Happy Tuesday, beautiful Maharanis! It is time for a new fusing wedding, and we are sure that this is one fabulous event that you will love so much! So, let's not wait any longer and get ready to enjoy all the fantastic details surrounding Ekta & Owen's wedding festivities! This time we'll be taking you to The Ranch Golf Club to join this lovely couple at their outdoor wedding ceremony. And right off the bat, we can tell you that this was a beautiful ceremony where two different traditions and backgrounds mingle into one love story. The captivating landscape combined with the gorgeous floral arrangements and the on-point placement of all the traditional fabrics became the perfect backdrop for Ekta & Owen to say "I do" in the company of their loved ones. So, big kudos to Avant Planners and Dazzling Streaks Events for the perfect planning and designing of this event! Although the setting was alluring on its own, it was our gorgeous Maharani who stole the show! It doesn't matter if she is rocking a traditional lengha or a white wedding gown, she is always the prettiest girl in the room! And we cannot stress how much we love the two attires she chose for the different events! And, we want to thank our good friends at Killer Creations Photography and Cinematography for sharing these spectacular photos showcasing the most memorable moments of this wedding. Every shot is a visual masterpiece you don't want to miss! So, don't think twice and get ready to dive into this real-life fairytale by heading over to this jaw-dropping gallery. Believe me; you'll be amazed!
How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
I met my husband at my friend's 21st birthday party when I was in college. We had a few mutual friends but had never overlapped until that night. Almost immediately we found out we both loved sushi so we made plans to get sushi for dinner together later that week. Many a sushi date later, we've now been together for 7 years. I can't think of one moment when I knew he was the one. It's just been a combination of growing up and growing together through the years--no matter what life has thrown our way. There's no one else I would want to share this journey with.
Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
We spent about 4 years doing long distance from CA to VA while I was in medical school so my husband would fly out every few months to visit me. During my third year of medical school, he flew up one weekend and we decided to take a weekend trip to Washington DC. When we got there, he insisted that we go to the Washington Monument before dinner and take pictures. At the monument, he handed my phone to someone to take a picture of us. When I turned to look at him, he was down on one knee proposing. I was hysterical and couldn't believe it was happening! But somewhere in all my excitement I think I managed to say yes and the rest is history!
Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
My wedding hit a year delay due to the COVID 19 pandemic. We downscaled the wedding from 350 people to 150 right as things started opening up in 2021. All of the vendors I worked with from hair/makeup, decorator, day of event coordination, photography, DJ, catering, and venue were all AMAZING!
How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
I always wanted to wear a traditional red lengha for my wedding so that's the color I was exclusively looking for when I shopped. I found my dream dress at Kalki fashion in Mumbai. I am still obsessed with the way it looked on the day of!
What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
Planning was honestly quite stressful especially when the pandemic and the delays it caused. I didn't necessarily enjoy the planning, but it was completely worth it when I saw the final results.
