The Lincolnshire Marriott Resort recently hosted a multi-day celebration for Indian bride and groom, Parul and Samit, and we're getting an exclusive look at all of those events today, thanks to photographer John Straus, of Modern Image Studios! Abricoe Designs planned the happy couple's shaadi, and there's no better place to dive in than at the sensational sangeet end! We just love the decor work by Yanni Design Studio and the blushing bride's vibrant, custom-made lengha! Nothing says Desi Princess quite like paisley! Beauty maven, Laura Black, did a magnificent job with Maharani Parul's makeup, and we're loving her fresh faced bridal style! I'll be right back with some incredible wedding details you won't want to miss, but while you're waiting, you can feast on even more sangeet highlights from this Indian wedding celebration in Illinois by visiting the complete gallery!
Maharani Parul, on meeting the Raja of her dreams, Samit:
"We met at a party on July 25, 2014, among friends and in a very casual way. We struck up a conversation, and exchanged numbers, and Samit texted me that same night. Samit and I then met for a 1st date the following week, and during that first date, we both knew there was something special and different about each other. Samit was living in India as an expat, so our first few dates were in Chicago, and then he left to go back to work. After he was gone, we talked on the phone every day for hours (pending the time change) and decided on a wild idea to meet half way in Italy for our 6th date. This trip to the Amalfi Coast was truly magical, where we had undivided time together for a week, and got to know each other. We both knew we wanted to continue this journey, and continued meeting in various cities from Chicago, to Bangalore and finally planned to take the next step after our families all met in December. People always say, when you find the one you will just know. I have never known so clearly and perfectly that something was meant to be than in my one year meeting to marriage with Samit. Knowing I have a partner in love and life, for the future...for forever...is truly amazing."
On her Raja's proposal:
"Samit proposed while on a mini-break trip to Goa. Samit had set up a special chef's dinner in a beautiful gazebo on the water, complete with hundreds of roses and a special vegan meal for me. Samit was totally choked up, which he never is, and it was really lovely. It was the most beautiful time, followed by a blissful weekend of exploring Goa and hanging out at our resort. I felt so very special and was so happy to seal in our futures."
On her pre-wedding style:
"Our sangeet was a burst of colors with a Rajasthani Mela theme. We transported all the decor items straight from Jaipur, from umbrellas to elephants, puppets and more. We had food stalls with custom signs made by our nieces and Samit's father. We also added potlis of bangles and bindis for our guests, which matched the theme."
On her sangeet lengha:
"For the Sangeet and Reception, I enlisted a designer in India, and the process was overseen by my sister in law in Bangalore. I designed it based on a paneled look I imagined, with a Rajasthani design and custom embroidery. The colors were right on, and the final look was bright and lovely."
See you in a bit for more delightful details from Parul and Samit's shaadi!
