After 4 years of planning, finally the big day arrived for Kishmala and Irfan. I must say this gorgeous bride did enjoy her wedding preparation process! They started their wedding celebrations with a bright and colorful mehndi night. The fantastic Antuns by Minar was the gathering point for this special occasion where music and traditions blended for a night to remember. Our bride and groom's outfits worked perfectly well together. The bright pink lehenga of Maharani Kishmala gave her a touch of grace that combined with her unique choice of jewelry added more beauty to the whole bridal look! The explosion of colors theme was imprinted in the backdrop stage, adding a spirited ambiance to the entire décor. The bridesmaids and groomsmen also joined Kishmala and Irfan with spectacular vivid outfits! The music and fun made the night memorable, but words are not enough to describe all the elegance and magic of the day, that’s why we are so grateful with Alifsa Studio who created a magnificent photo album of this love story. More and more to come of this heavenly wedding! Don’t go anywhere.
Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
My mom and I have been planning my wedding for about 4 years now. Gathering all of the decorations and things we might need during the wedding. As the last 6 months apprached, that’s when we went into full on preparation mode. We made all of the baskets, mehendi plates, all the little decoration details but hand with the stuff we had been collecting over the years. The venue was Terrace on the Park in Queens, NY. Hair and makeup was done in the bridal suite by c. The decor was done by Stylish Events in Hicksville.
How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
I really wanted to get a nice mix in my bridal dress of American and desi. That is why I went with red and white. I didn’t have a certain shade of red in mind but as soon as I put that dress on, I loved the color and the mirrors all over the whole dress. It was unlike any other I had seen.
What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
The most enjoyable part I would say was the last few days approaching the wedding. Their were so many people in my house all the time. Someone was decorating the house, and others hanging my jehez clothes up. My sister and I were making decorative boxes to display my sandals and clutches. It was all such a memorable experience.
What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
I think just the overall feel of it. I had so many events leading up to my wedding. I had 3 dholkis, 2 bridal showers, mehendi, shaadi and last was valima. My wedding felt like it lasted a long time which I think people really enjoyed.
Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
The moment that replays in my mind is my entrance. When I was carried into the hall in an open doli, with the song “kaun Tujhe” playing in the background. It felt magical.
For events other than your ceremony, please tell us as much as you would like about the decor, style, dances, and all the special details.
All the events before my wedding like the dholkis and bridal showers, those were all planned and decorated by my mom and I. For the main dholki I had at my house, I had my friends practice a dance routine with me months in advance.
Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
I feel like as a bride, you take too much pressure and tension on everything being perfect. You get so caught up in the fact that everything goes as you planned that you forget to enjoy your own wedding. The day of my wedding passed so quickly. When it was time for ruksati I was so confused thinking “wait, it’s over?” The whole wedding passed in just getting a photoshoot while everyone else had dinner. My advice would be to just take a chill pill and savor every moment of your wedding day because it won’t come again. So just enjoy it!
