful and vibrant colors, but we weren't very picky. For the Haldi, we decided to go for colorful and bright; we wore yellow and white but had bright hot pinks and light blue to accent the yellows; for the Wedding Ceremony, we went traditional red and pink, which also matched my outfit, and for the Reception we went with the groom's favorite color navy blue and centered accent colors around that (white and lavender).
I have my sister to thank for coordinating all the dances and the sangeet games; she worked so hard and coordinated all the activities for the sangeet and reception! She's amazing! Jeopardy the Shivani Edition was a lot of fun to watch!

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
Wedding planning can be very stressful! Remember to have fun and ask for help if you need it! Don't forget it's your day and about what you want! Be flexible; there are bound to be hiccups, but don't worry, it will all be wonderful and special in the end!!!

Anything else you want to tell us? We'd love to hear all about your other details! (jewelry, mehndi, venue, cake, bouquets, etc.)
