Florham Park, NJ Indian Wedding by Studio KSD

We know you missed us during your well deserved weekend, ladies! So it is time to kick start a new week of love celebrations and ravishing parties that only our Maharanis are able to pull off. Today, coming from Florham Park in New Jersey, we have Jasminder & Amol's quintessential Indian wedding bash! The Brooklake Country Club lent itself to witness our lovebirds tie the knot and what a wonderful ceremony that was. The flowers and decoration were crafted by Nirali Decor and we are absolutely loving the overall Hindu and South Asian vibes and energy of the spree. The day began early for our bride. After the outdoor photo shoot with her soon to be husband and the lovely chartreuse lengha the bridesmaids wore, it was time to head down to the venue for the main ceremony. Maharani Jasminder showed up wearing this beautiful ruby lengha with golden features that sure made her look like the eastern princess she is. Flawless Beauty by Pauline certainly did an amazing job dolling our bride up! Head to today's gallery by Studio KSD for more!

Amol and I took a last minute trip to California and stayed in Carmel-by-the-Sea. Even though it was a fairly last minute trip, the planner-mode in me took over and planned every aspect of the vacation. Little did I know, my soon to be fiancé, Amol, was trying to plan something special of his own! Usually, when we are on vacation, Amol and I like to run through the local town/neighborhood to explore the area. Carmel-by-the-Sea was no exception, and it is the perfect place to do so with its picturesque houses along the beach.  As we were getting ready to go for an early morning run, Amol kept trying to convince me to take a shower and do my hair. I kept saying, “Why would anyone do that before a run!” I decided to at least look somewhat presentable because I  knew I'd ask him to take a ton of pictures of us since we had plans to run along Pebble Beach. As we were running I took a bunch of pictures on my phone, but once we arrived at the beach I wanted my real camera to take a picture on the beach. Amol had conveniently offered to hold it in his backpack that he took along with him.  As I was gazing towards the water, Amol was rustling around in his backpack for my camera, but when I turned around it wasn't the camera he was holding, it was the ring! Next thing you know, he was down on one knee! Of course, I said YES!

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
Venue: Brooklake Country Club - Everyone was AMAZING! Peter and his staff really went above and beyond to make our day so special. The service, space, every one helped to make the night perfect! Catering: Rasoi Catering - Working with Sagar and his team was great. Our guests LOVED the food! Everyone commented that all the dishes were top notch and extremely flavorful! Bridal Makeup: Pauline Nobles - Pauline really made me feel flawless! I felt so beautiful. I loved how she transformed my look for the reception and I received so many compliments the entire night about my hair and makeup!! Decor: Niral Decor – Nirali and her husband were so sweet and kind and worked with us each step of the way! DJ: MC Pervez was SO GOOD! He really knew how to work for the crowd, get everyone on the dance floor, but most importantly made us, as the bride and groom feel special! Mehndhi: Henna by Pallavi - Pallavi is such a hardworking, creative, and kind artist.  She spent hours doing my bridal henna and helped to calm me down when things were getting hectic. Her intricate designs really matched my style and I loved how the designs came out!

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
My parents and I went to India to get my wedding outfits. It felt so surreal going, because that last time I was in India, was for my sister's wedding, almost 8 years earlier. We went to a lot of different shops to browse around and even took some long road trips to look for the perfect outfit. I wanted to go with the classic red look for my ceremony. My mom was very influential in helping to pick out my ceremony lengha and I have to admit, Moms are always right! It was perfect. As for the reception outfit, I didn't really have anything specific in mind, but I knew from the minute I tried on my reception outfit, it was the one that would make me look and feel like a princess, and it really did!

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
One of the most enjoyable parts of wedding planning was getting creative and seeing everything come together at the end.  Even though Amol and I had been dating for so long, wedding planning also helped us learn more about each other and what was important to each. In the end, we felt so accomplished getting it all together!

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
The food from Rasoi!

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
Amol and I decided to get Multicolor LED foam glow sticks but weren't sure when we would end up using them.  For most of the night, we had people on the dance floor but there was a brief period after dinner that was quiet.  We knew it was time for the glow sticks! We brought them out and everyone got re-energized and we had a packed dance floor! We loved this moment because it got all of our friends and family together and we all had so much fun dancing the night away!

