I feel grateful and blessed to have such a supportive and loving family as they were by my side every step of the process. A special thank you to my parents and sister for making sure our wedding day was nothing short of perfect!"

From the bride, on the proposal:

"Amit proposed to me at Morris Arboretum, and it couldn't have been more perfect! My cousins and sister were behind the whole scam leading up to the proposal. I was told we were going to Morris Arboretum for my cousin's graduation lunch. Once we got there, I was then asked to sit on the stairs in the gardens and was handed an Ipad. My heart started racing because I knew what was going to happen next! On the Ipad was a video full of messages from Amit, my parents, his parents, and close family and friends. As I was done watching, I got up and turned around and found Amit on one knee with a gorgeous ring. My heart melted! Soon after, we went to CPK for lunch (our first date), the art museum (where he asked me to be his girlfriend), and then ended the night with a surprise gathering of our close family and friends! It was one of the most amazing and memorable days of my life!"

On what she enjoyed most about planning:

"I loved how my whole family would come together on weekends to prepare for the wedding, whether it was making food, house improvement projects, or just laughing and having fun. It was a blast!"

The first look photo shoot is next!

Los Angeles, CA Sikh Wedding by Greycard Photography

Are you ready for the most glamorous reception portraits and details you've ever seen? I sure hope so because either way, you're getting them right now! Maharani Nisha has swapped her red bridal lengha for a breathtaking creation by Michael Costello. The strapless teal, layered mermaid gown is out-of-this-world. Seriously, though. SO. AMAZING. Dolled up by Lulu has given our Sikh bride the true Hollywood glam treatment with hair and makeup looks that are red carpet-ready. We're particularly loving her magenta-colored lips! So much style. Hinal's Beauty Studio's incredible mehndi work is a reminder of this contemporary Indian bride's roots, and such a striking element to her overall look. Greycard Photography captured Nisha and her hubby, Mehtab (who's so seriously handsome in his black and white tux), in a batch of brilliant reception portraits at Downtown Los Angeles' historic Union Station, where Electric Karma International has planned and designed the most unforgettably divine evening for the happy couple and their special guests. Just check out a sampling of some of the majorly fab floral and decor details by AOO Events below! You'll get to see much more from this illuminating evening in just a bit, but if you're impatient like me and thirsting for more right this second, you can take a quick peek at some of the memorable moments coming up in the gallery!

From the bride, on the wedding style:

"My wedding style started with the fusion of two different cultures: both Indian and Italian. Luckily, both cultures appreciate over-the-top elaborateness as well as good food and wine. Thus, my wedding style consisted of things that were, in my opinion, larger than life. From crystal accents to enormous flower centerpieces, I wanted my wedding to reflect opulence, class, and romance. Dim lighting and lit candles helped set this tone, and once I settled upon a color (deep purple with lime green accents), I chose rich linens and accent lighting that would contribute to this tone. The focal point of the evening reception consisted of an opulent stage dressed with manzanita trees, orchids, and beautiful crystals to complete my opulent and romantic vision."

Our bride wears a white wedding dress, coming up!

The bride, on her wedding style:

"I wanted to keep it very simple, elegant and classy. I first started with the themes or color palettes I wanted for each function: for example, the ring ceremony was an elegant affair, with draping around the entire room for an intimate, romantic feel. My outfit was a dark navy color with antique bronze work throughout. We added small personalization affects to each function, and for the ring ceremony we chose an all white and blue candy bar plus well-needed hangover kits for our lovely guests.
Again, we kept it very simple and focused on keeping our guests happy!"

Stick around to see the happy couple strike a post for the camera in their reception portraits!
