#SnaggedAMitter So begins this love story of Maharani Anu and Shawn! And, this bride knows style! After running into each other continuously on campus at LIU, this couple quickly realized that their connection would eventually led into something more deep. After Shawn took a part time job with Anu’s family, this love blossomed into romance history! The future bride and groom eventually took the next step and after Shawn proposed, it was time to set the big date. Anu enlisted Kaotic Soundz Designs to help all the planning and design and the couple decided to hold their wedding ceremony outdoors at the Untemeyer Park Gardens Conservancy and reception at the Castle Royale which also housed the colorful sangeet. One might mistake this glorious affair for another party, but, this was just the couple’s pre-ceremony event! Guests dined on crispy pani-puri appetizers catered by Royal Palace ad danced the night away. The bride herself choreographed a few dance numbers herself and sashayed in a mint green and orange lengha. Cabo San Lucas Indian Wedding by Greycard Photography

We return to the Cabo del Sol for Maharani Tina’s wedding ceremony and reception planned and designed to perfection by Destination Desi. Bridal Henna Beauty was brought on for dual duties and arrived early afternoon to glam the bride for her big day. Makeup artist Suzanne Morel was also brought to helm all beauty rituals for the bridesmaids. The bride wore a stark burgundy and gold velvet lengha with matching gold jewelry. The wedding ceremony was held beach side in an open blush pink and cream mandap designed by VVRPRO. After the gorgeous ceremony commenced, it was party time! The open quarters of the Cabo del Sol not only is engulfed with tropical romance, but serves as an excellent venue to host a party facing the Mexican waters. The groom only had one request and that was a rocking dancefloor! DJ Ricardo brought the rhythm to this party with a one of a kind platform that epitomized the saying “the dance floor was lit up.” DJ Skillz from DJ Riz Entertainment brought Bollywood infusion to the Mexican waters! Our Platinum Guide member always brings fusion to any wedding they DJ and is a must for a thumping dance floor! The bride danced the night away in a one of a kind blue and silver ombre lengha that has us just swooning with glee! Cabo San Lucas Indian Wedding by Greycard Photography

Happy Tuesday dolls! Today in our Platinum Guide vendors blog we have a special treat for you all. Think clear beaches, tropical drinks and yummy Mexican and Indian food! Here at Maharani Weddings we have discovered that destination Indian weddings are becoming a thing in the South Asian community. Maharani Tina knew that she wanted to switch it up a notch and opted for a non traditional wedding with a twist in palate design. For her sangeet night held at the Sheraton Grand Los Cabos Hacienda del Mar (perfectly situated in the heart of Cabo), Bridal Henna Beauty was brought on to spearhead all the henna festivities. One of the biggest hurdles of planning a wedding many miles away is securing a reliable and great wedding planner. Destination Desi has planned and designed numerous wedding celebrations and this wedding has certainly not been an exception. The team put together an extensive vendor list that helped Tina’s dream wedding come true. Founder Aimee Monihan has truly made magic in Mexico for this bride! John Nam of Greycard Photography was brought on to capture all the memories that can you find in our gallery.

Dallas, TX Indian Wedding by 1 Cinema Productions

Welcome back to Prachi's royal Indian wedding affair at the Magnolia Dallas Park Cities Hotel. You know you hired the ultimate wedding planner when your guests proclaim how organized and timely your series of events flowed! Navi Kaur of K.I. Weddings made sure that everything went smoothly and did a superb job at that. For her final revel, the bride donned an over the top, champagne wedding gown that was fit for royalty. With an elegant updo and a dewy makeup glow festooned by Sarah Aasif, this bride was ready for her majestic affair. Speaking of royalty, Prashe Decor swung their magic wand transforming the spacious ballroom into a purple and gold haven. With specialities such as palak paneer and methi matar malai, the natural catering service to feed hungry guests had to be Maharaja Palace. After fueling up, guests couldn’t keep themselves off the dance floor with the gyrating beats of G2 on the turntables. The guests were treated to wedding cake from Nadine of ChezNadin as they celebrated into the wee hours of the night. 1 Cinema Productions proved to be a triple threat with ensuring that the live action was caught on film, provided the photo booth and snapped all the images you can find in the gallery.

Prachi spills more details on her event!

What did your guest particularly love about your Wedding?

I think the guests from out of country (India) were impressed by how timely and well organized it was! Our local guests were also pleasantly surprised by the punctuality! The fact that both of our families are very big on being on time and having a wedding planner had a big hand in it. The most compliments we got in the end were for how absolutely elegant the entire affair was.

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?

Yes! The moment when during our first dance my husband (who is Gujarati and knows very little to no Hindi) surprised me by memorising all of the lyrics and sang them to me. He sang with so much passion and love that everyone noticed it and mentioned it afterwards!

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?

