From the bride, on the style:

"For the wedding ceremony look, we wanted to go for a Jodha-Akbar type of style. My mom and I researched a TON before we found my ideal wedding outfit. It had a quite a bit of peacock prints on it...so with that and the Jodha Akbar look, we created a unique theme that combined both those elements when it came to decorating the mandap and deciding the look of the wedding ceremony. My makeup/hair artist, Sanjana Vaswami, took my idea and truly delivered by making me feel like a maharani the day of!"

The long-awaited ceremony is on its way!

From the bride, on how they met:

"Meeting Parth was not something I had planned at all. I went to a swing dancing class my Freshman year. I was a bit late so I searched the room until I found this guy wearing a button down shirt with rolled up sleeves and a big smile on his face. Little did I know that he would be my dance partner for life. We kept in touch through the years but he was so involved in almost every organization on campus, pledging for a fraternity, exceling in his school work and having great rapport with his peers and his professors, we kind of got lost in our busy lives. However he definitely juggled it all. Even though we were officers in an Indian Cultural Association together, I didn’t see the true side of him until we both took a Hindi course together our Junior year. As he teased me incessantly, I caught onto his cultured and respectful side throughout conversation. I admired his ability to be so well-rounded and that is when the puzzle of my Raja became complete. Since then we have shared 6 years of beautiful memories; graduating college as he gave our class speech, getting accepted into medical school with 4 years of distance making us even closer, celebrating numerous birthdays, exploring delectable food and just being silly. I am so thankful for God, my family, friends and life’s journey for allowing me to meet such an admirable, respectable, intelligent and giving man. I truly am living my dream and can definitely say that where there is love, there is life."

On the proposal:

"The proposal was ever so thoughtful. I was definitely blind-sided as it was my birthday, and I had gone out the night before with friends. My beau at the time had irritated me as he could only make it for one night to see me because he had "made plans" with his friends in Houston the night before. I was a bit frustrated because we hardly saw each other monthly as we went to med schools 4 hours away. However, throughout it all he was actually in Dallas prepping for what I didn't know was going to be the most memorable time in my life. The day of the Proposal, 3/16/2014, we were celebrating my birthday as it was 2 days prior. He was "running late" as usual and came to my apt door dressed so fresh and was taking me to brunch at the Reata in Fort Worth. He is always extravagant with his birthday celebrations for me and we try to surprise each other yearly, so I knew it was going to be great. We went to the rooftop bar and we heard beautiful classical music playing around the corner. I wanted to listen to it as I have played the violin for 14 years. I was walking down these steps filled with flower petals and recognized the song, my favorite song of all time "Suraj Hua Madham" from the movie K3G! I saw pictures of us on this table and I was like omg this birthday is epic! Then he turned around and started speaking and he was shaking a bit but I didn't know why until he hugged me, and then I knew this was NOT for my birthday. He went on his knee and sayed words that were all a blur, pulled out a gorgeous ring from Robbin's Brothers and proposed. I was speechless, whispered yes which he didn't hear and asked if I liked the ring lol. At that point I was so excited but filled with so many emotions, I just kept tearing and thinking about everything. And to top it all off, some of our closest friends popped out from the rooftop bar with my sister and it was amazing! Afterwards we went to the temple, went to celebrate with our parents and then he had a surprise dinner planned in Fort Worth, TX with all our closest friends. I will never forget such a beautiful day."

On the hair & makeup:

"Hair and makeup was done by the wonderful Alex from Ms. Painted Lady. I had given her pictures of updos and downdos I loved on Pinterest and she created exactly what I wanted. She was a hoot to work with and just a great person to be around to calm my nerves prior to the ceremony."

On the lenghas:

"I knew that I wanted custom made outfits for my Wedding and Reception. I had searched for outfits and designs I loved and I worked with the amazing Neelam Mathrani from Red Paisley's, sat down with her to show her images of what I was aspiring my outfit to look like. She was able to draw out sketches, let me choose colors that complimented each other and continued to update me on my outfit as they were being made from the color dye process to the beading all the way down to the final product. She was a pleasure to work with, so patient, kind and creative. She even helped my mom create a gorgeous royal blue blouse for the reception sari that I know I will borrow in a heart beat."
