Maharani Deepti, on how she met the Raja of her dreams, Jeff:

"Jeff is originally from New York and we first met on one of his trips to LA (which is where I am from). We started talking on the phone a lot after he left but I realized he is the one when everything just started falling in place. It was just so natural and organic. Turned out that he grew up with some of my closest friends from New York and at our wedding, a good portion of guest list was common. It was almost like we could have met years ago but instead met just when the time was right."

On her Raja's proposal:

"He surprised me at one of my favorite places - the beach (Santa Monica). He planned it out with my family and had me show up there to find him in a suite on the sand down on one knee with a singer in the background singing one of our favorite song on the guitar and a photographer capturing everything. The moment surpassed every version of it that I had ever imagined all my life."

On her wedding style:

"We didn't have a color palette or theme but there were two things that I always envisioned would be part of my wedding - outdoors surrounded by water and personalizing/DIYing every bit that I could. We were very lucky to find Hyatt in Jersey City with an outdoor ceremony venue surrounded by beautiful Hudson river. I also got tons of help in doing all sorts of crazy personalized projects like custom wedding card with some funky verbaige, hand painted bridesmaids boxes, handpainted guest welcome boxes that included personalized newspaper, handmade coffee bags from Intelligentsia Coffee where we had our first date, snacks, etc. We also had tons of personalized fun signs at the wedding, fans, sunglasses (that produced most fun pictures with priests wearing white sunglasses during the ceremony). I was also lucky with an amazing Mehendi artist who was able to personalize my heena with Brooklyn bridge on one arm and Santa Monica pier on the other representing the two coasts where we are from."

On what she loved most about planning her wedding:

"The process of planning isn't easy but only after it's over, we realized how close it brought all of us - Jeff and I, our families, our friends."

On shopping for her lenghas:

"I went to India for all the shopping. I didn't have any major set preferences except traditional Punjabi red for the wedding and golden for the reception which I was finally able to find."

On what she remembers most about her wedding day:

"The biggest thing that stood out to me what how blissed out we were the entire day. A lot of people told us before the wedding that things will go wrong and not as planned but don't let that affect you. That day I didn't have a single thing that was stressed about. People were commenting how giggly and happy we were the entire day."

On whether or not her and Raja Jeff had a special song:

"Yes!! 'Stand by Me' and we did our entrance on 'Walking on the moon' by Kanye West. I was adamant about not 'just walking in' and tasked my creative fiance on coming up with an entrance idea. He came up with this fun idea of doing our grand entrance from two different doors on hoverboards. That turned out to be a little scary with my heavy long dresses but we pulled it off and loved every second of it."

On the role that family and friends played:

"My sister and Jeff's friends made it all possible. They were the sole reason we were able to have so much fun at our wedding and not worry about the details."

Additional thoughts from the bride:

"All of the vendors from the planners to caterers to decorators turned out soooo good. If we have to do it all over again I would hire all the same people. Planned a wedding from 3000 miles away but at the end of the day, I was so thankful for all the vendors we had who went above and beyond to shape up the best day of our lives."

Just fabulous, right, Maharanis?
