Austin, Texas Fusion Indian Wedding by Studio Uma

Today’s wedding feature has me falling head over heels. My favorite part of my job is to be able to venture out to all parts of the world and being part of a bride’s big day. There is just something so charming about being able to relive special memories over and over again. Today’s Indian Fusion wedding celebrates Michelle and Paraag and their whimsical love story is one for the fairy tale books. The bride and groom experienced both worlds of their upbringing and no Indian wedding celebration would be complete without festive pre-ceremony celebrations. With the beats of Nachle DJ Entertainment, guests were entertained with dance performances and succulent Indian cuisine at the AT&T Hotel & Conference Center. Head into the gallery by Studio Uma for all the whimsical images and peek our favorites down below.

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
We are both physicians and met during our family medicine residency. He was my senior and I was a new intern. He says the first time we met I did not give him the time of day; that quickly changed! I knew he was the one for me when I could be my honest quirky self with him and feel complete with him by my side.
Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
He proposed to me at Vino Vino which is the restaurant he took me to for our first date. He waited until after dinner and as they brought out dessert, he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him.
How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
I was fortunate to have my husband's family help me when we visited India. I love pink and so that was definitely a consideration. We found both my wedding sari and sangeet lengha in Lucknow.
Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
Our Christian wedding vows were very special to us, as well as having his maternal aunt sing during my entrance for the Hindu ceremony. We were so blessed with our loving families support and presence.
Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
Always take time for each other. Try not to get caught up in the tiny details - no one will notice but you. Enjoy each other and don't sweat the small stuff.
Anything else you want to tell us? We'd love to hear all about your other details! (jewelry, mehndi, venue, cake, bouquets, etc.)
We had great food for each event that highlighted each of our backgrounds. The indian cuisine was fantastic. We also had Michelle make paisley cookies to serve after the Hindu ceremony which were decorated in a henna design. In addition our wedding cake and groom's cake were fabulous. Our groom's cake was modeled after the bottle of wine he proposed over and our wedding cake had an ombre of teal fading to pink with a gold henna design.

We have a sweet Indian wedding coming right up!

Hockley, Texas Fusion Indian Wedding by Morgan Lynn Photography

We have finally arrived to the last stop of Maharani Jennie and Umang’s fusion wedding celebration at the Houston Oaks - a gorgeous venue for weddings! As guests were waiting for the bride and groom, they were treated to the harmonic sounds of Divisi Strings during cocktail hour. The bride looked picture perfect with the artistry works of Butter Brush Artistry and looked like a million bucks as she strutted into the venue as Mrs. Umang! The venue featured a sea of floral that covered the spacious quarters with redefining elegance. Candles strategically scattered across the room created the most ambiance like setting with the design work of Kat Creech Events. Riz Moosa of DJ Riz Entertainment, with his undeniable skills on the turntables, churned out the latest beats filling the venue with harmonic euphony. The bride and groom were celebrated while walking through a sea full of sparklers that lit the night up with laughter and love. We are excited to showcase the cinematic action of this wedding as captured by Vellora Productions. Morgan Lynn Photography has captured a picturesque wedding with all the photos hanging out in the gallery.

Hockley, Texas Fusion Indian Wedding by Morgan Lynn Photography

Love looks not with the eyes, but with the mind, And therefore is winged Cupid painted blind.” So begins the love journey of Jennie and Umang who after being wed with a traditional Indian ceremony, began their preparations for their civil event. The bride slipped into a Galia Lahav white wedding dress from Ivory Bridal Atelier. Known for lush silk satins, crepes, chiffons, and organza based designs; this gown was simply a masterpiece. Butter Brush Artistry bequeathed the bride in a sultry glow with bold red lips and rosy cheeks. The outdoor ceremony took place surrounded by lush greenery with a grassy backdrop entryway adorned with candles for the perfect spot to take pictures in. The altar was a flora and fauna masterpiece with decorations by Kat Creech Events. I couldn’t help but think that A Midsummer Night’s Dream theme was in play here. After the wedding ceremony, it was time for guests to put their dancing heels on with DJ and entertainment from DJ Riz Entertainment! But, for now we have all the photos captured by Morgan Lynn Photography awaiting in the gallery.

