Welcome back, Maharanis! We are honored to share the unique love story between Fauzul and Nisha. Our romantic groom did what most women only dreams about. He organized a flash mob for Nisha in front of the tower at UT Austin and proposed! He managed to get all their family and friends to show up despite snow and ice and make it a tear-jerking experience for all parties. On top of the proposal, they celebrated their wedding with no less than seven wedding events included. You can get all the juicy details in the interview with the bride posted below the gorgeous pictures captured by Aventography Photo & Video Studios. But for now, let's take a closer look at the baraat and hindu ceremony. Nisha fell in love with a red and gold lehenga and oh, did it suit her well! As you can see in the pictures, mehndi artists from Henna by Purvi finished the dazzling look with the most beautiful henna tattoos covering her arms and hands. Nisha's glorious smoky eyes and red lips were made by Makiaj Beauty and she looked like a true maharani walking down the aisle. Planning and design were coordinated to perfection by professional planners from K.I. Weddings and Classic Mustang Rentals delivered a to-dye-for red and white sports car. Both baraat, ceremony, and reception were held at the elegant The Phoenician. Jhakaas Entertainment and Desi Junction played a large role entertainment wise. Prince Sharma from Desi Junction flew in to DJ at the baraat and reception and Mehul of Jhakaas Entertainment DJ'd at the dhol. AV, lighting, screens, projectors, stage wash, gobos, spot lights, pin spotting were all provided by Jhakaas Entertainment. Further fun was brought to the venue by Headquarters Hookah. Both ceremony and reception were flowerful experiences gracefully created by Simply Elegant Event & Wedding Design and kept in a classic deep red, white, and glittery gold color scale. How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
I met Fauzul in college when we were attending the University of Texas at Austin. I met him through my roommate and he was her childhood friend from India. I knew he was the one when I could spend countless hours sitting with him and chatting away. I also realized that I had to talk to him every morning or it seemed like something was just missing. I also wanted to be absolutely sure he was the one before I spoke to my parents since, he was a different religion. Fauzul is a muslim and I am Hindu and I knew that having this conversation was not going to be easy with my parents as that was something they would never approve of. After, convincing them for over 3 years they agreed to meet him and see what kind of person he was. Once, they meet him they felt at ease and thought he was the right person for me. So, it made our hindi movie fairy tale come to life!
Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
Fauzul and I meet at the UT Austin and he felt that proposing to me there was so much more meaningful than any other place in the world. He actually coordinated a flashmob performance in front of the UT Tower, and he managed to have all of our family and friends make it there through the snow and ice that shut down many of the highways in Texas at that time. This was such a dream and such a well thought out way for him to ask me to marry him. I still remember that day and watch that video to relive that moment that I experienced.
Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
Planning a wedding can be very stressful, but I think for me the venue was the most difficult part. We actually wanted to do a destination wedding but alot of the places we considered were difficult to find vendors especially ones that were geared towards the Indian culture. After, going through many options we finally hired a company to help us plan our wedding. After, hiring KI weddings we started making alot more progress to finding a venue. We wanted something that was easier for all of our family to get to so we decided to keep it in the US. We specifically selected Arizona. We did a couple of site visits but absolutely feel in love with the Phoenician resort right outside Phoenix.
Hair and Makeup was another vendor that Nirali our lead wedding planner helped us on. I did a couple of trials and I feel in love with my trial with Pooja at Makiaj Beauty.
I had 7 wedding events so I was going to need somewhere that has options for all the different outfits. So, we decided to go to India. Specifically we went to Bombay and Ahmedabad. I wanted different looks for all of my events so I tried to find outfits that fit the theme and would look unique.
Decor was also a difficult part since we wanted to make sure that I could incorporate everything that I imagined my wedding to have. We decided for the mehndi to be colorful and fun, my garba to be mediterranean themed. The hindu ceremony I wanted to keep traditional and stick to the red and white colors, and nikkah (muslim ceremony) I decided to do a classy blush pink, purple, and gold theme to go with my outfit. And, last but not least my reception which I wanted to be super elegant so I went with the gold and candles everywhere look with a splash of red roses.
How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
My hindu wedding lengha I wanted to be the traditional red, white, green, gold but I could not find a dress like that but I feel in love with the red and gold outfit I chose.
For my muslim ceremony, I wanted something different and not something you usually see so I went with a gown and floral pattern since I feel in love with it when I wore it and it fit me like a glove.
What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
I think the most enjoyable part of the process was planning, coordinating details, and working on everything with my mom and sister. They were there through my entire process of planning and I look back on those moments and miss how much time we spent together planning.
What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
I think the guests loved our venue, how different the outfits were everyday, and how we had different cuisines at each event that went with our theme.
Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
I know that this is probably cliche but the first look when I saw my husband-to-be's face and the tears in his eye when he saw me for the first time before the ceremony. That was the moment that I dreamed up my entire life when I was a child. Also, when my mama and dad walked me down the aisle, I knew how much it meant to both of them to walk me down the aisle that is when I knew that everything leading up to this day was worth it!
For events other than your ceremony, please tell us as much as you would like about the decor, style, dances, and all the special details.
For the mendhi event, we decided to keep it fun and colorful. So my mami created games that involved both sides of the family and really brought us all together. It was a smaller, more intimate wedding so we had the ability to do games where everyone could participate.
The garba was mediterranean themed so we had mediterranean food and even the lighting to decor reminded you of the middle eastern culture.
My reception we used gold and candles everywhere, so we decided to do our entrance slightly differently so we entered the banquet hall in a pedicab which added a fun aspect to the classy atmosphere.
Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
Do not stress out about your wedding weekend, even though it is hard dont forget to enjoy yourself since you worked so hard for this weekend.

For jewelry, I wore my mothers jewelry that bought for me when I was a child. It was such a great feeling to see my mom's face when I was wearing her jewelry for my wedding day.
One of my Aunties that I have known since I was a child did my mother's mehndi for her wedding day and I was sooo blessed to have her in do my mehndi on my wedding day. I loved seeing that moment when she started the henna on my hands and had tears in her eyes since it reminded her of my mother's wedding day.
