Before tying the knot, the couple of the hour, Shereen and Saad, celebrated with a double dose of pre-wedding festivities that included a traditional mayoon ceremony and a sensational mehndi celebration! For the first event, Sonal J. Shah and her team of talented wedding specialists transformed a tennis court at the Pakistani bride's home into a tented pre-wedding venue that transported guests to a classic Karachi state of mind! Elegant Affairs worked their decor magic on the mehndi night stage with vibrant details in magenta and a mixture of textural elements that elevated this already-luxurious soirée to an entirely new level. The magnificent mood lighting by DJ Manan, who also took charge of the parties' playlists, set the tone like no other element could, and Shereen's incredible bridal fashions rocked both events in true Maharani style! Through it all, she looked flawless as can be, and that's all thanks to her hair and makeup artist from BridalGal, who will be wowing us with her ceremony look, next! Maharani Shereen, on how she met the Raja of her dreams, Saad:
"I met Saad years ago in passing and we exchanged a few pleasantries, sat at the same table, and parted ways. We were connected on Facebook and years later he reached out to me again because he was moving to the East Coast. We met up and from there, it didn't take long for me to realize that he was the perfect partner for me."
On her Raja's extraordinary marriage proposal:
"Saad went above and beyond with our proposal. He was working in Boston at the time and I was living in New York City. I was planning to go to a play with a friend one evening when at the last minute my fried ushered me into a black car and waved goodbye as I drove away with a driver I didn't know and a package she had handed me. I opened the package and in it were videos and notes from Saad. These notes, along with the driver, led me through a "treasure hunt" in New York City to some of the locations where Saad and I shared important memories as a couple. At the end, the car dropped me off in Central Park where Saad was waiting to propose. I was speechless!"
On her pre-wedding style:
"I wanted the Mehndi to be colorful, vibrant, and relaxed...think pillows everywhere, dancing, hanging out."
On her hair and makeup:
"I'm not big into hair and makeup so we tried to keep it natural but bright. Lily, of BridalGal, did a great job!"
On the role that family and friends played in making her wedding extra memorable:
"Our friends and family put endless effort into the Mehndi night dance performance. My friends and family did an incredible 20 minute medley that was both a dance performance and a skit. I was floored by their effort and skill!"
Stay tuned for Shereen and Saad's sensational nikkah details, coming up next!
