After the gorgeous ceremony happened, and Raevathi & Akhil united their lives for eternity, it was time to celebrate with all the Raja and Maharani style and flair. The Bethesda North Marriott Hotel & Conference Center was their venue of choice and to jazz things up, the ravishing beats of AmpliFIRE Entertainment, of course! The guests were about to have the time of their lives with this bash! We know that hospitality with their loved ones is a strong Indian characteristic, and these two lovebirds did not disappoint! So amazing! To top it all, the sweet pastry wonders of The Classic Bakery & Cafe gave that extra rush of sugar impulse to keep on lighting up the dancefloor! Seriously, ladies, you can't miss this beautiful gala! More details on today's gallery thanks to Photographick Studios!

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
Akhil and I met in our first class on our first day of school freshman year at college (UMD College Park). We ended up becoming good friends and started dating towards the end of that year, and got married almost 10 years since we met! I can't say there was an exact moment, but I'm glad we both eventually felt that each other was "the one"!

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
Akhil planned a trip to the National Arboretum, one of my favorite places around DC, and proposed in a beautiful spot by a gazebo overlooking a pond. After he proposed, we went out for dinner in DC to celebrate, and Akhil surprised me by inviting all our friends and family to celebrate - it was perfect!

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
I really wanted a traditional wedding and it was important to me to incorporate both Tamil (my family) and Telugu (Akhil's family) traditions.  Most of the planning was around the ceremony and making sure the long ceremony went smoothly.  For the morning - decor, outfits, hair and makeup - I wanted to keep things pretty traditional, and for the reception, I wanted to keep it clean and simple.

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
I love neutral colors and was looking for champagnes and golds, and ended up finding the perfect gown (after several trips around Mumbai and Bangalore with my family in India).

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
Planning some of the small details - I was really excited for my mehndi and requested my artist (@naseemhenna) to draw Bharatanatyam dancers (since I've been learning since I was 8) and it turned out so great.  I had also given a lot of thought to my outfits and hair/makeup so it was fun scrolling through Pinterest for ideas, and I think everything came out great in the end!

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
I think guests liked all the traditions we had in the wedding from the baraat to the swing ceremony to the different games we played on the mandap. Of course, all the food was also great, and the playlist at the sangeet and reception were amazing!

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
Akhil completely surprised me by getting up and joining my cousins dance for the last song - I had planned out almost every detail of the whole wedding so I was so shocked that he kept that secret.  Plus he did such a good job!

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
Even if the planning process feels like a lot, the end result will be amazing and so much fun!

Amazing wasn't it? More every day, stick with us!
