Maharani Kayla, on what she enjoyed most about planning her Desi dream wedding:

"Indian weddings, as lovely as they can be, tend to be very lavish and come with a steep price tag. Due to having a multi-event wedding with a guest list over 500, the budget was tight and I took it upon myself to plan my own wedding, with the help of some family friends. It is something I definitely do not recommend as a planner/coordinator would help tremendously with a wedding of that size. I'll be honest and say that it was extremely stressful. When planning your own wedding not only are you choosing the details of your wedding but you're also securing the venue, negotiating with vendors, trying to help coordinate, etc. I believe my favorite part of the whole process was the cake tasting. My cake and dessert display was crafted by the amazing Kristen Mills of KM Cake Design. The cake was the easiest and least stressful as I already knew what kind of cake I wanted. All I had to do was show her my vision, choose the flavors and on the wedding day there it was just as I pictured it. Her cake was rich and moist and the vanilla/cookies and cream mousse icing was amazing, unlike buttercream it was light and just slightly sweet! So good!!"

Additional thoughts from the bride:

"I cannot even begin to express my gratitude for our family and friends that worked so hard to make our wedding memorable. Without them and their lending hands, it just would not have been possible to have the wedding that we did nor would it have been enjoyable. We had folks to helped us secure the venue and with catering as well as coordination. Sameer and I are truly lucky have have such amazing friends and family that helped us make our big day memorable!!"

Have a lovely weekend, my wedding-lovin' friends!
