Glen Head, NY Indian Fusion Wedding by NylaGray Photography

We've returned with the details on the sensational Hindu ceremony! Event architects Erganic Design coordinated everything from start to finish and provided all the exquisite wedding stationery, while Elegant Affairs Inc. was in charge of decor, transforming the de Seversky Mansion into Indian bride Paavana's dream come true! The Maharani's look was put together by the fabulous GlowZee, who not only gave her gorgeous hair and makeup, but also flawlessly styled her sari! Live thavil and nadaswaram musicans from MELA Arts Connect played in the baraat and at the ceremony as well; you can hear them in Artography's video on the Films blog! For the rest of the details, check out NylaGray Photography's photos in the full gallery!

Maharani Paavana on her wedding style:

"We really wanted a vintage, 1920s theme that would still unite the two days and the two religions/cultures - being rich and cohesive overall while still classy and elegant. The first day we envisioned as a burst of color; the second, art deco style with a live jazz band."

On the most magical moment of the wedding:

"Our first dance: we danced to 'World on a String' (at the dinner reception on Saturday); where I felt like a princess. Also, sitting and listening to the speeches was really moving for us."

On her favorite accessories:

"I wore jewelry from my mother both days - a yellow gold choker the first and a diamond choker the second, which I wore when I took off the bolero to wear the wedding dress strapless for the reception. It was a great transformation!"

Have an amazing day, Maharanis! We'll be back with another stellar wedding tomorrow!

Maharani Paavana on meeting her Raja and how she knew he was "the one":

"We were friends for several years in law school; after being friends for a few years, we reconnected through friends and have been together ever since!"

On the romantic proposal:

"David proposed by sending me on a secret scavenger hunt around New York City filled with my favorite things. First, brunch at my favorite restaurant where I was given a book about Prague (a destination we'd been wanting to go to) and a cryptogram in the book. That sent me to another bookstore... with another puzzle... which sent me to a manicure place (to get my nails done) and finally to a pier down by the West Village where David was waiting to propose."

Maharani Ranjani on how she met her Raja:

"[We met] freshman year of college, at Upenn!"

On the proposal:

"He proposed to me at our 5 year college reunion, which was the same weekend I was also graduating from my masters program - I thought I was going to a senior society gathering, but instead walked into the quad (a place on campus, where we had first decided we would start dating) and it was decorated with flowers & blown up pictures of us. Our favorite songs were playing and there were 9 handwritten notes, each explaining different things I apparently taught him throughout our relationship... it was amazing! Our families and friends apparently helped with the entire set up and it was flawless - they surprised me at the end of the proposal and he took me Turks and Caicos afterwards for an engagement moon!"

On her favorite part of planning:

"[I loved] being able to incorporate my personality in the little details!"

We'll be at the glorious reception -- featuring delicious food from Monsoon Catering -- when we return!

Visalia, CA Sikh Wedding by Global Photography

Now that our Maharani and her Raja were officially Mr. & Mrs. Sharma, it was time to celebrate with a fabulous reception at the Visalia Convention Center! The newlyweds chose vibrant colors for their decor, which gave their event a super festive feel! Our favorite details were the tall floral centerpieces by Fresno Event Group, though we also adored the cute cake toppersDJ Malhi Entertainment was the highlight of the party, however, with fantastic mood lighting and thrilling up-beat music that kept everyone dancing all night! Take part in the fun by checking out all of Global Photography's amazing photos below and in the full gallery!
