Sweetheart Sunday Winners ~ Sabrina & Sahir

It's Sweetheart Sunday, Maharanis, and I am all giddy after seeing these exuberant pics! Engagement portraits are so fabulous because the absolutely overflow with excitement and unabashed happiness. I mean, look at these two—they could not beam any brighter if they were rays of summer sunshine. They should be on a Valentine's Day card! I love Maharani Sabrina's hot pink sleeveless number and too-cute coordinating belt. Oh, to be young, in love, and entirely fashionable! Whether these two are gazing into each other's eyes, dancing in the street, or enjoying an afternoon picnic, they are the picture of true love bliss. Are you as enthusiastic about seeing their soon-to-be wedding pics too! Wanna hear something else seriously charming about this couple? Raja Sahir proposed by way of an elaborate scavenger hunt and at the end, he was there on bended knee! Kudos to you, Sahir! I don't know about you, lovelies, but I'm on my way to the gallery!

Princeton, NJ Indian Wedding by Tara Sharma Photography

Good morning, lovely Maharanis! Today I am elated to be bringing you this super gorgeous Indian wedding that sparkles from start to finish (just wait until we get to the amazing peaches-and-cream-colored reception!). Our Maharani is getting all dolled up thanks to the unmatched talents of KC Makeup by Karuna Chani while her sherwani-clad Raja completes his ensemble by slipping into a pair of ruby khusse. These two are so stylish! With a sheer scarlet dupatta accenting her choli lengha, this bride is ready to step outside into the New Jersey sunshine to meet her beloved for some adorable first-look pics by Tara Sharma Photography. Her gold tikka and coordinating bridal jewels are a glimmering sight; I love how they so perfectly frame her face in the last portrait! Until we get to their beautiful ceremony styled by Elegant Affairs Inc, I'll be adoring the entire gallery!

Some words from the bride, Pooja: "The most magical moment was when I walked up from behind my husband and surprised him in my wedding attire. The smile on his face and the meeting was magical. It was the feeling that everything was perfect. His embrace very comforting."
Stay tuned for more breathtaking beauty, including a phenomenal reception by Moghul Caterers and Bollywood Djs!

Parsippany, New Jersey Indian Wedding by Lightyear Studio

This Maharani is sporting the most important of all bridal accessories....a megawatt smile!  I just can't stop staring at these two; you can almost feel their excitement in these images by Lightyear Studio.  To a mandap of arches draped with red & white by Ravi Verma Wedding Design and surrounded by their family and friends, Reena made her grand entrance Maharani style, in a dholi, of course! If you ask me though, my favorite detail hands down are the lush, rose Jai Malas by Anderson Flowers.  You must follow me to the gallery so you can see a close-up of our bride's eye make up by Singhar by Ayesha.  Trust me, you won't want to miss it!
About their engagement from Maharani Reena :
Every tuesday since we both started working was our date night because it was the only day that we both had off. So we would go out and try different sushi restaurants all the time.. it sort of became our thing. I had come back from a vacation and we had gone to our usual sushi Tuesday date, and Ronak had set up some stuff with the manager where we can make our own sushi rolls. After we went and did that, he said he would cut it and bring it to us to eat. When the plate arrived it had our rolls in a heart shape and inside it said will you marry me and he was besides me bending on one knee.. What makes the story even more amazing is that he had the whole thing video taped so we have it to share forever!
More of these two cuties coming right up!

4 Tips For Better Photos At Your Family or Engagement Shoot!

Well hello, Maharanis!  I hope that you are having a fabulous Saturday so far.  Alexander turned 6 months old and you know me, I used it as an excuse to get all gussied up and get some photographs taken of our family.  I called up my dear friend, Vijay, of Wedding Documentary Photo + Video, and we headed to the Palace of Fine Arts to create some memories.   And, here is what we came up with...

Not bad, huh?  I am excited to create a gallery wall in our living room using these pictures. After doing this shoot, I came up with 4 tips to get better images out of any family or engagement session :
1. Props – A few props can make your pictures really pop. I used matching bow ties for this shoot, because I am obsessed with dressing my husband and son alike. I love when people get into a theme for their shoot. And here’s a short list of some of my favorite photo shoot props: picnic basket in the park, wine & cheese, scrabble, balloons, or your puppy! Anything that reflects your personal style is sure to equal adorable pictures!
2. Try different expressions – Personally, I don’t like photographs of myself with a serious face, so playing with Alexander and looking to the side in pictures adds diversity to the shoot.
3. Stand up straight! It’s the biggest lesson I learned from this shoot . There are a few CUTE pictures that got tossed out, just because I am slouching over. Total bummer.
4. Lastly, have fun! Our family shoot was one of the most fun days we have had in a while, so pick a photographer you are comfortable with and go for it! I think it works best to be “inspired by blogs” and instead of trying to recreate a particular shot you saw on a site. Just let the creativity flow and be spontaneous. You never know what you will come up with!
I would love to know, what are you planning for your engagement or family shoot?

Sunday Sweetheart Winners ~ Pooja & Devang by House of Talent Studios

Love is in the air on this fabulous Sweetheart Sunday! Today House of Talent Studios brings us some adorable shots of lovebirds Pooja and Devang during an engagement portrait session. It looks like they've hopped right out of a Bollywood musical number as they frolic through Central Park in some seriously sweet ensembles. Pooja is a complete show-stopper in her bold red sari and effortless hair and makeup! And her future hubby, Devang, doesn't look too shabby himself as he complements her flawless look. I can't help but feel the love as this perfect pair steal precious moments in one of the most wonderful cities in the world! Sigh! I need an iced chai tea latte and a few reruns of Sex and the City stat in order to cure this love hangover! Or maybe, I should just check out the gallery? See you there, Maharanis!

Come back tomorrow for more Maharani madness!
