The bride on her wedding style:
"The inspiration for my bridal style was traditional South Indian to fit the style that is accustomed to where both my husband (who is from Kerala) and myself (from Andhra) are from. After suggesting to my family, a general color scheme, I left the rest in their thoughtful hands (which in retrospect was probably a [little] courageous on my end..).
The reception was completely tailored to fit what Sanju and I wanted from day 1 for our big day; a very personal, elegant affair with a bit of our quirky personalities to spark up the party!
For him, he added his personal touch by having his groomsmen wear all-star sneakers with their tailor made tuxedos.
For me, my love of fashion inspired the design for my party getup. My reception dresses (yes.. dresses, because a girl gets married only once!), had to be EVERYTHING. With the help of a dear friend and designer in Bombay, I was able to help design and create my dream dresses and feel like a princess for my special day :) By having two completely different color pallets for each outfit, we had more room to play around with vibrant colors for the overall decor for the event. After all, what's an Indian affair without copious amounts of color?!"
On planning her wedding:
"The best part about planning our wedding was the love and support of my family and husband. The fact that they trusted me and put their complete faith in me to plan and organize the whole event without questioning my abilities, gave me a lot of room to play around with ideas and figure out what I ultimately dreamed of for my wedding, and what I felt would represent both Sanju and I in the best way."
On her most memorable moment:
"A really special moment that stood out to Sanju and I, was when we were on the dance floor towards the end of our reception. We had this brief moment that you often times see in the movies, where everything around us stood still and it was just the two of us in the room. We gazed into each other’s eyes, then looked around the room at all the people we loved and cherished most in the world; and whispered to each other, “This is the best day of our lives”. Then immediately after, the DJ started playing, Backstreet Boys, “I want it that way”, and the whole room began singing their hearts out in a frenzy. Yep, pretty magical/epic moment for the both of us =)"
See you tomorrow, lovelies!
