Our Maharani looks royal in her floor-length blue anarkali while her beau looks sharp in a tailored suit and tie. Beauty by Lishma lets down our bride's long hair, giving her an alluring half up-down do. The memorable night was filled with lots of laughs, great food and of course, tons of dancing! Hats off to Shilpa Patel Events for planning such a lavish event! If only we had the highlight reel by the awesome Samson Productions on this wedding! I'll just have to go to the gallery to relive every fantastic moment!

From the bride, on the special moments:

"There were many incredible moments throughout the weekend. It was great to have all of our loved ones in one place. Walking down the aisle with my mamas, brother and nephew, feeling the love and support from everyone in the room was very moving and powerful! Also, listening to the speeches at the reception, the heartfelt and even embarrassing tidbits that were shared about us were incredibly memorable!"

On the first dance:

"Our first dance was a mash-up of John Legend’s “All of Me,” and “Happy,” by Pharrell Williams. Somehow we had both independently chosen “All of Me” before we had discussed it together. The song truly speaks to both of us on many levels so it was only appropriate to include it in our first dance. We danced the Foxtrot to “All of Me” and Salsa’d our way through “Happy”. I loved all of the lifts and turns we worked so hard to get right."

On family and friends helping:

"Indian weddings are very involved from start to finish. We had a lot of support from many people; it would not have been possible otherwise. From family in India, to family and friends here who pitched in to make food and snacks leading up to the day, letting us borrow and transport tons of items, not to mention our amazing friends who helped organize and setup multiple events. It was definitely a group effort that made the day easy and stress-free for us. Our vendors are friends we have worked with time and again, and did an incredible job making it a beautiful day from start to finish. Deepti (“Deepti’s Florals”), Lishma (“Beauty by Lishma”), Kamal (“Dhamaka Entertainment”), and our incredible photographers, Jose Zakany (“Jose Zakany Photography”) and Aman Samson (“Samson Productions”), all worked really hard. We loved the final result and couldn’t have asked for more!"

Have a great day, girls!

Tucson, AZ Indian Pre-Wedding Celebration by Sameer Soorma Studios

Hello there, sweethearts! Take a much needed minute or two for yourselves and take a gander at these colorful mehndi & sangeet pre-Indian wedding celebrations that took place in Tucson, Arizona, which we also featured in our E-magazine! The wonderful Sameer Soorma Studios captures the brightest of moments with this happy couple. First off, is the mehndi  ceremony, in which Maharani Ashley is decked out in a rainbow of colors, salwar kameez. Henna by Purvi beautifully decorates the blushing bride-to-be's hands, arms, legs & feet with a gorgeous mehndi design! Then, we moved on to Day 2 for the sensational Moroccan-themed sangeet celebration, which took place at the grand Million Air Tucson! Maharani Ashley looks exquisite in her purple & gold lengha! I heard it was 100+ degree heat so the couple made the smart & thoughtful decision to hold the ceremony at night-time to accommodate the guests. Afterall, this was during the month of June! I heard Ashley's sweet, sweet father even got custom-designed air conditioners for the guests to enjoy. Word around town is that there were lots of singing and dancing to the beats of dhol from the very talented JupmasterG of Dhol Beat International along with the DJs of the incomparable Wicked Entertainment. Oh, and finally, every detail of this event was meticulously planned by Suzanne Taussig Wedding & Event Design. See more of the festivities in the gallery!

From the bride, on the pre-wedding celebration fashions:

"My Mom, Aunt and I searched high and low for all my outfits. We decided that my Mehndi outfit had to be fun and Punjabi (we had a punjabi themed mehndi). We brought parandas from India for all the girls. The colors for my Mehndi were bright yellow and just fun and crazy. The Sangeet was Moroccon themed so we decided on a Sharara - the sharara was so beautiful and intricate - the matching Jhumar really put the whole outfit together."

On the jewelry:

"I can't say enough about all my wedding Jewelry. At my mehndi, I wore earrings and a Maang Tikka from the 1920s, that jewelry used to belong to my great, great grandmother. At the sangeet, I wore earrings that my Nanima gave me - they were so intricate and heavy."
