Maharani Preya, on her most memorable wedding moments:
"Every moment of that weekend was magical. There was this positive energy flowing in the air that was almost tangible. One of my favorite moments was when my Mama (maternal uncle) was able to make it the wedding last minute from India. His flight landed at 10AM the day of the ceremony and when he walked into my hotel suite, I knew that God was gifting me an unforgettable moment. My two Mamas walking me down the aisle was incredible. I also can’t forget when my videographer sat me down before the ceremony to interview me for our same day edit/wedding videos. He asked “what do you want to say to Adi today?” In that moment, I remember thinking what a privilege it is to be able to marry this man, that this person chose me, and that I have never looked forward to something so much. I would marry him a thousand times over.
Another special moment was when my sister pointed out the sheer number of guests attending. That is when I realized that everyone I have ever loved in my whole life was there to witness this occasion. From childhood friends to coworkers to college roommates to fourth cousins, everyone was there for us. This was perhaps the most overwhelming feeling that I have felt in my life. My heart was overflowing with gratitude and I know Adi felt the same way. When it came time for our reception speeches, I had a hard time finding the words as a “thank you” would never be enough. Most importantly, Adi and I took the time to hug both parents as they mean the world to us."
On her and Raja Aditya's special song:
"My cousin (who has the voice of an angel) sang live to my favorite Hindi song “Teri Orr.” Guests told me later that they thought the DJ had played the song because she sang that well. Two minutes in, we transitioned to a fun song for a siblings dance! My sister and her husband as well as Adi’s brother joined us on stage and we did a short choreographed dance. Funny story, I had laid out the formation where Adi and I were supposed to be in the middle (with my sister/and her husband) on the sides. Well my Jijaji is super absent minded so when he gets on stage he totally takes Adi’s spot. It was only funny because he’s smack dab in the middle (where the groom should be) for the entire thing. We still laugh about it!"
On the role her family and friends played:
"My bridal party was made up of total rock stars that planned dances, speeches, etc. My sister/cousins took care of coordinating all family events and of course my mom was our star quarterback in this whole thing. There isn’t a decision I made without this incredible woman! And to credit my dad, he was calm and endearing during the whole process. Kudos to my parents!"
See you tomorrow for more Maharani magic, my dears!
