Chantilly, Virginia Sikh Wedding by HnM Photoz

I am beyond words by the wedding of Seema and Vijender! Words do not do justice to this magnificent Sikh affair, but thankfully, HnM Photoz joined this beautiful Punjabi couple to capture all the essence of their wedding weekend! The Westfields Marriott Washington Dulles was the premier choice of this couple to celebrate in style surrounded by the timeless elegance of its halls! Shagun Weddings’ amazing mandap design in pink and mint colors matched the color palette of the charming bridal party. The hanging flowers and the cushions that accommodated the witnesses also matched the wedding theme. Brilliant! The celebrated makeup artist, Suman Khosla, created a radiant glow in Seema’s face with a soft makeup style and a bold lip color! At the same time, she carried a pink rose bridal bouquet that was as charming as her Raja that made his way to the ceremony surrounded by their loved ones in a white steed from Harmon's Hayrides and Carriages! See all the details of the blissful ceremony in our full gallery.

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
I had no idea he was going to propose that day, I was in shock as I was expecting it a few months later, it was one of the happiest moments of my life!

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
The first part of the wedding was booking the venue, followed by the outfit shopping and setting up appointments with other vendors such as food, DJ, make-up artist, etc.

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
We wanted to stand out from the typical Red and Gold traditional wedding colors. We love pastel colors, and my dupatta added a touch of an autumn color because our wedding was in November.

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
Our wedding ceremony and first dance, would love to do it over again!

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
Do your best to enjoy your special day to the fullest, it will be hard to relax as a thousand things will be crossing your mind, but your big day is a moment you will cherish forever so try to be worry free that day!

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
I met my husband maybe about 5-6 years ago. But I have known about him for a very long time and to our surprise, we used to live right across from one another. My building was on the other side of the block from his, but we never really met until one day he messaged me on Facebook and said: "you know we live right across from each other" and from there on everything just went in its place. How did I know he was the one.. honestly I don't remember when was the exact time but maybe I knew he was the one from the very beginning.

So, since it was a Bangladeshi wedding, there was no formal "proposal." We always knew in the long run that we wanted to get married and when the time was right we were going to let our parents know about it. After a couple of years of being together we knew we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together so we eventually we told our families, and from there on everything just happened on its own.

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
Once we decided to get married, now it was the whole planning business. I honestly had a love-hate relationship with all the planning but at the end, it was all worth it. First and foremost, a friend of ours, Rana - from Glitz & Glamour events, runs a wedding planning service and with him around it went smoothly. He helped us throughout almost everything! and I mean everything, from decor to centerpieces, and almost everything. First, finding a venue was sort of difficult especially with the budget control and finding that "perfect place" but we eventually found our place - Castle Royal, and we loved it. Next, for Hair & Makeup - I only wanted one person and that was Samiha from Bridalrangbysamiha. I knew from the very beginning that if and when I was getting married then the only person that would do my hair and makeup would be her. For outfits, finding "the outfit" was kind of hard and not so hard. I always wanted to be a "Sabyasachi" bride and honestly, I didn't want to look anywhere else. So I contacted them right away and knew what type of dress I wanted. I wanted something light color and with "summery" feel to it. And also, our theme for the wedding was "summer floral" so with sticking to that theme I went with a peachy/blush pink color dress and my husband went to floral minty green/peach sherwani. For my jewelry, I kept it pretty simple as I didn't want it to too much. I wore a green emerald/stone kundan set with tikka and jumoor.

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
Our guests loved our wedding. With it being a year already, people are still talking about our wedding. Friends and family are still asking and looking for inspiration from our wedding. One particular thing they loved was the simplicity. we kept most of the stuff simple and light. Our stage was just a flower wall with lanterns and candles on the floor. Our centerpieces were just few baby breath flowers and two pink roses in a mason jar. I wanted to keep the centerpieces very simple and clean without those extravagant flower vases.

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
One special moment that still keeps replaying in my head is when we said our " I do's." It was one of the most special and unforgettable moment in my life and I will never forget it. We had our Nikkah completed on the same day as our reception and it was so special and lovable that till today I can't forget that moment.

Happy almost Friday, ladies!

Ijamsville, MD Tamil Wedding by Darshan Vaishnav Photography

A grand wedding ceremony deserves an equally grand celebration! That is why Nithila and Sanjog booked the exceptional Foxchase Manor to meet and greet all their guests at an elegant evening reception! To hold their festivities, the newlyweds were seated like royals in throne-like chairs with a gorgeous draping stage decorated with bright fabrics by Om Event Decorations. Nithila looked like a queen as she arrived in a turquoise lehenga and livened up her makeup with lush shades of green eyeshadows, all creation of Shruti's Beauty & Bridal Salon. While Raja Sanjog wore an amazing bespoke grey tuxedo suit to play the fun wedding games and hired the brilliant Darshan Vaishnav Photography to portrayed them on their wedding night through a series of fine art photos before and during the reception! I particularly love the charming five-tier wedding cake decorated with lovely and delicious sugar flowers that gave the soiree a sweet memento! Check all the greatness of this Tamilian wedding celebration in our full gallery!
