Boston, MA Indian Fusion Wedding by Melissa Robotti Photography

Morning Maharanis! We have such a fresh and pretty wedding to perk up your Monday. On Valentine's Day 2016, Lisa and Vamsee had a lot to celebrate. They both had recently moved to New York to be closer to their work, and Vamsee had recently been accepted to the Ophthalmology Residency Program at Upstate Medical University. They were coming up on their six year anniversary, so for Valentine's Day, they decided to celebrate in Boston, their absolute favorite city and the place where their relationship began. Lisa was so excited to head back to Boston, and planned excursions to all their favorite restaurants and hangout spots. However, Vamsee had a plan of his own! He surprised Lisa with an ultra romantic proposal that you can read all about below. It made perfect sense that Lisa and Vamsee decided to have their wedding in Boston as well. Their venue was the magnificent State Room Boston, and the lovebirds did a fantastic job melding their customs for a meaningful fusion event. The celebrations kicked off with the Christian ceremony where Lisa looked absolutely radiant in her pristine white gown by Hayley Paige and glowing hair and makeup by Vow to Style and Danielle Gasbarro. The couple were overwhelmed with emotion during their vows, and happy tears were flowing throughout the joyous occasion. For more wedding goodness, peruse the full gallery by Melissa Robotti Photography. We’ll be right back with all the Indian ceremony and reception details, which featured cake by I Dream of Jeanne and melodies by Murray Hill Talent.

Lisa and Vamsee’s Proposal Story:

In June 2015, Lisa and Vamsee had moved to Syracuse, NY to be closer to their jobs/school, Vamsee had recently been accepted into the Ophthalmology Residency Program at Upstate Medical University, and they were coming up on their six year anniversary. They had decided to celebrate Valentine's Day 2016 in Boston, still their favorite city after all these years. Lisa, the consummate planner, was excited to pick out restaurants to visit and plan get-togethers with friends and family. Vamsee however, had a plan of his own!

Vamsee was planning a surprise proposal. He wanted to propose in the city where they fell in love and where they had shared so many memories. He arranged a horse and carriage ride through BU's campus and some favorite downtown Boston spots. It had been a particularly warm winter which suited this outdoor proposal, and this romantic gesture would be a perfect way to show his love. Unfortunately, 24 hours before their planned trip Vamsee learned that the weather would be too cold for the horse and carriage ride to operate. Luckily Vamsee had a backup plan.

Vamsee and Lisa traveled to Boston that weekend with Vamsee keeping the weekend plans a secret (so she had an idea SOMETHING was going on!) Upon arriving in Boston, Vamsee suggested he and Lisa dress up to go out to dinner. They bundled up with boots, hats, and gloves to weather the cold temperatures and headed out for dinner in a taxi. Vamsee had the taxi stop at the Boston Public Garden and suggested they walk through the Garden to get to dinner. Lisa thought this was odd considering how cold it was, but the Garden was a special place for them, so she decided to follow his lead. While walking over a bridge in the Garden, Vamsee stopped Lisa and they started reminiscing about when they met freshman year. Then, Vamsee got a bit more serious with the conversation and soon he was down on one knee holding a beautiful ring and asking, "Lisa, will you marry me?" With a beaming smile and a few happy tears Lisa said YES!

Vamsee knew this moment would be special, so he had booked a photographer to secretly capture the proposal. Lisa was overwhelmed and overjoyed by Vamsee's thoughtfulness in putting everything together. It was one more special moment for them in a special city.

Aw! Adorable. We'll be right back with all of Lisa and Vamsee's reception deets!

Dublin, Ireland Wedding by Aspect Photography

Maharanis, we are so excited to bring you the rest of Asif & Afshan's special day! The grounds at the Knightsbrook Hotel venue are gorgeous, with lush lawns and weeping willow trees, and provided the perfect backdrop for the stunning couple to take their first bridal portraits. Afshan looked breathtaking in her richly embroidered bridal ceremony lehenga by the one and only Sabyasachi, ornate jewelry with emerald details, and perfect hair and makeup by Michelle Regazzoli Stone and Denise Bray. Guests attending the ceremony were greeted with traditional Irish bagpipers, and were ushered into a lavishly red and gold draped ballroom decorated to perfection by Greenstock Florists and Frog Prince Florist. Lighting was done by Entertainment Solutions, with music by the incredible DJs at Outspoken Visions Entertainment. The adorable couple were surrounded by their excited loved ones, who had a blast posing by the 'LOVE' marquee provided by Wigwam Events and eating a delectable dinner, including a mouth-watering display of fruit and dessert by The Wedding Cake Boutique. This romantic affair in gorgeous Ireland has to be one of very favorite international weddings. We hope you loved reliving Asif & Afshan's beautiful weekend! Orlando, FL Indian Wedding by Asaad Images

You have probably gathered by now that picture-perfect gold decor that blends fancy and classic makes us go weak in the knees. Suki and Jay’s reception planned and decorated by Suhaag Garden gold grandeur juxtaposed with bright hues like orange and pink. The towering stage backdrop was lit up in lavender hues, with Suki and Jay’s names projected on it. Suhaag Garden used orange drapes on gold columns for the stage setup, accompanied by decadent florals. The entire ballroom at Hyatt Regency Orlando was glistening from the chandeliers, crystal garlands, floating candles, and over-the-top centerpieces on long, gold VIP tables. Wow, what a spectacular display! Sneha chose an ethnic piece in an orange and green combination, and Kristy’s Artistry Design Team styled her hair in curls set in a low side ponytail. Tabla impressed the guests with their contemporary fusion delicacies. In addition, the couple and their squads put up incredible dance performances that turned up the entertainment factor. We could tell from Asaad Images’ stellar captures that the DJs from Volcanik Entertainment kept the dance floor packed until the end of the night! Luxuriate in this marvel of marvels by heading to our gallery!

Orlando, FL Indian Wedding by Asaad Images

Tuesday = made, and our minds = blown with Suki and Jay’s wedding celebrations! The stellar work by the planners, Suhaag Garden, in combination with their floral and decor was beyond belief. With its Floridian, tropical-inspired flair, Hyatt Regency Orlando was a quintessential venue for this lovely couple. Jay made a Bollywood style entrance with his Baraat, donning a festive white and red sherwani. Asaad Images made excellent use of the indoor and outdoor spaces at the Hyatt Regency Orlando, resulting in sweet keepsakes for these two. Suki’s bridal glory was all about quintessential and classic. She opted for an all over red ensemble with paisley prints and a blue border. Kristy’s Artistry Design Team further enhanced Suki’s look with a sleek pulled-back bun that held her veil, and a rose gold-pink smokey eye. Suhaag Garden nailed it with this one by opting for a magnificent fuchsia mandap that was nothing short of a drapery marvel. All the neatly pleated drapes were adorned with gold drapes, crystal garlands, and floral arrangements in bright hues like red and orange. We loved the combination of the dark wood and gold cushions that seated the couple and heir immediate family. Check out this gallery that is full of inspiration particularly if a bright color palette is your thing!
