Today, we're headed to Los Angeles, California for this romantic Indian wedding that takes place at the peaceful Earl Burns Miller Japanese Garden, images courtesy of Brett Butterstein Photography. Our Maharani looks pretty as a picture in her red and gold lengha choli by Sneha Lochan Couture! The talented Nadia Shalini Makeup dolls her up with beautiful bronze shadows and a glossy rose lip. Tanvee's delicate hands are covered in a gorgeous mehndi design, thanks to the henna stylings of Beauty Secrets Skin Care & Threading Studio. With the help and coordination of First Pick Planning, our lovebirds say their I do's in a quaint outdoor ceremony amidst a stunningly majestic landscape. From the bride, on how they met:
"We met at an art gallery, my Raja was courageous enough to come up to me and my five other friends! When you meet people for the first time sometimes the conversation is not as smooth - the moment I met Monish it was like meeting a long lost friends - we were laughing and the conversation was very natural. I knew he was the one when he one day randomly asked me to make an animal impression & I thought that was the goofiest thing anyone had asked me to do AND i went along with his request. Little things like that made me realize he was the one."
On the proposal:
"He proposed to me at this beautiful restaurant called Yamashiro - everything was done perfectly. He asked my Dad first for permission, he involved my close friends early in the process so he knew the type of ring I liked and he proposed to me in this beautiful empty hall that was decorated with roses and candles - the entire proposal was a surprise and is a great memory."
On the lenghas:
"I spent hours on the internet and worked with a designer (Sneha Lochan Couture) who was unbelievably patient and gave me exactly what I wanted. I truly appreciate the hard work that goes into making Indian outfits and i could see that in the lenghas that Sneha put together for me."
On the wedding style:
"We wanted our wedding to feel personal and guest to feel like they were truly involved in this big moment in our life. Thats where we got our inspiration. So to achieve that we had little touches like at our reception we had games where the guest got to know us more. Also we wanted a romantic wedding so we had our wedding at the Japanese garden which had all the elements of water, sun, koi fish, beautiful trees that just made it perfectly romantic and also fun for our guests to relax. The reception was at the Palos Verdes Golf Club in a majestic hall overlooking the ocean."
On a special moment:
"Having our families together and celebrating with all our well wishers and friends was surreal. It's really a crazy day where you are the celebrity! Our wedding was magical - it was at a Japanes Garden, the weather was AMAZING, the mandap looked phenomenal, my Raja came in on a HORSE (the elephant was on vacation ;), and we had an amazing sitar player, Ronobir Lahiri who plays a blend of india/western fusion music. He was the biggest hit at our wedding and just having him there playing on the rocks next to the pond made the event ever more magical."
The reception images are still ahead!
