Hello, beautiful Maharanis! Today is a good day to continue enriching our minds and creativity by looking at a new love story that is as beautiful as inspiring. So, make sure to have your notebook handy because Vidhya & Kishore's wedding celebration is about to blow your mind with so many unique and mesmerizing ideas! This celebration started with a traditional and fabulous Sangeet Ceremony, in no less than the imponent Renaissance Dallas at Plano Legacy West. After all, the long-awaited wedding day arrived, and these two lovebirds were more than prepared to link their lives in marriage. They wanted to keep a memory of every moment of this life milestone, so they decided to bring Bonnie Sen Photography on board to capture every detail of this dreamy day. The charming couple wanted to get India to the United States, and they did so! by celebrating their wedding ceremony at the luxury mansion The Olana. The sea green lengha designed by Sabyasachi that Vidhya wore for the main ceremony was impressive, as Tease to Please Hair put on her elegant and glamourous makeup and hairdo. Hence, our Maharani looked like she was from an Indian fairytale! After the emotional moments, they had a traditional-vibrant reception party, and all the guests danced the night away and enjoyed the delicious plates, cake, and treats that were served. All we have to say is that this reception party was beyond words and in case you were wondering who was responsible for the rhythmic music Shehnai Guy had the honor to be. Electric Karma International did a great job planning this unforgettable event with a fancy design. But if you, like us, could not get enough of it, check out more of this magical celebration of love in today's full gallery. You'll love it!
Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
We had to cancel our destination wedding in India due to flight restrictions during the pandemic and had four weeks to start from scratch! We enlisted Electric Karma's help to secure a venue and logistics. It took four weeks to plan their three-day wedding.
We fell in love with the Olana, a mansion on the outskirts of Dallas, TX. The mansion's vast grounds, fountains, pools, and chandeliers mirrored the European influences of the palaces in India. Having lost our mothers, we drew a lot of their aesthetic inspiration on all the wedding looks and the decor for the wedding.
Prashe created a mandap with greens, gold, and bougainvilleas, the favorite flower of both their nearly departed moms, as a symbol of their presence right above our altar. It served as a pop of color as we wore subdued ivory and greens.
How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
We selected muted green tones for our ceremony as a tribute to my mother's favorite color and wedding dress. I finalized a custom Sabyasachi lehenga gown paired with uncut and cut diamonds, emeralds, and pearls gold necklace and earrings. I completed the look with her mother's gold bangles as something borrowed.
What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
We were suffering from a bit of “decision fatigue” as this was the third time we were planning this wedding, as the first two were canceled due to the pandemic. It was helpful to have our team at Electric Karma, Prashe, Bonnie Sen, Mir Anwar, and Olana, to keep us focused on making those critical decisions, ultimately making our wedding an ultimate success. Bharati kept us focused by inviting us to all the food and cocktail tastings.
What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
Our guests loved our gift baskets provided upon hotel check-in. It included a bottle of champagne, personalized groomsmen carryall, jewelry, and custom-made pouches made by Payal Singhal, including a silk face mask, silk hair band for the ladies, and a silk pocket square for the gents. This included personalized messages detailing the weekend's events.
They also loved the ambiance created by the live music with the shehnai (@shehnaiguy) and tabla (@agambeats) during the ceremony playing on the second-floor balcony. the natural acoustics for the room was phenomenal.
For events other than your ceremony, please tell us as much as you would like about the decor, style, dances, and all the special details.
For their pre-wedding celebrations held at Vidhya's family home, I wore a yellow floral saree by Varun Bahl and a Kanjeevaram silk saree by Gaurang.
For the evening Sangeet, Prashe created a complete bohemian oasis with a custom emerald green dance floor. To match the bohemian vibe, I wore a gown by Payal Singhal and paired it with a top by Cinq a Sept. Kishore wore a blue sherwani by Kunal Rawal, wedding date embroidered on the back of the Sherwani.
Thanks for being part of this lovely story today, and remember, always be back for more!
