Welcome back, darlings! We are so excited to continue sharing this love story with you. This time around, we will take you to the exclusive Hilton Baltimore BWI Airport to join Yogina & Keyur at their elegant reception party. The beautiful decoration crafted by Partyland Sajawat from New Jersey created a romantic and luxurious atmosphere only overtaken by the looks of our lovely couple. Yogina looked ravishing dressed on her champagne lengha that we loved so much, while Keyur rocked a sleek black suit that made him look handsome and elegant. To turn this gala into a party, our lovebirds decided to bring Dhoom Events Indian Wedding DJ onboard, who fired up the dancefloor playing the latest Bollywood hits! All of the guests had the time of their lives, and they only stopped dancing to taste the delicious plates cooked by IndAroma. Without any question, this gala was a huge success, and the dreamy reception Yogina & Keyur always wanted. And thanks to the talented crew from Studio Nine Photography + Cinema, we get to take a look at that the most charming moments of this evening, just like if we were there. If you want to relive this entire love story, don't miss the fantastic gallery that we've prepared for today and get that inspiration going! It is worth the while!
How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
We first met in DC after Keyur had moved back to California to start a new job. He came for the weekend. After having been on so many dates, he was the only one I felt I could connect with and have great conversation with. on our first date, he brought me White chocolate (he knew me so well). We both loved sports so we had out first date at "Penn Commons" in DC where I lived and worked.
Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
As we were long distance, we often met in LA or DC. He chose our proposal place perfect - planned a meal at Maydan. It was cold out and we wanted to catch a little bit of the Lakers game - so we decided to walk to a bar and then head to dinner. On our walk, he purposely chose to walk past our first date dessert place - Dolci Gelati on 8th Street. I had no idea until he got down on one knee and popped the question.
Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
I started with makeup artist as I knew they booked up quickly. I then started going to different venues. I really love nature and greenery so decided that was the direction I wanted to go. We also did a lot of wine tasting together so we loved the colors of the Vineards. It was not hard to plan with the help of family and friends who had been through the process already. Photography was another big thing for me, and I did a lot of research to find the right group. Its really important to prioritize what is important to you and start booking because the vendors you like tend to book up quickly. Keeping to a budget was also a priority so keeping that in mind, I planned to spend the most on makeup and photography.
How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
It took me a very long to find the perfect bridal lengha. I shopped around and was not happy until I came across Nazarana's selection. I've always wanted red and had a specific design in mind. When I put on the outfit, I knew immediately it was the one! The team at Nazarana was great and helped me design a blouse that was prefect for me. When I went back for my fitting, they even tightened it that day because i had to drive over 3 hours to get there.
What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
The most enjoyable part of planning was picking things I liked - décor, dresses and knowing I was going to marry Keyur.
What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
I feel there were many aspects the wedding my guest loved including the pre wedding functions. The food was great, the live violinist was excellent and the décor was beyond beautiful thanks to Sachi and team at Partyland. Everyone loved the décor, I heard someone refer to the décor as "Crazy Rich Asians". The DJ kept that party going, we have Gulab Jamun cheesecake was delicious as well as the Custom rustic cake from "Charm City Cakes". It was all around fun for all ages and for family and friends alike.
Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
When I was on stage and they lowered Keyur's "vail", I still remember looking at him and smiling the biggest smile - I was about to marry my best friend!
For events other than your ceremony, please tell us as much as you would like about the decor, style, dances, and all the special details.
The Mehdni was at our home as well as the Puja, we had home made food from my family which was to excellent. The Garba was at the main venue and it was great to have my family participate in countless dance practices to get our routine together.
Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
Prioritze! and Remember ENJOY your day. My husband and I had so much fun the day of our wedding and it really makes a difference. I never had a moment of stress or sadness during my wedding - its only little things. You want to be that bride that is happy on her wedding day - besides it only happens once.
Anything else you want to tell us? We'd love to hear all about your other details! (jewelry, mehndi, venue, cake, bouquets, etc.)
Mehndi with Heena was great - she was so accommodating and really did a great job with incorporating our relationship in to my design.
Cake was so yummy- check out "charm city cakes" if you are in the Maryland area - they have great flavors and so moist!
Makeup/hair - done for my mom and two sisters as well as me through Make-up by Ana. I loved Nancy and Uzma. Great job for everyone!
We hope you have a great week! See you tomorrow!
