Charlotte, NC Indian Wedding by Dream Wedding Media

It's been a week of love and laughter, Maharanis, and the fun isn't over yet! We've got a day filled with fabulous wedding films and to kick off the festivities is this jubilant feature from Dream Wedding Media. If you love bright flowers, big smiles, and Bollywood dance moves, then you will adore this event from start to finish. With a traditional ceremony under a breezy blue and white mandap followed by a blissful peacock-inspired reception, this celebration is just too much fun! I am a huge fan of our Maharani's glittering red, gold, and green lengha that has sparkle for days, and her bridal jewelry is as pretty as can be (love that glimmering gold nath!). I don't know about you, but when I see a film with this much pizzazz, I have to watch it twice! Happy viewing, darlings!

From the bride, on meeting her Raja and knowing he was "the one":

"My husband's aunt owns a boutique in Raleigh and I happened to be shopping there! She was the one who asked him to pursue me after having 'detailed conversations' with me. We started chatting, talking, meeting and before we knew it, we tied the knot!"

On their engagement:

"The proposal was a complete shock as it came much sooner than I had expected. We were on a mini vacation in Lake Tahoe and we had just returned from jet skiing—I was exhausted and looked awful. He started asking all of these serious questions about life, goals, etc., and I was having a total disinterested conversation. Just then all of a sudden (just before i was at the edge of telling him to cut it), I turned around and he was holding the ring. my most memorable moment."

On her wedding style:

"Peacocks. I am religious and have followed Lord Krishna throughout my life. When i was deciding colors. I knew there had to be some inspiration of Krishna. I decided for the peacock palette."

On the planning process:

"I enjoyed planning the food and decorations the most."

On choosing her bridal look:

"I did spend an awful amount of time on the net, however, when I went to Mumbai to shop for my lehenga, it was a whole different world of design. I knew it was the one in the first look."

On a memorable moment:

"My dad's speech at the reception. Everyone cried."

On their first dance:

"We did not have a first dance!! There wasn't enough time to practice and I couldn't convince him to dance!"

On her hair and makeup:

"I did have a style in mind. I had 3 looks on my special day and I worked with her for each of those looks. - 1 wedding, 1 reception, 1 dance party."

On friends and family helping out:

"Family and friends helped a ton the day of. The wedding would have been a disaster without their helppick ups and drop offs, managing tough guests, flowers, my getting ready, and many many other things."

On other details:

"We were working on a tight budget, but I did want to have a dream wedding at the same time. I am happy about the fact that we were able to stay within our budget (some what) by making intelligent choices. It was a crazy day and I wish I could remember smaller details, but I was just glad to see my loved ones there."

Truly fabulous! See you in just a bit!

Parsippany, NJ Indian Wedding by Lightyear Studio

Welcome to another spectacular Indian wedding film, my darlings! We're heading to New Jersey for a fabulously luxurious affair by Lightyear Studio that will have you dreaming in sparkles! From the opening moments that showcase a gleaming reception venue styled by Elegant Affairs Inc. to our bride's two glittering lenghas, there is plenty of shimmer happening here and I love every twinkling detail! (Not to mention, our Maharani's hair and makeup is a glammed-out sensation thanks to Flawless Beauty by Pauline.)  At the ceremony the mandap is a glimmering vision of icy whites and rich plums and at the after party, the sweetheart stage is aglow with crystals. Love! This is the kind of event that makes me wish I was decked out in all my bling! Maybe I should stop by Tiffany's on my way home! Enjoy the beauty, Maharanis!

From the bride:

"Serendipity is the true definition of how Chirag and I met in Philadelphia. I was celebrating a friend's birthday and he was enjoying some down time after work on a Wednesday evening when we happened to cross paths. Within a few minutes of talking to each other, we both knew that night was the start of something special. The saying is true...you find love when you least expect it!"

On her engagement:

"Chirag knew that I would want to be dolled up for our engagement, so he created an elaborate invitation for a black tie affair at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. I was ecstatic and as any girl would, I spent weeks toiling over my dress choice, accessories, and of course my shoes! The day of the proposal we got dressed to the nines and headed to the city. He suggested we take some pictures on the famous Rocky steps so we made our way over and asked a 'random' bystander to take a few shots. Little did I know she was actually a professional photographer Chirag had hired to capture the moment for us. After a few poses he dropped to one knee and asked me to be his wife. The waterworks ensued and as I turned to the side I saw my family and friends gathered there to congratulate us! He planned a whole evening of celebration for everyone and it was truly a magical night."

On her wedding style:

"Luckily, Chirag left all the decor choices up to me...smart man :) Our style in general is very modern and chic so we wanted our wedding events to reflect that as well. I searched countless websites, blogs and magazines to get ideas and inspiration. Once I had a vision, I worked closely with our decorator to develop a modern take on the traditional Indian style. The countless compliments we received about our wedding weekend verified that it was as beautiful as I had hoped it to be!"

On their first dance:

"When it came to our first dance, 'At Last' embodied how I felt about Chirag. Now some people would say not to mess with an original, but after hearing Beyonce's version of the song I knew that was it. She's one of my favorite artists and Chirag loved the lyrics of the song...so it was a win win!"

On her family helping out:

"My parents were a HUGE help when it came to wedding details and planning. They were always supportive of my choices and enabled me to create the wedding of my dreams. Chirag and I were also blessed with an amazing bridal party...they helped us detox throughout the planning phase and celebrated our wedding weekend like it was the best time of their lives!"

On vendors helping create her dream event:

"Chirag and I had a list of amazing vendors and we were so fortunate to work with these great people!"
