Manassas, Virginia Indian Wedding by Azeem Baig Photography

It's time to put on your dancing shoes and get the party started! Sharmeen and Nafiz’s Valima at the exceptional Lombardos’ was an event to remember for a lifetime. And it will surely be remembered thanks to Sunghye Jung Videography who shot a breathtaking film of the wedding sequence that will make you feel like one of the guests! We had the pleasure of featuring this video and you can watch it here! The new husband and wife made their grand entrance in the reception hall reflecting their best personal style. Groom Nafiz in a black tux and Sharmeen in a decadent black embroidered anarkali suit that seriously blew my mind! Alankar Décor executed to perfection an elaborated white theme décor, the wedding loveseats were worthy of royalty and the blush pink roses with white florals on top of the luxurious stage provided a heavenly experience to the whole scene! What is a wedding without crazy amounts of food? The smart couple trusted their celebration menu to Sagar’s catering who delivered an outstanding service with a variety of great traditional dishes that delighted every palate! I am positive it will keep the guests talking about it for a long time! Go ahead to the gallery and take a glimpse into more remarkable images by Azeem Baig Photography

Have an awesome weekend, Beauties!

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
We met through a mutual friend, who kept saying that we would be a good match for one another.  It took us a couple of tries to connect, but when it happened, it happened quickly! We like to say a lot of things fell in place - everything came to us at the right time. We had lived in the same city for two years and had never met. The mutual friend and I also met in a very unique set of circumstances - I had come to Boston for a social enterprise competition and met her there through my teammate.
In terms of being the "one," there was no single moment, but from the beginning, he would do what he say he would do. His verbal integrity was key for us. So important, ladies!

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
For me, it was really about organization. I had many friends who had gotten married and I asked them questions about who they had used and what they wish they had done differently. I went to a Shaadi Showcase with my mom and that was very helpful in checking out vendors. Some friends were super helpful in giving me planning worksheets. Excel is your friend!

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
The most enjoyable part was planning out the decorations and envisioning how they would look. Also liked picking out songs. Also liked working with my friends and the excitement of the surprise of what they were going to put together.

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
The food! We had three different types of food at each event.

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
Organization is key. Try to be early on booking vendors, etc.

Manassas, Virginia Indian Wedding by Azeem Baig Photography

I can’t wait to share the beautiful nuptials of Sharmeen and Nafiz, today’s couple decided to join their lives in a series of beautiful celebrations, following their Islamic faith.  As part of the pre-wedding rituals a big Mehndi celebration was hosted by the bride and groom to be at the Hilton Washington Dulles, all guests took out the best pieces of their wardrobe and the bridal party really made a fashion statement with the cutest light mint sarees I have seen. For this momentous occasion, the bride wore a fantastic red and yellow flower jewelry set that that made a superb match with her silk saree colors. Our couple had the time of their lives playing awesome games and of course, lots of music and dance! I’m so in love with the lavish Nikkah ceremony this pair had as part of the union and we are so glad Azeem Baig Photography captured the best ceremony moments and details of the sumptuous solemnity. As the center of attention, Sharmeen looked radiant in her bridal trousseau and Bridal Elegance by Suman Khosla did a wonderful job with the bride’s makeup highlighting her natural grace. Sigh! The swoon worthy decoration was the responsibility of Yaadein Events, who came up with a stunning stage where our happy newlyweds sit as husband and wife for the first time. A grandeur style wedding cake was specially requested to Raksha's Custom Cakes who made a dream cake reality for the lovebirds that will linger in all guests’ minds!
