There is something special and intimate about weddings that are self-planned. Divya and Jinesh’s wedding celebrations had us hooked from the get-go, which was the surprise proposal at Japanese Gardens. The Westin Houston, Memorial City was the chosen venue for all three events. When Divya told us that she opted for a champagne and peach color palette, we knew this would be no ordinary wedding, and turns out we were right! Put together by Decor One, the Sangeet looked like a tangerine blue fest, with an interplay of mint, pastel yellow, blue, and orange drapes that featured champagne gold embroidery work, on the stage. Gussied up in blush pink tones and a side bun by Anita Barua from Blush and Glow, Divya twirled pretty in her signature Anushree Reddy floral lehenga and gold Jimmy Choos. We hardly get a chance to say this about a groom's outfit, but Jinesh won us over with his spiffy silk bandhgala, in an atypical color combination of jade and red. While DJ Yogi Goyal from Karma DJs turned up the party quotient, Udipi Cafe had the guests covered with their delectable subcontinental vegetarian cuisine. Divya’s South Indian heritage and Jinesh’s Gujarati roots resulted in a ceremony that was a perfect cultural harmony. See for yourself by visiting their gallery, which was evidently a work of artistry by Tomas Ramos Photography and Film.
Stay tuned for the next post, where we will spare no detail on Divya and Jinesh’s gorgeous ceremony and reception!
