From the bride, on how they met:
"We met in Undergrad our freshman year. I did not really like him and I avoided him when I could the first half of the year. He was always very sweet and so I finally gave him a chance. I think the moment I realized he was the one was after he came back from a year of studying abroad. The time apart put a lot into perspective and really made us question what we wanted and the answer was the same for both of us."
On the fashion:
"I spent a lot of time looking online and even convinced myself that I would only go with a designer that I absolutely loved. My mother asked me to keep an open mind and to try to shop from a ready made selection when we went to India and so I gave it a try! We had to go to a lot of different stores and even visit some multiple times but I was able to find all my outfit in Ahmedabad within a week. My garba lehenga is by Rimple and Harpreet Narula and my wedding lehenga was from DSBT (Darshi Shah Bhavin Trivedi). Darshi Shah was such a delight to work with and she paid special attention to my requests for the dupatta that they made as well as the alterations and adjustments I requested. She was the only designer that was not only on time but early for delivering the outfit which is practically unheard of in Gujarat! I bought the rest of my wedding trousseau from Asopalav and other stores around Ahmedabad."
On the hair & makeup:
"I had pulled pictures of styles that I loved but I had trouble coming up with a cohesive look with my jewelry and lehenga. Karuna from KC-Makeup took one look and was able to help me come up with a look that was something I was comfortable with. With my profession and my lifestyle I do not put on a lot of make-up or do my hair up often. I was uncomfortable having too much on me and KC-Makeup kept this in mind throughout the whole process. She was such a doll to work with!"
On the jewels and additional details:
Most of my jewelry was bought from Edison or my mom or grandmother's jewelry. Zahra from Zara Henna did my mehendi and she was absolutely amazing. She was a beautiful person inside and out. I recommend her to all the brides I know! The mehendi, pithi, and poojas were at home. The garba was at the Radisson Valley Forge in King of Prussia, PA. The wedding and reception were at the Princeton Westin. The cake was made at Cramer Bakery in Yardley, PA. My bouquet was also made by Elegant Affairs. We had Syed and his team from Elite Event Management as our day-of-coordinators. Zach Blum and his team from Studio Nine (Philadelphia, PA) handled all the photo and video from all the events. Our caterers at the Princeton was Mohgul. We used Alan Rentals for the wedding and reception and local ones for all the home rentals. Our garba singers and lagna geet singer was Varsha Joshi and her group from Josh Musical. Our maharaj was Dinesh Jani. We had DJ Juicy and MC Marco from DJ USA. They handled the baraat, cocktail hour and reception as well as all the lighting for the wedding and reception."
The ceremony and reception shots are next!