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
It can be hard to accept but not everything will not go as expected. However, in the end, you will have one of the most fun nights of your life! No one will notice the little things that may not have gone exactly as planned! Enjoy every moment and as long as you have fun it was all worth it! And don't forget to SMILE!!

You can't miss part two, Maharanis!

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
We both attended the same Alma Mater, University at Buffalo and through mutual friends we started talking and the spark started when we met each other in person on a summer day. As I approached him, with the feeling of excitement and butterflies in my stomach, I saw him holding flowers and the sweetest smile. From that moment, our love story began.

Aashish and I were taking a trip to Punta Cana in Spring 2018. I was so sure as well as everyone else that he would be proposing on our trip in paradise. I had the perfect outfit, the perfect makeup, and nails and was patiently waiting every day for the big moment. To my disappointment, he did not propose to me there. Two months later, on a hot summer day, Aashish persuaded me to accompany him to a Pharma conference on Governors Island, N.Y. or at least that’s what I had thought. Prior to, I was in NYC attending my cousin’s graduation party and was not prepared to think I would be engaged as well as not having the attire to attend a conference. I had borrowed a blue dress from my cousin, my mother in law’s purse, and an antique piece of jewelry. As we walked through Governor’s Island, Aashish did not seem serious about his conference which started stressing me out. Until we reached Outlook Hill, the highest elevation on the island overlooking the entire bay of beautiful NYC. With the intense heat and my frustration building, I turned around and saw him on one knee asking me to spend the rest of my life with him with the most gorgeous diamond ring. Of course, I was caught completely off guard and surprised, with the same butterflies I had the first time I saw him. At that moment, I said YES! And I finally had something blue, something old, something borrowed and something new.

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
We contacted a wedding planner to get a general idea of a checklist that would be required for our engagement. From choosing a date as the first important item to smaller but important details as well. Maharani Weddings also gave us a comprehensive list of venues, hair & makeup artists, DJs etc. We began contacting and making appointments with all the vendors we were interested in. As the weekends passed, our exhaustive list was becoming complete. As we neared to the end of our list, we saw our vision and hard work become as true as we imagined. The photographer was the best friend of my fiance who did an excellent job. His professional, respect and dedication made our event as memorable as we experienced it.

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
For the morning ceremony, I wanted to wear summer colors. So after many unsuccessful shopping trips around NJ/NYC area, I found this gorgeous coral pink/ blood orange lehenga with turquoise green with a beautiful lemon yellow dupatta via a facetime shopping session from a store named “Wedding” from Surat, Gujarat, India. For my evening outfit, I had found this gorgeous navy blue gown with gold embroidery on Pinterest. I looked for it everywhere but was not able to find this in any store. I came across Lehaar collection, from one of my best friends. Chetna Ranat and her team from Lehaar collection was able to create an outstanding lehenga based on one picture. The best part was that she involved me in every step of the way. I was involved in picking the fabric, deciding on the color shade to finalizing embroidery design.  I was stunned at the final product. Absolutely loved it.

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
I had asked my fiance what part did he enjoyed the most during our planning and as the romantic he is, he had said: “Spending every moment with you, whether your angry, happy, sad, and hopeful”.

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
They enjoyed the food and the details to decor and color, but most of all they loved dancing away til past midnight, they loved our DJ and the fact he kept everyone so well entertained and on their feet, they just couldn't come off the dance floor. They kept asking for more and stayed past the nights end.

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
Our first dance as a newly engaged couple. We danced on our favorite song “All the way” by Frank Sinatra and celine dion. And in the middle of the song, when it goes All the way.. Aashish lift me up and held me in the air and in that moment I felt like the luckiest girl in the world.

For events other than your ceremony, please tell us as much as you would like about the decor, style, dances, and all the special details.
For our engagement reception, we decided to wear navy blue in our outfits so we wanted to go with decor that compliments our outfits but does not blend in. So we decided on gold and white and just hints of navy blue. We had two speeches, one from the bride to be’s dad and one from the groom to be’s sister. We have two dance performances, one from the bride’s niece and nephew and one from the groom’s nieces. The most special performance was the one that aashish’s sister, Sejal and I planned to surprise Aashish. We danced on Baji Rao Mastani’s Deewani Mastani.

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
Stay calm and enjoy every moment of planning and just remember how much you love each other. Do take your parents advice because it is a very special event for them as well.

That is all for today Maharanis, but more to come next! See you soon!
