Our Indian bride, Shital, is carried down the aisle in style in a luminous gold doli as her groom awaits her arrival. We can sense the love between the couple during some endearing moments in their ceremony! This lovely pair is ready to celebrate their union as they are decked out in their reception attire. Shital is radiant in a teal and blue reception lengha with gold beading while Heath wears a black tuxedo and a matching teal collared shirt. Our glamorous bride, chose a 1920s make-up look with a dramatic eyeshadow and a hint of teal paired with a purple mauve lip which she wears impeccably well. Our husband and wife duo, sat at a sweetheart table draped in gold and off white matching their sweetheart stage. The bride on planning her big day:
" I enjoyed all the sweet surprises that my Kavita and my Mom thought of. I loved how sweet and intimate all of it was. I also kind of loved that I wasn't stressed all the time. Although, my husband disagrees. I really loved how all of the planing brought the family together. It was great seeing Heath's family wear the clothes and participate in the traditions."
On her bridal fashion:
"For Henna night. I told my Kavita that I was a short long skirt. Meaning mid shin. This way my Henna would not get messy and I could still walk around. Sonu from S & S did my make up and hair for all three events and it was perfect. Wow I looked super fun and glamorous.
My wedding outfit was white and blingy. I always thought I would wear red, because I wanted to be traditional, but I saw a white lengha and fell in love with it!! I saw it on Pinterest. Then I sent a picture to my sister- in-law, Kavita who was in India with my brother helping shop for the wedding. We had the dress made a little different and it fit like a glove when I finally got it. I wanted to be a 1920's regal bride.
For the reception I saw a really hot Bollywood here I am look. I knew it was the one!! I couldn't find it anywhere, until my cousin, best friend, Maritain of Honor, Arati found what store it was in. I found the actual site that I could place in order at and ordered it. It came in from the UK and fit like a glove as well. I could not believe it. I am only 100-105 lbs, it is really hard to get it perfect. Everything really worked in my favor."
On special moments:
"The speeches that my brothers Sachit and Safal gave were so special. Along with all of the other speeches, but what my older brother, Sachit said about having a last dance with me before my husband has his first dance with me. It was to the song that he requested at the first party he took me to. He danced with me to it because he just embarrassed me. I was only 17 at the time and the song was Everything I Do, I Do it For You, by Bryan Adams. It was so sweet. Heath's family had speeches that were also very touching because they found our love before we knew we had it. It was beautiful to hear all of the special things they said. There was humor and love in every speech.
I loved when I preformed a surprise dance for Heath to the song, Dear Future Husband by Meghan Trainer. The look on his face. It was fun and he played along so well.
I loved that my grandma was at the wedding. She was well and aware. She had strokes in the past and also had blood cancer. The strokes gave her a stutter and made it difficult for her to speak. She stopped speaking for almost three months before the wedding. At the wedding she spoke and recognized my husband. I got hugs and kisses. She passed away recently at the age of 94. It was very special to me that she was there. She was my sister, mother, friend, and granny. Depending on what I needed. A sweet and pure soul.
The whole family being together and letting loose for three days was amazing!! Just how I imagined it would be.
The photo shoot on main street was really special also."
On her make-up:
"Sonu from S&S bridal. I knew I wanted a braid for the wedding for sure with the part in the middle. I wanted a 1920's look for my reception, even though I have so much hair she made it work. For Henna night I just wanted fun. I let her have it and it was so fun and pretty. Most of all my makeup was perfect!!!!"
On special details:
"I mentioned them in the question about wedding decorations and cake and outfits. They helped the whole way!! My cousin Shimmy held the bachelorette party at her home in Chicago."
On the vendors:
" I was working with another cake shop when they told me that they would no longer be able to work with me because they had a tragedy in their family. Then I found Sarah's cake shop who also has the option of having mini cupcakes. I worked with Miss Michael Grotpeter at Sarah's Cake Shop. They were so accommodating. Although they told me that they would not be able to deliver. Kavita somehow changed their mind. So, not only did they deliver the cake, they took a late order and really saved the night. I had a cake that we cut and it was simple, white textured design, but we had three mini cupcakes served to each of the guests. The flavors were Strawberry Cheesecake, red velvet, and tres leches. They were cute and beautiful, the guests loved them."
Thanks for taking in this glorious wedding with me, until next time my loves!
