No two weddings are alike, and from the looks of Heather & Devan’s wedding bash, no two ceremonies are alike either! With Studio Prizm’s photography and cinematography to ensure no moment will ever be forgotten, Utsav Planners decorated and orchestrated the fusion wedding perfectly. With the sound of Dandia sticks in the air, and vibrant umbrellas suspended from above, the Gujarati festivities commenced with Ras Garba. The atypical venue, Royal Oak Farmers Market, had sentimental value because that’s where the Heather & Devan met for the first time and by chance! Traditional turmeric yellow, red, and saffron dominated the color scheme. Heather looked exotic in a red and yellow lehenga, which matched Devan’s raw silk kurta set. The performance by University of Michigan’s Taal dance troupe made for a Bollywood spectacle, TapSnap set up a Photo Booth that had traditional props like grooms turbans and varmalas. The Detroit Princess Riverboat made for a fabulous Sangeet venue, allowing the couple and all their guests to soak in skyline and oceanic views. The DJs from Naveen Productions and a Michael Jackson impressionist turned it into an energetic dance party! It was adorable how the duo rode in colorful rickshaws to enter their raas-garba and the ceremony, held at the Suburban Showplace, where Saffron provided a fine range of Indian delicacies. The purple-themed traditional ceremony opened on an energetic note of Baraat beats thanks to Naveen Productions. The aisle runner was adorned with white peonies leading to the mandap, lit up in lavender lights, featuring royal pristine white chairs. Heather in her silk purple sari and Devan, in a kurta and dhoti, looked resplendent! Head over to their gallery with us, because we feel like looking at over and over again!
We'll be back in a bit with all the details from Heather & Devan's Christian ceremony and reception!
