Hi Ladies! Once again we bring another fabulous wedding celebration just for you! Tulsi & Zack are the protagonists of a fusion fairytale that took place at the wonderful Kent Manor Inn. This premier space was elegantly decorated by MM Celebrations for the wedding party that followed the dreamy outdoor ceremony. This time Maharani Tulsi slipped into a ravishing white lace gown and opted to wear her beautiful long hair down and a natural makeup look, created by the beauty experts of Color Me Rouge. Raja Zack decided to continue with an impeccable style and wore a polished black suit he finished off with a lovely light blue arrow tie. The night was enlivened by Medley Entertainment who provided all the pumping beats that made the reception a night for the ages! Ishan Fotografi was there and snapped every move and also captured these soulmates in a super romantic golden hour and night photo shoot that will leave you in complete awe. How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?

Zack and I had known each other for a couple of years as co-workers. We exchanged a few words in the kitchen pantry and crossed paths every now and then. However, we never really had a conversation until one of our work happy hours (which I wasn't even planning to attend...but I'm glad I did). After a few hours of talking and joking around, I knew that he was going to be someone special.

It was a random Saturday in December - I had just run my first 5k with Zack; we attended one of my cousin's 1st birthday parties, and we had made plans to go watch the new Star Wars movie that had just come out. After the movie, Zack convinced me to cross the street and stop by the fountain at Lincoln Center, one of our popular meetup spots. It was cold and late and I was irritated that Zack was so insistent ongoing. After some convincing, I gave in and climbed the steps towards the fountain eventually turning around to see Zack down on one knee. Honestly, I had no idea what was going on and probably told him to get up about half a dozen times. It then took me about 4 minutes (apparently the longest 4 minutes of Zack's life) to process what was happening and eventually say YES! As someone who is very organized and loves to plan, I was shocked that he was able to surprise me and am so glad it happened at one of our favorite spots in the city.

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.

I loved the wedding planning process. I am a naturally organized person so it was super fun for me. I had tons of Pinterest boards, saved albums on my phone, etc. I knew I wanted to blend a rustic theme into a traditional Hindu ceremony and took all the inspo I could get to make it come to life. My vendors were all so amazing and are super talented - they're the reason our wedding was so perfect and how our vision came to life so flawlessly!

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?

I always wanted something traditional but didn't want to do red. I searched all over Mumbai looking for a pastel-colored wedding lengha (I really wanted something light that would look nice against the greenery during my outdoor wedding). Kalki was the first store I went into and I loved so many of their outfits (especially the one I ended up picking) but I didn't want to settle on the first store or on a hot pink lengha when I really wanted something pastel. No matter which stores I went into, my mind always came back to Kalki. I ended up back in the store, tried on the hot pink lengha and fell in love! There was no going back to the pastel search - hot pink was for me!

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?

Getting to plan with so many of my loved ones and seeing them get so excited about everything! We all had something so exciting to look forward to.

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?

How we blended together traditions from both sides and how it really was about the US. Many of my guests could tell how special the entire weekend was and how it was so "Tulsi & Zack," which made us feel so great (especially when South Asian weddings can very quickly not be about the bride & groom). We had a traditional Hindu wedding but incorporated a Pittsburgh cookie table (which is a tradition where my husband is from).

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?

Our first dance! The crowd went nuts and it was so great to see Zack absolutely kill it!

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?

Enjoy EVERY minute of your wedding! It goes by incredibly fast. I know often times the stress gets to you leading up to the big day and you can't wait for it to be over, but just take a moment to reflect on the entire journey and remember why it's all so important. I would also recommend carrying that through the entire wedding weekend. It's very easy to get swept up in the motions and stick to a schedule...but don't forget to pause and take in the moment. If there is something you really wanted to do or see or set up in a particular way, don't forget to ENJOY the moment! I particularly loved seeing my guests faces at various points throughout the weekend and it just filled my heart up with so much love and happiness.

Anything else you want to tell us? We'd love to hear all about your other details! (jewelry, mehndi, venue, cake, bouquets, etc.)

