Hello Maharanis! We hope that you are getting loads and loads of inspiration for your big day! Today we highlight the fusion wedding of Nisha and Corey and their wonderful wedding at the Wedgewood Golf Course. Their love tale began when the couple met at work and before she knew it, this Maharani had butterflies in her stomach at the mere thought of her Maharaja. Once Corey popped the question (read all the details from the bride below!), it was time to contemplate the dream team. Naturally, only a stellar team would do and Nisha decided that Joie De Vivre Events would the planning and design team to create her fairy tale wedding. The morning of her wedding ceremony, Formality Onsite Hair & Makeup by Tiffany was ushered into the venue to handle glam control. Nisha knew she wanted to incorporate gold into her bridal gear and a hint of a soft pink dupatta was the perfect contrast to her outfit from Seasons. The bride and groom opted to soak in the gorgeous day with an Indian ceremony held outdoors. Events 2NV designed a seussian mandap in shades of whites and pinks that sat in the gorgeous gardens of the venue. Greybird Galleries has captured all the whimsical moments that you can find in our gallery.
How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
Corey and I met at work. He was shadowing me one day so he could help with a training class. We got along really well and were close friends for a while before we dated.
Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
I received a text from him one night when he was supposed to be working. He told me he had the rest of the evening off and that I should come over. I was at home and my mom had mentioned that she wanted me to go to the mall with her first. I later realized she was trying to get me to wear something nicer than the jeans and t-shirt I had on for the proposal she knew was happening later!
I left the mall without new clothes. I was headed to see Corey and my parents were headed back home. Before I left, my mom had given me a big hug. I thought it was odd at the time because I was going to come back home after seeing Corey!
I pulled up to his place and reached for my key to open his door. As soon as I started trying to open the door, I heard him moving around a lot, then from the other side of the door- "Wait!" I said I would but instantly got frustrated that I was just standing outside his door for no reason! When he opened the door there were lit white candles everywhere! Rose petals covered the floor. In tea light candles on the floor was written "Marry me?" As soon as I read the message, he was on one knee asking me to marry him! I was completely floored! And to top it off he even got me my dream ring I mentioned months ago! Everything was perfect!
Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
The planning process was strenuous! I am a total laid back personality, so it was tough for me to get started! I started by sending inquiries about pricing and my budget to vendors. If I liked their work and the info I was given, we met face to face. The great thing about all of the vendors is that we all seemed to get along very well. Everyone was on the same page. It made everything much easier on me!
Once I got all the contracts in order, I had my Planner/Coordinator set to start at the last 2 months with getting everything organized. It was nice to be able to pass off that responsibility & just enjoy myself during our wedding festivities!
How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
I knew I wanted gold! And because I have an unhealthy obsession with coral pink, I knew I wanted that tied in somehow. I went through a lengthy process to find my wedding outfit. I bought a beautiful Sabyasachi saree originally. It was fully gold in the photos, but when I received it, I realized it wasn't formal enough for a bride. My mother ended up wearing that saree for our reception. And my aunt from India helped me get my bridal outfit from Mumbai.
For the reception outfit, I was able to reach out to Shyamal & Bhumika. The process was super easy, and I ended up with an elegant custom lengha!
Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
Probably when Corey and his mom broke out into a choreographed dance after the bride/father and groom/mother dance we planned. I had no idea he was doing this! I stood there in complete shock during the whole dance! It was amazing!
Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
Enjoy your wedding festivities! Either designate someone else to handle the tough stuff during your festivities, or get a coordinator! Enjoy every moment- it will fly by!
We have the reception party coming right up! See you in a flash.
