Morning Maharanis! We have such a fresh and pretty wedding to perk up your Monday. On Valentine's Day 2016, Lisa and Vamsee had a lot to celebrate. They both had recently moved to New York to be closer to their work, and Vamsee had recently been accepted to the Ophthalmology Residency Program at Upstate Medical University. They were coming up on their six year anniversary, so for Valentine's Day, they decided to celebrate in Boston, their absolute favorite city and the place where their relationship began. Lisa was so excited to head back to Boston, and planned excursions to all their favorite restaurants and hangout spots. However, Vamsee had a plan of his own! He surprised Lisa with an ultra romantic proposal that you can read all about below. It made perfect sense that Lisa and Vamsee decided to have their wedding in Boston as well. Their venue was the magnificent State Room Boston, and the lovebirds did a fantastic job melding their customs for a meaningful fusion event. The celebrations kicked off with the Christian ceremony where Lisa looked absolutely radiant in her pristine white gown by Hayley Paige and glowing hair and makeup by Vow to Style and Danielle Gasbarro. The couple were overwhelmed with emotion during their vows, and happy tears were flowing throughout the joyous occasion. We’ll be right back with all the Indian ceremony and reception details, which featured cake by I Dream of Jeanne and melodies by Murray Hill Talent.
Lisa and Vamsee’s Proposal Story:
In June 2015, Lisa and Vamsee had moved to Syracuse, NY to be closer to their jobs/school, Vamsee had recently been accepted into the Ophthalmology Residency Program at Upstate Medical University, and they were coming up on their six year anniversary. They had decided to celebrate Valentine's Day 2016 in Boston, still their favorite city after all these years. Lisa, the consummate planner, was excited to pick out restaurants to visit and plan get-togethers with friends and family. Vamsee however, had a plan of his own!
Vamsee was planning a surprise proposal. He wanted to propose in the city where they fell in love and where they had shared so many memories. He arranged a horse and carriage ride through BU's campus and some favorite downtown Boston spots. It had been a particularly warm winter which suited this outdoor proposal, and this romantic gesture would be a perfect way to show his love. Unfortunately, 24 hours before their planned trip Vamsee learned that the weather would be too cold for the horse and carriage ride to operate. Luckily Vamsee had a backup plan.
Vamsee and Lisa traveled to Boston that weekend with Vamsee keeping the weekend plans a secret (so she had an idea SOMETHING was going on!) Upon arriving in Boston, Vamsee suggested he and Lisa dress up to go out to dinner. They bundled up with boots, hats, and gloves to weather the cold temperatures and headed out for dinner in a taxi. Vamsee had the taxi stop at the Boston Public Garden and suggested they walk through the Garden to get to dinner. Lisa thought this was odd considering how cold it was, but the Garden was a special place for them, so she decided to follow his lead. While walking over a bridge in the Garden, Vamsee stopped Lisa and they started reminiscing about when they met freshman year. Then, Vamsee got a bit more serious with the conversation and soon he was down on one knee holding a beautiful ring and asking, "Lisa, will you marry me?" With a beaming smile and a few happy tears Lisa said YES!
Vamsee knew this moment would be special, so he had booked a photographer to secretly capture the proposal. Lisa was overwhelmed and overjoyed by Vamsee's thoughtfulness in putting everything together. It was one more special moment for them in a special city.
Aw! Adorable. We'll be right back with all of Lisa and Vamsee's reception deets!
