Rockwall, Texas Indian Wedding by Vek Photo

Once the ceremony jitters were over, Malvika and Umang offered a great gala event to honor their love which Vek Photo chronicled in a series of unique images. For this occasion, Divine Décor of Dallas created a fascinating boxwood-hedge wall that featured white blossoms as the backdrop for the grand reception stage. Malvika donned the most steal-worthy neck piece outfit for her big night and was beautified with a soft natural makeup by Ms. Painted Lady. Following the dinner, an unblemished five-tier cake, creation of the celebrated baking experts of Frosted Art Bakery, was sliced by the newlyweds. This was definitely one of the highlights of the night along with the couple’s memorable first dance that opened the dance floor for the rest of the guests who danced the night away thanks to the fantastic music of DJ Riz Entertainment. Check the fabulous bundle of pics of the soiree in our full gallery.

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
I met my hubby in my hometown of Mobile, AL. He was finishing up his residency there and I was home visiting my family. We were set up by mutual family friends and had been talking for a few months already. I would say our relationship started with a base of a strong friendship with me recommending things to do to Mobile. We bonded over sports and after our first meeting, we knew we had something special in the works. He was just so sweet, with such a lively personality that it just drew me towards him. Following our first meet, we decided to start dating and within a few months, we just knew that this was it. As they say, when you find your soulmate you just know.

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
If I said "I was surprised" would be an understatement. We had already confessed our love to each other and were planning a trip to FL (where is from) to meet his brother and SIL. We had already met both our parents and facetimed with our siblings but this was going to the first meet with his brother. So needless to say, him prosing was not on my mind. We were at his folks' house (overlooking a lake) and apparently that morning his brother had asked him "What he was waiting for?" and he was waiting for the right moment. He already had a ring and that afternoon after lunch they took me out under the ruse of getting ice-cream. When we came home we got ready for a big dinner party that they had thrown in our honor. Well, Umang told me that before the party, we will be taking some pictures by the lake with the family. When I came down for the pictures, Umang drew me out by the lake where he had rose petals everywhere and whole set up ready. He got down on his knee and well, the rest is history.

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
All of his family is in FL and most of mine in AL. We decided to have the wedding in Rockwall, TX for the convenience of planning. When we were venue shopping we looked at a few places but the Hilton in Rockwall took our breath away. It was a beautiful venue and perfect for the vision we had in mind. We wanted a spring wedding as we are in love with florals and seemed like the perfect time of the year for us. Once the venue and date were decided everything just fell in place. We utilized Maharani Weddings for vendor choices and loved every single one of our vendors. They played an essential role in making our wedding weekend perfect, to say the least. My decor theme was colorful utilizing florals. We wanted everyone to have a great time and enjoy it to the max.

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
I went traditional red (also my favorite color) for my Bridal Lengha with florals with light gold embroidery all over. When I first tried it on and saw the look on my families faces, I just knew that was it. Both the bride and groom outfits were from Asopalav in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. We are both Gujarati so we wanted something that depicted our roots.

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
The whole planning process was fun and smooth. Maybe because we were doing it together, it took away any stress that may come with it. Both of us have really supportive families that were always there when we needed any guidance. Also, we had an amazing vendor team behind us, so we knew we had nothing to worry about.

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
The compliments we got were endless. From the beautiful decor/Venue, amazing food, my makeup /outfits, to the great entertainment for both Garba/reception. Even our bridal party outfits (which I designed myself) were adored by everyone. We were just happy that everyone had a great time and this will be a weekend everyone will take sweet memories from.

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
I think my first look the morning of our wedding day will always be in my mind. The view and the look on Umangs face when he first saw me was the sweetest and I won't be able to ever forget it.

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
I would say don't stress, let go, and enjoy your day to the fullest. Everything else will fall in place.

Anything else you want to tell us? We'd love to hear all about your other details! (jewelry, mehndi, venue, cake, bouquets, etc.)
I wore traditional gold jewelry that my grandmother and mom passed down to me which was the sweetest. My mehndi incorporated both Umang and my professions with a mortar & pestle for me (pharmacist) and a stethoscope & an ECG of the heart for Umang (Physician). I loved the personal touch and Samira did an outstanding job portraying it in my Mehndi.

Remember we still have a handful of more inspiring wedding stories to share.  See you tomorrow!

Rockwall, Texas Indian Wedding by Vek Photo

The wedding day had finally arrived and Malvika and Umang saw their wedding dreams come to life at the splendid Hilton Dallas/Rockwall Lakefront! To get ready, Maharani Malvika had the brilliant Ms. Painted Lady by her side to create a glamorous bridal look that consisted of a gorgeous bun hair updo and a stunning makeup look that enhanced her natural beauty. While the bride gives the final touches to her wedding look, Threejays Carriages prepared their best white horse for the dashing groom, Umang kicked off the celebrations with a big wedding procession that was cheerfully enlivened by DJ Riz Entertainment! In shades of peach, yellow and white, the Divine Décor of Dallas team designed a lovely mandap stage to perform the multiple rituals that turned these pair into husband and wife! Dallas, Texas Indian Wedding by MnM Photography

It would only be honorary to detail the amount of planning and designing that went into Maharani Ankita and Vikas's fabulous Indian wedding. From the colorful sangeet to the impeccable wedding designed for royalty by Prashe, to the series of events that required over the top planning by K.I Weddings, I am truly sad to see this wedding affair come to an end. It would only be natural that the grand finale is swanky of all. After the Indian wedding ceremony, it was everyone flocked back to the Omni Mandalay Las Colinas for cocktails and dinner. Ankita changed into a royal champagne lengha with a trailing train. No doubt in my mind this was a custom-made designer piece. The artistry work of Samira's Henna Designs was front and center as the bride made her grand entrance. The spacious ballroom featured a floral engulfed sweetheart that was just sensational. There was no shortage of entertainment here with a perfectly curated playlist by DJ Riz Entertainment. Guests scrambled for seconds with delish catering by Bombay Chopstix. The venue was lit to illuminated perfection by DJ Riz Entertainment, which paired perfectly with all the images shining in our gallery captured by MnM Photography.

Dallas, Texas Indian Wedding by MnM Photography

Welcome back to Maharani Ankita's over the top luxury Indian wedding! Once the bride said "I do", the couple immediately booked wedding design guru Jignasa Patel of K.I. Weddings to bring their wedding vision to life. I absolutely loved the mehndi design work of Samira's Henna Designs. Ankita's personal style embodied the romance, confidence, and joy in being an Indian bride! Prashe transformed the ballroom at the Omni Mandalay Las Colinas by bringing the outside in. An elegant mandap draped with ornate pink and white blossoms was a standalone piece that made a bold statement. Lighting from DJ Riz Entertainment shimmered and shined in the room and every guest had their own spotlight. Take out your notebooks gals, this is one Indian wedding you are going to want to note for the future! Your seat awaits for the images tucked away in our gallery shot by MnM Photography!