Yes. A few things I will make sure my younger sister also does before her wedding day: Try on the wedding dress, wedding shoes and jewelry and walk around in it (even if it's only around the house) for some time so you can be sure your wedding dress isn't too heavy for your own body weight, your shoes don't kill your toes with a toe ring in it and that your earrings actually fit your ear piercings! Also, at the end of the day, no matter what goes wrong (because believe me, unexpected things happen) just remember that so many people came just for you, to shower you with love and blessings!

We hope your 2017 is coming off with a fab start! See you tomorrow!

Dallas, TX Indian Wedding by 1 Cinema Productions

For Maharani Prachi, she knew what love on first sight encompassed the minute she had laid her eyes on Shani. In the bride’s own words, “the rest was history.” Prachi knew that in order to have the wedding of her dreams she would have construct the ultimate dream team and with a stellar list of vendors, she most certainly achieved her vision. The bride’s pre-wedding ceremonies began with a colorful mehndi night with none other than Henna by Alpa gracing the bride and her guests with intricate henna designs. In just a couple of sleeps it was time for the bride to get ready for her big day with makeup artist Sarah Aasif by her side. Prachi’s wedding lengha was a multifaceted designer piece in shades of pink, yellow and gold. Donning an oversized nathni, this Princess was regal indeed. The wedding ceremony took place at the Magnolia Dallas Park Cities Hotel where Prashe Decor went above and beyond bathing the venue with ornamentation that epitomized sultry and class. Planning and design wouldn't be completed without the perfect wedding planner and Navi Kaur of K.I. Weddings proved to once again amaze the masses with her groundwork skills. How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?

He was my orientation leader and I met him on my first day of medical school. He was standing in front of 250 students so comfortably telling jokes and making everyone laugh. Suddenly, I had a thought cross my mind, "I wonder what our story will be..." At the time, I was really shocked why I even had that thought. I mean, I hadn't even spoken to him yet! And 4 years later, here we are...married, and doing residency together - luckily in the same city, same program. I couldn't have asked for more.

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!

It was my parent's anniversary and our family had come to visit us from India. Shani had told me that his friends from his college days had come into town that day and wanted me to go to lunch with them. He arrived and of course I was still getting ready upstairs so Shani spent some time meeting my family from India, none of whom had a clue of what was to come either. Unexpectedly, there was a knock at the door and I ran to answer it only to be shocked by the sheriff standing in front of me. He asked who the car outside belonged to while pointing to Shani's car. I didn't say a word and then he proceeded to ask me if anyone named "Shani" was in the house. My heart sank. He pulled out a warrant from his pocket with Shani's name it. He told me a horrific story of a hit-and-run accident that ended in a fatality that Shani was involved in and asked to come inside. Just then, I slowly started to close the door and contemplated telling Shani to run out the back door, but it was too late. Shani was already behind me and the Sheriff had let himself in. The Sheriff proceeded to tell us that Shani was being arrested and then things start to become a blur. I got a reality check when my mom asked me again to go with Shani as the Sheriff was walking him out of the house. The moment I got outside, I looked up and all our close friends and Shani's family were outside holding up a "Will You Marry Me?" sign. I looked back at Shani and he was down on one knee holding a ring. The rest is history.

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.

We started with picking a venue and wedding planner at the same time. I found Jignasa Patel of Ki Weddings, met with her and liked what she had to offer especially considering my fiancé (at the time) was 7 hours away and I would be traveling a lot for rotations during the last year of my medical school. Arranging meetings and coordinating small details was much easier after getting a wedding planner, Navi Kaur who became our planner from Ki Weddings. I ended up getting my sangeet outfit from an account on instagram and my reception outfit from online! I coordinated details of it over facetime, many times it was in the middle of the night since the website was based out of India. It was a big risk and a little scary no doubt but I was very happy with the final products! For makeup, my friend referred me to Sarah Asif. I saw her work on instagram and was impressed by it. She was one of the first people I booked, almost 10 months in advance!

Decor: I wanted something elegant and simple so I went with white and gold for the wedding ceremony and added purple to it for the reception for an added touch of royalty.

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?

I got my wedding dress in Chicago. I liked the design on a lehnga I saw but I knew I wanted it with a non-traditional color scheme. How the idea of yellow, coral and pink tones together came to me, I can't say! I was very happy with the final result.

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?

Almost all of it was enjoyable because I got to spend a lot of quality time with my mom and sister during the process. Luckily my mom stayed home from work almost the whole year before the wedding to help me plan it and my sister is a master at time management and made time to go with me despite full time college and 2 internships! One of my favorite times was coming up with the father-daughter dance with my dad while my mom would play music for us. We had so many moments of uncontrollable laughter as I tried to teach my dad simple dance steps that he would keep getting wrong over and over (although he did it perfectly on the day of the reception since he was practicing even the morning of the wedding.

Coming right up is the wedding reception and with G2 on the dancefloor, this is one party you won’t soon forget!
