Good morning, Maharanis! We are in the middle of this fantastic week, and we want to surprise you with a new love story. Today we are pleased to double feature all details that surrounded Nikhita & Nand's wedding celebration. You can enjoy this marvelous film, and you can also enjoy the beautiful photo gallery below. Both created by the enormous talent of The Santos and Co. How cool is that? To begin this journey, let me take you to the exclusive Ritz-Carlton Philadelphia, the perfect venue chosen by our lovebirds to tie the knot. Every detail of this life-changing celebration will enchant you. The talent of Diwan by Design was present through the entire celebration as they took care of the planning and execution of this event, delivering nothing but utter perfection. Such talent! Our gorgeous Maharani dazzled everyone looking like a princess from a fairy tale. Something to highlight on her royal look is the fantastic Mehndi art that Henna by Jinal created for her. It was something out of this world. We are lucky to have all of these moments captured in today's gallery. So, don't wait any longer and take a look at it. It is an absolute visual delight that you don't want to miss! We are sure you are going to love it as much as we did, not to mention that you will get tons of inspiration!
How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
Nand and I met 7 years ago on a dating app and started our relationship with 300 miles between us. We first met in a café half way between our NJ homes. This was just the beginning of a long series of dates during the summer of 2013 through which we got to know each other while Nand was in medical school in NYC and I was a fresh college graduate working in health policy. I fell for Nand's thoughtfulness, sharp mind, and serious drumming skills.
Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
After 4 years of long distance, we moved in together to a cozy apartment in the heart of Boston. Nand proposed soon after in Princeton where we spent many formative moments of our relationship and I excitedly said yes! The beautiful proposal was followed by a sweet surprise dinner with all of the people we love the most - our parents, siblings, and grandparents. The ring is a simple, chic, personalized relic from, NYC-based jeweler, Zameer Kassam, who worked with Nand to integrate pieces of our love story into the ring itself. ZK also designed and customized our wedding bands.
What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
Our guests loved Nand's Broad Street Baraat! We shut down a city block outside of Philadelphia City Hall (S. Broad Street) for the Baraat - everyone loved seeing Nand on a horse and dancing to beats by dholi Nihaal Singh and DJ Raj Minocha.
Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
Nand surprised me with a live band who played through our cocktail hour. Halfway through their set, Nand hopped on the drums and played two special songs with them. He's so talented and I'm his biggest fan!! Our guests loved hearing Nand play and so did I!
For events other than your ceremony, please tell us as much as you would like about the decor, style, dances, and all the special details.
Our Sangeet was pretty epic- it was held on the top floor of high rise building with gorgeous view of Philly! I wanted the Sangeet to have a super modern/city vibe so we went with neutrals (white/cream/gold) as opposed to the traditional bright colors. I wore a navy blue lengha designed by my mom and Nand wore a navy blue bandh gala.
Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
The most memorable part of our wedding was being surrounded by our closest friends and family members who came from near and far to celebrate our love. It's easy to get bogged down in the details of wedding planning so we tried to remind ourselves of the big picture! You're marrying the love of your life and that's what matters the most!
You will be delighted by the love story that we have prepared for you tomorrow. So please visit us!
