Good morning, Maharanis! We have reached the end of this fantastic week, but we are not done yet! We have prepared a phenomenal time for you. So get ready to be amazed by the beauty that surrounded Reashma & Sujith's wedding celebration. This was a glorious celebration, where two different cultures mingle together to celebrate the love union from their favorite ones. The interiors of The Reformed Church of Poughkeepsie was chosen by our lovely duo to celebrate their wedding ceremony. Everything was perfectly trimmed and planned by L&B Events, who took our lovebirds' vision and transformed it into a dream come true! And we cannot forget about the marvelous decoration crafted by House of Dipali, who filled every inch of this celebration with beautiful floral arrangements that left everyone speechless. To conclude this phenomenal time, a fantastic wedding reception was hosted inside the halls of The Villa Borghese, and to turn the gala into an epic party, our friends from DJTM jumped into the stage and played their phenomenal beats, making everyone dance the whole night! Thank heaven we have the talent from The DV Image, who captured all details and created this fantastic gallery. So make sure to visit it. I know that you will be delighted!
Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
We went about planning our wedding by first looking for the perfect venue. My husband's family resides in Long Island, NY and my family resides in Albany, NY. We decided to have the wedding in Poughkeepsie, NY since it was the halfway point between our hometowns. The staff at the Villa Borghese were on board from the get-go. Nothing was too much to ask and they went above and beyond to accommodate our every whim. For the ceremony, I had always wanted to get married in a beautiful, old church with lots of architectural details. Both Sujith and I instantly fell in love with the Reformed Church of Poughkeepsie on sight. Because of the classic design of my dress and the old world style of the church, we decided on an English Garden feel for our ceremony. We had lots of white and blush pink florals accented with greenery throughout the space. For our evening reception, we decided to add black accents to bring more dramatic flair. House of Dipali was responsible for all of our florals and staging.
How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
I remember watching the Royal Wedding in 2018 and falling in love with Meghan Markle's simple, yet elegant wedding gown. I knew right then that I wanted my wedding gown to be as equally timeless. After trying on many dresses, I came to the realization that I may need to go the custom route in order to achieve what I envisioned. I went to Xena's Bridal, a local boutique in my hometown, and I was able to customize an existing gown by Casablanca. My wedding gown ended up being everything I imagined and more!
What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
My guests loved the Venetian Hour at the end of our wedding. The Villa Borghese brought out eight tables of desserts from La Deliziosa Bakery and guests were provided with little boxes to take desserts home. There were also sparklers, an ice sculpture, and a Bananas Foster Flambé station. Villa Borghese also provided Gyros and fries for all of our guests as a late night snack on their way out.
Was there a really special moment at your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
The highlight of the night was looking onto the dance floor and seeing all of our friends and family from all over the world crowded onto the dance floor. We felt so blessed and loved at that moment.
For events other than your ceremony, please tell us as much as you would like about the decor, style, dances, and all the special details.
My cousins and I have choreographed and danced together since we were very young and so I thought it only appropriate that we perform at the reception. All of my bridesmaids joined in and it was such a special part of the evening.
