From the bride, on the wedding style:

"Vishnu and I got married on June 15, 2014 and it was the greatest day of my life. Both of us have spent most of our lives in New England so when we first spotted Lake Pearl we knew it was the perfect location. The big lake is surrounded by beautiful scenery and it was a perfect quaint location for our perfect Indian Wedding. We wanted a location on the water since "large bodies of water" played a significant role in our relationship. I did not want the typical Indian Wedding a hotel location. I wanted a traditional wedding that represented our "American Born" lifestyle. We were the first Indian wedding to take place at Lake Pearl. The day was gorgeous. Sunny with a cool breeze. We had around 316 people at the wedding, which took place over four days of traditional Indian ceremonies. We both are middle children and were not looking for grand gestures or being the center of attention, but we wanted to follow our Indian traditions since it was both important to us and our families while also sticking to our budget. Alankar Decorators did an amazing job with our Mandap and Reception Backdrop which I designed with Shobha Shastry. All of the sangeet and wedding favors (Taj Majal Wedding coasters), invitations, programs and sarees came straight from India during a trip I took earlier that year in February. The centerpieces for the reception were made both by Alankar Decorators (Orchid Trees) and Mendon Greenhouse (Flower arrangement). Instead of table numbers, we had table names identify people and things that were significant to us. Descriptions were at each table. We planned this amazing 4 day 300+ people wedding on a budget within 8 months and it was absolutely perfect. Another special moment was when I was carried down the isle on a Dholi by all my favorite brothers. As I was carried down, one of my favorite songs were playing Aaj Mere Piya Ghar Aavenge by Kailash Kher. I just remember the look on Vishnu's face as he watched me. I honestly dont remember anyone else all around us. He was just fixed with love in his eyes. It was one of my favorite moments."

On a special moment:

"My favorite moment was when Vishnu first saw me. We did a private "first look" with the photographer and did some pre-wedding pictures. Before turning around, Vishnu asked me a series of super silly yet private questions to ensure it was me who was standing behind him. Once I got all these question right, he turned around and told me I was breathtaking."

On family and friends helping:

"The entire wedding was planned  by family and friends. My parents were a huge help and very supportive throughout the entire event. Childhood family friends and neighbors had weekly meetings and had certain tasks assigned. We all worked as a community. I couldn't do it without them. My entire Mendhi and Sangeet was planned by family friends. It was so special for that reason. I was very hands-off. My older sister Ruchika was a huge help. She is very creative and helped me a lot with decision on place-settings, center-pieces, style, and favors. She pretty much helped me plan the entire thing. I would run everything by her. She had a pinterest account set up for me and would constantly be sharing ideas. She did a lot of DYO projects for the wedding. She designed the table names and the menu cards. She helped me with the florist and cake design. She designed and bought the cake topper. I didnt want to have a typical Indian Buffet so I worked with both Lake Pearl and Sanjiv from Kabob and Curry to have a magnificent family style dinner. Each item was made on site at Lake Pearl so it was fresh. That was important to me. Each place setting had a menu describing the dinner- that too was made and designed by my sister. So everyone knew what they were eating. She was a great Maid-of-Honor."

On her favorite part of planning:

"My favorite thing was going to India with my parents to shop for all our wedding clothes, decor, stationary, and favors. This time was so fun. I really got to spend some quality time with my parents and really have deep conversations about marriage, love and trust with them. I was a pretty hands-off bride. I wasnt overly opinionated about any particular item for the wedding besides following traditional ceremonies. I was really trying to make sure everyone was happy and satisfied with that day. I didnt see it as "This is all about Me and Vishnu. " It was really the joining of two families and I wanted to make sure our parents were well represented also."

See the dashing pair get ready for their reception, next!

From the bride, on the wedding style:

"For the ceremony, I wanted it to be very girly with pinks, reds, and whites. I gave my decorator free reign to the design, but had one specific request: a floating floral Ganeshji made out of rose petals. This was actually something I saw on another Maharani's wedding that I knew was a must have for me. She did an amazing job with my mandap and my Ganeshji. It was by far my favorite piece of decor."

The portrait session is coming up!

Miami, FL Indian Wedding by Nami Dadlani Photography

It's hard to not have a fabulous event at a fabulous venue like the Turnberry Isle Miami, but throw in some of the most inspiring and luxurious floral and decor, and you can safely say you've hit it out of the park. Petal Productions has transformed the reception space into a lavish setting fit for a Maharani on her big day, and the proof is in the pudding — in this case, the pudding is a collection of stunning images captured by Nami Dadlani Photography. The mandap has seamlessly evolved from ceremony to after-party, and is now a romantic sweetheart stage. I adore the darling, gold mirrored bud vases and the bunches of cascading orchid centerpieces. The tablescapes are just phenomenal. Cookie Pursonality designed a sweet wedding cake in white and gold that plays in perfectly with every other striking element from this amazing affair. There are numerous, gorgeous details beyond just these ones here, and to see them all head on over to the complete gallery.