We didn't end up doing a cake and did a cookie table instead! It's a tradition based out of Pittsburgh where my husband's family is from. About 80 dozen cookies were baked by family/friends and the remaining 100 dozen came from a bakery. We had over 40 different types of cookies and even had little decorated bags so our guests could take cookies to go!

I wore my mangalsutra to my reception with my white wedding dress - blended together an Indian tradition with an American one. My mangalsutra was made in Mumbai - if you look closely enough at the photos you can see that it's more of a modern design (gold/silver chain, a diamond in the middle with 2 black beads on each end) vs a more traditional look. I wanted something like this so I could wear my mangalsutra every day (esp to work)!

Columbus, OH South Indian Wedding by Beaded Elephant (FKA Jobst Media)

Elegance, what a word! Some couples seek it, other couples just have it within. Divya & Shwetabh are one of those couples that effortlessly came up looking absolutely dazzling. The color palette these two lovebirds chose for their spree is truly an ode to taste. The light pastel colors contrasting with the strong and lively features of gold are definitely something to look at and were even present in the great sweet piece of art that Short North Piece of Cake created for the event. After the gorgeous ceremony came to an end, the now newlyweds headed to Greater Columbus Convention Center for the incredibly amazing reception. The outfits chosen for cocktails were to die for. Maharani Divya turned into a glittering Hindu princess wearing this maroon velvet modern choli with a floral lengha skirt that knocked every one of their feet, without mentioning Raja Shwetabh's suit of course! How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?

Shwe and I met at SkyZone in Columbus, OH when I was home after graduation. Our dear friends, Meera and Chintal asked us to go because Chintal's younger brother was in town. It was not a set up (or so we think) but both of us happened to be invited. We all started playing dodgeball about an hour into the outing. Shwe threw the ball, I got hit in the face, my nose started bleeding and the rest is history. I moved to NYC at the end of that summer and Shwe followed a year later. We were still just friends at the time. My Dad came to visit me in the fall for a conference, and Shwe came to a bar to meet us for a drink. I could barely get a word in the entire time. Shwe and my Dad hit it off instantly. I did not realize it at the time, but that is definitely how I knew he was "the one". It was so effortless and just felt right.

Shwe asked my friend Shriya to take me to brunch at Augustine, a restaurant connected to the Beekman Hotel in NYC. It was Sunday, January 14th and I thought Shriya and I were out for Sunday Funday for brunch and shopping. After we ate, Shriya asked if I need to use the restroom. We proceeded to go into the Beekman Hotel basement where the restrooms are located, and at bottom of the stairs stood Shwe all dressed up in a velvet blazer, bowtie, and slacks. I immediately started crying and was completely shocked. Our friend Preston was there to catch the moment live on video and camera. After the proposal, I wanted to call my parents immediately. Shwe said to hold on a bit because he wanted us to take some pictures and show me the second location he had in mind to propose. When we walked into the second place - the Public Hotel - we proceeded to go up the escalator and there stood both of our parents and our siblings. The tears didn't stop flowing that day!

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.

A great wedding planner and a support system including family and friends are key especially when planning a wedding, even more so when it’s in a city that you do not live in. My mom coordinated the in-person meetings and I did most of the planning remotely, via email, phone calls and weekend trips home. The Knot is a great resource for local vendors, I found my awesome hair and makeup team on there. We also attended a few wedding expos, we found our decorator at one that was specifically for Indian weddings. Our family friend Preethi, who is more like an older sister, with my mom and sisters in law helped me finalize the themes for the decor and really handled all of our walkthroughs and meetings. We chose the colors based on the outfits that Shwe and I would be wearing and our card inserts matched the theme in the invite as well. I used my friends who had gotten married as a resource as well and chose our photographer, planner, and DJ that way. To find a venue for 600 plus people was challenging but what was even more important was to find one that allowed outside catering. Using that criteria I was able to narrow down my search and chose Hyatt Downtown for our Sangeet and the Convention Center for the ceremony and the reception. Without all of the help that Shwe and I had, I don’t even know where I would have started to plan, they made the process easier for me and not as stressful as I had imagined it to be!

