Planners extraordinaire Kismet Events Inc take us to Richmond Hill, New York for Chandra and Taresh's amazing Indian wedding celebration! AH Portrait Photography gives us a first look at the gorgeous couple during an outdoor photo shoot. Our Maharani is statuesque in a strapless, white mermaid wedding gown. Her hair is flowing in long, loose curls, and soft, snow-white eye shadows make her dark brown eyes pop! And I adore a monochromatic look with a colorful accessory, namely Chandra's vibrant bouquet courtesy of Stylish Events! The mesmerizing mix of purple, lavender and magenta flowers look stunning with her all-white attire! Gazing deep into her eyes is our handsome groom looking oh-so-dapper in a white tuxedo with black lapel. The supporting cast of beautiful bridesmaids and gallant groomsmen are holding their own in all black ensembles. Now, this is what I call a fierce and fabulous wedding party! We've got more on the way, but in the meantime, make sure to see the couple's Indian nuptials in the gallery!
From the bride, on how they met:
"I met Taresh, ironically enough, at my cousin's wedding! Being Indo-Guyanese, we typically have our Hindu wedding ceremonies and American receptions on two different days. Apparently he had noticed me during the wedding ceremony, but couldn't quite find the perfect time to approach me. It wasn't until the next night at the reception that he introduced himself. We talked, danced and laughed the entire night! Looking back, I think we hit it off so quickly because we both love to be silly and joke around. I was living in upstate New York at the time and he was in Brooklyn. At the end of the reception, he asked to borrow my phone to call a cab, but instead called his phone so that he could get my number! I was shocked at first, but couldn't help smiling as he winked and said "Now I have a reason to travel upstate." I can't say that I knew at any particular moment that he was "the one", but it is his humor, charm and ability to always make me laugh that made me fall in love."
On the proposal:
"Throughout the fours years that we were in a long-distance relationship, we strived to make the most out of every time we saw each other. One of our favorite things to do is weekend getaways spent in Manhattan. Valentine's Day of our third year together, was one of those memorable weekends. I had driven down after work and expected dinner and maybe a Broadway show. Little did I know that I would be greeted by Taresh with champagne, flowers and a private chauffeur for the night! After a romantic Italian dinner Midtown, Taresh casually asked if I had ever been to the Empire State Building. I replied that I hadn't and he said "We should go, it's still early". At this point, I still didn't have any inclination of what his true plans were and just thought he was trying to make this Valentine's day extra special. We did the entire tour of the building and I was completely in awe and disbelief when at the end, he got down on one knee on the observation deck and popped the question! After saying yes, we were applauded loudly and congratulated by the large crowd of sightseers that had gathered to watch and listen to his proposal. We were both slightly embarrassed, but still beamed with happiness and excitement!"
The reception celebration is up next!
