Five Tips for Finding the Best Indian Wedding Decorators

Discovering the finest Indian wedding decorators does not have to be an exercise in futility. There are many ways you can ensure that finding the perfect wedding decorator will be a pleasurable experience for you, your spouse, and your family. Here are five tips for making certain that you find the right decorator to bring out the finest features of the Indian wedding venue you choose to hold your wedding ceremony in.

Read Online Reviews

This is the first thing you should do whenever you have the opportunity to choose a new vendor, regardless of the purpose. Online reviews give people the opportunity to openly discuss things they may not feel comfortable revealing in a face-to-face chat, highlighting challenges that you may not even know exists.

Just remember to take the reviews with a grain of salt. It is human nature to spend more time complaining than complimenting.

Speak with a Wedding Planner

Planning a wedding is something you get better at with practice. As such, it makes sense to turn to those that do it every day for expert advice as to what you need to focus on, and who to choose.

Make a point to ask the planner what his experience is with sourcing vendors at the start – knowing how much help you can expect can make the difference between having the support you need and being left to your own devices when it comes time to find the perfect Indian wedding decorator.

Review Samples

Like with many things in life – especially wedding planning – beauty is in the eye of the beholder. When it comes time to select a wedding planner, take the time to ask for numerous samples from all. It is best to see the results that come from planning weddings with different themes.

Make certain that the samples come in both picture and video form – alongside descriptions as to what the client requested. Seeing the plan and the implementation together will make it vastly easier to see if the prospective decorator has the talent and experience needed to take your wedding theme dream and turn it into a reality.

Speak with a Venue Director

Wedding venues see hundreds of decorators cross their doors every year. The directors will, obviously, notice which decorators are capable of tackling the most difficult of wedding themes. Take advantage of this experience by asking which decorators they would recommend to you.

Just make certain that you exercise due diligence if you go this route. Consider this an opportunity to narrow the field – not completely eliminate the need to search. Review samples, get quotes and speak with prior clients.

Try Out the Decorator

The average wedding decorator often provides their services for a wide variety of different events. If possible, use this to your advantage by having the decorator work with you on a party or special occasion. This will give you hands-on experience with tackling every detail of planning a special gathering without the stress that comes with a wedding ceremony.

Indian Wedding Floral and Decor Ideas

Planning and hosting a beautiful wedding is the greatest hope many young couples have as they set out to start building a life together. However, planning the perfect ceremony can be perceived to be a nearly insurmountable challenge for those with limited experience in such matters. Here are some ideas to help you when it comes time to decide which Indian wedding floral and decoration choices best showcase your love and devotion.

Venue Selection

Traditional Indian weddings are held outdoors. This helps connect the couple with nature and solve the perennial challenge of figuring out where to put all the guests. Take a look at all the unique outdoor places surrounding your community and see which of them would be ideal to host a large gathering.

You do not need to spend a fortune to find the perfect place. It can be truly amazing at how beautiful a wedding at the local national park can be. Just make certain you find the venue first before making any design choices. For instance, using drapes in a windswept plain may not be the wisest design choice you could make.

Lighting

Indian culture places a large amount of emphasis on lighting. The more of it, the better. Especially during the actual wedding ceremony and final reception. A good way to make certain there are no blind spots is to do a quick walk-through the day before the ceremonies and add additional strings of lights wherever a shadow has the audacity to appear.

Make certain that you do not have the lighting stand out on its own. Incorporate each fixture into some other component, for instance have the LED strands mixed in with floral arrangements to make the flowers truly come alive.

Color Schemes and Details

Indian weddings are world-renowned for being among the most elegant and impeccably designed events in modern human history. One of the most important component that goes into designing these weddings is determining the perfect color scheme to use. Here are some of the most popular color palates you can use when designing your special day.

Gold and Silver

When mixed with modern LED light strands, gold and silver can truly pop when used in a natural setting. Imagine how your Mandap will look decked out in gold next to beautiful trees and green-filled hills.

Lilly White and Opal

White, while not traditional, can be truly effective if your goal is to highlight how others look. If you wish to make those attending your wedding the centerpiece, then muting the colors of the decoration is the way to go!

Purple and White

Traditional Indian weddings are often filled with marigolds and roses. Purple orchids have recently grown in popularity, so by mixing them with white flowers and drapes you can add modern design elements to a traditional ceremony with ease. Plus the rich contrast between purple and greenery will look amazing during the ceremony!

Flowers

The right flowers can help turn a nice wedding into one for the record books. Make certain to incorporate a multitude of flowers like roses, orchids, and marigolds to create a color-and-scent filled experience no one will ever forget!

Start the floral decorations with the engagement ceremony. This will give you a base to use when deciding the right flowers to incorporate in all the other ceremonies.

Designing and hosting a truly unique wedding requires a great deal of consideration and courage. Take your time to carefully consider every option in front of you. Don’t be afraid to do something different - after all, all dearly held traditions were brand new at some point!

Maharani Puja, on her and Chetan's first dance song pick:

"Chetan and I slow danced to At Last by Etta James. We picked this song because of exactly what the lyrics say, " At last my love has come along and life is like a song.""

On the role family and friends played:

"There would have been no wedding without them! Our families were a part of everything from the proposal to the last song at the reception. For Chetan, because his dad passed away, his mom did everything for him. She was his biggest support system. And for me, I had my parents/siblings behind me in the US and my relatives in India who helped me with all the shopping, etc. They were my rock-they held me together. My mamaji from India also performed a traditional saant (prayer) on the day of my banaa/mendhi."

How lovely was today's featured wedding, my dears? We'll see you tomorrow for another fabulous affair!