Today’s wedding feature will have you speaking in Shakespearean quotes and dreaming of a fairytale outdoor wedding. When Jennie and Umang decided to take their relationship to the next step, it was inevitable that not just one wedding ceremony would do. Kat Creech Events was brought on to help Jennie plan her big day and as we relive these  magical moments captured by Morgan Lynn Photography, we can’t help but shed a tear or two on how seamless the fusion events were cohesively planned.  The bride chose a stunning red and gold wedding lengha from Kalki Fashions and you just have to take a moment to admire all the various headpieces adorning Jennie’s head secured by a heavy dupatta. The one and only Riz Moosa of DJ Riz Entertainment led Umang’s baraat ceremony into the indoors venue at the Houston Oaks. For her Indian wedding ceremony, the bride decided on a simple yet effective modern day setup. Weaving in both of these elements and deciding not to have a mandap is a sophisticated approach that we see many brides utilizing into their wedding day. Jennie and Umang’s guide to what is going on was an awesomely creative way to educated her guests that weren’t familiar with Indian wedding ceremonies. After the wedding ceremony, guests were treated to a royal Indian cuisine with Narin’s Bombay Brasserie dishing out some delectable eats. The gallery full to the brim with fusion fun is captured by Morgan Lynn Photography.

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
Umang and I met through mutual friends. We started dating after he needed a date to his work Christmas party. Since I love Christmas, I was more than happy to join him! Soon after that, we were officially together.
On one of earlier dates, we were hanging out until really late talking and getting to know each other. Before, I knew it it was 4am and I needed to head home. At the time, we lived 30 miles apart and it was about a 45 minute drive home. Umang, gentleman that he is, insisted on driving me back home in my own car and taking a cab all the way back to his own place. This was the moment when I knew he was "the one"... Also, that time he read all 7 Harry Potter books, just because I told him that I could only date people who have read them.
Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
For my Indian Wedding, I wanted a Moroccan theme with a lot of personality and fun. Noah's Event Venue was perfect for the Indian Wedding Day because it allowed for customization and offered a clean backdrop. My planner and I worked together to create a canopy topped mandap with no draped walls, to create a more open feel. We added tons of candles and Moroccan lanterns to light up the space, along with rich jewel tones. My favorite parts were the little details, like our customized Indian ceremony program. Because this was a mixed wedding, most of my family had never attended a Hindu Ceremony before so we wanted to include explanations of what we were doing during the ceremony.
I also loved the Marble Slab Bar! Umang and I bonded over our love of Marble Slab early on so we had to have an ice cream station at the Sangeet. We included signage that displayed our signature ice cream combos for extra personality.
One thing I was really particular about was my DJ. DJ Riz and his team was so professional and really listened to what I wanted. We worked together to time my entrance to "Kuch Kuch Hota Hai" when I walked down the aisle to the mandap.
What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
The cake tasting! Umang would agree with me here. The idea that you can make an appointment with a bakery and try out 5+ flavors with various icing combinations really blew his mind. And cake is so important to me because it's an iconic part of a wedding, so it has to be delicious.
Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
Our First Dance. Umang and I chose Florence + The Machine's "Stand by Me", which is from my favorite video game series. We loved the lyrics and the ethereal feel that went perfectly with our American wedding theme. The dance happened right after we were announced into the reception and despite the lights and audience, I felt like we were alone for those two minutes. We actually took lessons the month before and were only semi-comfortable with the dance. But on the day of, everything flowed so naturally. It was one of my favorite moments.
Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
On your wedding day, forget everything else and just enjoy the moment. At this point, you have done so much work and preparation, so whatever happens will happen. If anything needs to be done, that's what bridesmaids are for! There is nothing worse than seeing a stressed out, angry or frazzled bride. It's your wedding day so hold on to your happy bridal glow.

We have a whimsical fairy tale wedding coming right up! See you in a bit.

The Woodlands, Texas Indian Wedding by Anzo Foto + Film

Our hearts are exploding with joy as we peruse through a wonderful Indian wedding captured by Anza Foto + Film. With a whimsical sangeet designed by Mandap Creations, a charming outdoor Indian ceremony, we now conclude with the reception. The Woodlands Waterway Marriott was transformed into a magical wonderland. Events in Bloom has blown us away with their amazing talent in the decor department. Natasha donned a flowing, champagne anarkali and was the center of attention the whole night. A towering cake baked out to perfection by Cakes by Gina was both delectable and eye candy. Karma DJs rocked the night with the latest beats and kept guests on the dance floor. Don’t take our word for it! Head into the gallery for all the fun!
