Hello, Maharanis! Today the amazing planners at Nobility Events are bringing us a fabulous South Asian wedding, held at the Deerfield Country Club! Our Maharani Kajal started the day by getting her hair and makeup done by Flawless Beauty by Pauline, who gave our Indian bride perfectly shaped brows and bold lips for a fabulous wedding look. Afterwards, Hugo Juarez Photography snapped some charming first look portraits of the adorable couple and it was time for the baraat! With DJ RAJ Entertainment & Event Lighting there to bring the excitement to the next level, the baraat was a blast! To see more from the baraat and ceremony, head to the full gallery!
Maharani Kajal on meeting her Raja:
"I met Akshar in medical school. Although we knew each other from day one, we didn't become close for a few years. After that, it didn't take long for me to realize he was 'the one.' He had so many great qualities -- made me laugh, cared about family, smart, made me feel loved."
On the romantic proposal:
"Akshar went to Rutgers and I went to University of Delaware for undergrad. He always wanted to show me his college campus and so he planned to take me up there. We went, hung out, ate and then instead of going back home, he continued to drive up north and I soon realized we were going on a hot air balloon ride -- he is not a big fan of things like that but he knew that I would like it. As the hot air balloon went up, on the ground there was a banner that read 'will you marry me?' I of course said yes!"
On her wedding style:
"I didn't really have any theme or color palette in mind -- I did know that I wanted bright colors and purple (my favorite color) had to be one of them; orange and hot pink seemed like they would be good matches with the purple color. When picking out my bridesmaids' dresses, I didn't want them to be the same color as any of the backgrounds so I chose yellow which I thought went well with everything else."
We'll be back with the reception soon!
