Hello, Maharanis! Today we've got PJ and Arit's Indian fusion wedding for you, with celebrations held in three cities across California! The Sikh ceremony was held at the Gurdwara Sahib Fremont, and for the occasion our Indian bride PJ wore an ultra-vibrant hot pink lengha with glorious gold details! We also love how the wedding party incorporated pops of pink into their attire, whether on the Sikh groom's sherwani or the bridesmaids' anarkalis. Artistry by Wagma gave the bride stunning makeup to match her outfit, and Hair By Anaa K styled her hair in a sleek updo, making our Maharani look radiant as she smiled at her Raja in the adorable portraits by VA Photography. Our Maharani on her fated meeting with her Raja and how she knew he was "the one":
"I met Arit when I crashed his birthday party years ago. We have a lot of mutual friends and almost everyone I spoke with that day said that they're going to this guys birthday. I had no idea who he was. I decided to stop by to say hi to my friends before heading to where I was going. I met him for the first time that night. It was a brief introduction. The following night I ran into him again at another friends birthday party and talked for a while there. After this he added me on Facebook. We both love sports. Years went by and we talked trash to each other about our teams. I don't think either of us thought anything more about each other than just how much we disliked each others teams. Since we were both working in downtown SF at the time, we decided to meet up to watch a Warriors and Bulls game. Before we knew it we were the last ones left in the bar and the staff was cleaning up. The bar had actually closed a while ago. They told us we didn't have to leave. We both didn't realize how much time had gone by. I knew he was the one after our first phone call. It was during the halftime of NCAA championship. We were both watching it and he decided to call me instead of continuing to text each other. The call was about 30 mins and we only talked about basketball. At the end of the phone call I knew."
On the scenic proposal:
"He proposed on top of the Golden Gate Bridge tour. He was acting weird all day and I could tell he was nervous about something. We had planned a tour to go on top of the Golden Gate Bridge tower. I was really excited about the tour. That was where the 98 degrees 'Because Of You' video was shot, so I was even more excited. When we got up, we were both so excited to see the whole city and Marin. The views were amazing. We were about to pose together for a picture when he got down on one knee. It was perfect."
Come back to see the Hindu ceremony and reception!
