Hello Maharanis! We've got Swati and Pete's classy South Indian fusion wedding for you all today! Melissa Marie Events packed this day-long celebration to the brim with excitement, starting with an unconventional baraat in the morning. As bagpipes played in the background, the groom traveled via doli! Once inside, we saw the beautiful floral decorations by Top That! Event that brought the wedding's vintage botanical theme to life. We especially loved how the floral print curtains and dark wood accents added a retro touch. In contrast, with the muted colors of the ceremony space, our blushing South Indian bride wore a dazzling red and gold sari! To catch all the details from this elegant shaadi, check out the full gallery!

From Majarani Swati on how she met her Raja:
"I met my husband in medical school on the island of Grenada. After we dated for about three years, I knew he would be the one I would eventually marry because we shared the same view on relationships and what our future would look like."
On the couple's super romantic proposal story:
"We traveled to Israel for a friend's wedding and I had a feeling Pete would propose because I knew the setting of another country was the ideal proposal in his mind (we both love traveling). We were walking on the beach on a beautiful afternoon and he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. What meant more to me than the actual proposal were his vows. They truly captured our whole relationship."
On figuring out their dream wedding theme:
"We started with the idea of a destination wedding but realized in the end it would be a lot of work given our ever growing guest list. A venue that we really liked was a greenhouse but it unfortunately could not accommodate our guests so instead we used it as our inspiration. Our theme was 'vintage botanical' which we applied both to our traditional Hindu ceremony and our non-traditional non-denominational ceremony."

We'll be back with another ceremony and the reception, so stay tuned!