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?

I wanted to be a typical South Indian bride and carry on the tradition of my cousins of wearing a light pink color. When we went to India, we saved the saree shopping for Chennai so that my grandmother could come with and approve of the outfit. She turned 90 last year and was unable to make the wedding in person so this was something that I really wanted us to do together. We went to a few saree shops in Chennai and I ended up choosing it from Kanakavalli. They had the lightest colors of pink that I could find and I loved it especially because of the detail on the border that had elephants and peacocks.

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?

The most enjoyable part of the planning process was realizing how many people you can lean on in your life. I know this sounds cheesy as hell, but the amount of help we received without ever even asking for it was mind-blowing. My parents have lived in Columbus, OH for over 40 years and they have such an amazing support network. Our friends have become family and it was so fun that everyone was involved - it felt like we all had a stake in it. My family would get together every Sunday to practice the dances for the Sangeet and then in the evening our friends would come over and have a potluck while they wrapped gifts. It was just feeling all the love that made it even more special.

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?

The most special moment was the entrance into the wedding. My sisters-in-law, cousins, best friend and three nieces started off the procession followed by me entering with my brothers. I held their hands and they walked me down the aisle to where Shwe was waiting with my parents. It was so incredibly personal for us and our families and something I will always cherish.

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?

Tequila is your friend in times of stress. It goes well with Soda and Lime (if you are on the wedding diet). That was my signature cocktail!

All of our vendors were amazing - they made our lives easier for being so on top of everything and making our wedding what it was! But I especially want to thank Short North Piece of Cake for bringing my elephant cake dream to life! It was one of the highlights of the reception and was so flawless that I was sad to cut into it. It was even more delicious than it was beautiful.

Columbus, OH South Indian Wedding by Beaded Elephant (FKA Jobst Media)

Isn't it magical when a couple effortlessly displays an aura of love so beautiful that it is virtually impossible not to feel it? Well, things do fall into place every once in a while for those who know where to look! Today, we have a gorgeous couple that truly shines. Our friends from Beaded Elephant (FKA Jobst Media) bring for you, ladies, the image gallery of what was Divya & Shwetabh's grand South Indian wedding, coming straight out of Columbus in Ohio. These two tied the knot in great style thanks to the genius planners of Blissful Weddings and Events, and we have all the highlights here for our sighing and inspiration. The Mehndi and Sangeet parties at the Hyatt Regency Columbus were definitely something out of this world! They saw our bride change from a royal blue outfit to a gorgeous teal lengha that was all things enchanting and chic. For the main ceremony, Maharani Divya chose an extremely elegant baby pink silk saree ensemble, seriously, this bride was beyond stunning. More of part one of this color fueled jubilee? Geetika & Amit's heartwarming reception has arrived, ladies! Our beautiful couple was all things romantic and joyful at all times so I can't wait to share their wedding album with you because the level of tenderness is to the maximum! After the ceremony, our duo headed down to the reception hall of the Hotel Monaco to kick start their new life as husband and wife with a grand party. Just as it should be. Elegant Events Planning & Design took it up a notch and crafted for our couple, the gala they saw in their dreams. Magical indeed! DJ Ravi Jackson blasted the beats that made everyone jump from their seats into the dance floor to perform some ravishing Bollywood style moves. Welcome back, Maharanis! A new feature is here to brighten our day and I'm just loving every minute of it. It is incredible to witness that people all over the world still believe in love. Do you believe in love, ladies? We know you do, so to keep on spreading it, we have a brand new wedding to daydream about. Today, we head down to Philadelphia along with Anton Drummond Photography to relive Geetika & Amit's amazing celebration. Maharani Geetika was looking gorgeous for her big day, she was assisted by the talented mehndi artist, Henna by Jinal, who crafted her artistic and minimal bridal mehndi design. Your Maharani vibe is not complete unless your hand and feet are embellished with lovely henna patterns! Aleksandra Ambrozy Makeup and Hair Artistry joined the glam squad and dolled up the bride in such a way, that I'm certain Raja Amit couldn't believe his eyes.
