Irving, TX Indian Wedding by Epique Cinema

We are glad that you are back! In this opportunity, we will show you the final event of Shaily & Deep's beautiful wedding festivities, and you, my lovely maharanis, will love it! We must begin telling you that Shaily, our maharani from today, stole every single sigh from everyone just with her presence. A stunning mix between the style of Makeup and Hair by Pooja, the bridal fashion from Gauri, the fantastic mehndi art from Samira's Henna Designs, and of course, the glamorous jewelry from Bharat Jewels were the perfect combination for an ideal look. The Westin Irving Convention Center at Las Colinas hosted the reception of this fantastic wedding. Divine Décor of Dallas perfectly decorated every single space of this great venue and created a magical environment. They flaunted their creativity with a heavenly vibe at the dance floor, well-mixed ornaments, and perfect centerpieces that presented a luxury scene. Such talent! This was an unforgettable party, filled with fantastic lights and music from DJ Riz Entertainment, who made sure to create a memorable night. Everyone danced, laughed, and enjoyed every single part of this incredible event. We are lucky to have all of the captures from Epique Cinema. Welcome back, ladies! As promised, on this installment, we will be showing you the end of this magical story. So get ready to dive into this ocean of love between Roshini & Jimson. The day started with a wow-worthy ceremony at the incredible Sacred Heart Monastery that added beautifulness with its grand murals, arches, and columns. What a perfect place to celebrate their love. Everything was perfectly trimmed and well organized, and there's no doubt that our lovely duo made the perfect choice by trusting the talent of OnTime Events, who made sure that everything flowed according to our couple's vision. It was just great! After the magical ceremony, all guests attended the formidable VIP Country Club for an unforgettable evening reception. The hall was decorated in such a perfect way by Stylish Events, who managed to create an elegant environment with luxury ornaments and well-mixed lights. What a better way to give a conclusion to this fantastic event than with an epic party created by the fantastic work of Volcanik Entertainment who, with their well-selected music made everyone dance all night long. Such an epic night! Delicious food, emotive speeches, and fantastic choreographies were the extra ingredients of this magical night. How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
We met in Manhattan during my second year of residency and connected instantly. On one of our first dates we hung out for over 14 hours adventuring all throughout the city from museums to restaurants to bars, Jimson tells me he even skipped a wedding he had the next day so we could keep the date going. After our first month of dating, Jimson told me we were going to a gala and handed me “Tickets to Hogwarts - Platform 9 3/4” (he knew I loved Harry Potter). He then brought me to the Whispering Wall in Grand Central Station and asked me to be his girlfriend. I, of course, said yes, and he handed me an acceptance letter to Hogwarts. Not only did I get a boyfriend that night, but I got accepted into Hogwarts! That’s when I thought to myself that he could be “the one”.

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
I went on a vacation with my family to Greece and had invited Jimson to join me. He told me that he was too busy with work and wouldn’t be able to make it to my disappointment. Unbeknownst to me, he secretly flew into Santorini for the last part of our trip for 48 hours and planned a surprise engagement proposal with my siblings. On the day of the proposal, my siblings convinced me that we should do a family photo session. When we arrived, the photographer handed me a secret note with a password that would open a Cryptex (think Da Vinci code). The password to the Cryptex was “Always” – a reference to one of our favorite scenes from Harry Potter and the way he used to sign all of his letters to me. I kept thinking the entire time, “There’s no way he’s here in Santorini, he’s in America!” As soon as I opened the Cryptex, Jimson appeared out of nowhere and surprised me with a Golden Snitch shaped ring box (to complete the Harry Potter theme) and proposed!

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
We had 7 hidden Harry Potter elements throughout the day of the wedding and challenged our guests to find them - it was a fun way to engage with everyone while we were running around during the wedding. They were: my mehndi, our cake topper, a symbol hidden in our wedding program, Jimson’s socks, our wedding planner’s brooch, a Hogwarts acceptance letter from one of our first dates, and the Golden Snitch he proposed with.

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
The moment we won’t forget is when we walked onto the reception floor for the first time with our bridal party waiting for us and with our family and friends standing and cheering. You could feel the love and support in the room and it made us realize how blessed we were to have such a great and loving village behind us.

For events other than your ceremony, please tell us as much as you would like about the decor, style, dances, and all the special details.
We had our bridal party enter as part of a choreographed dance. My sister-in-law Shingari runs a dance studio (instagram: @Shingarirhythm), and was able to coordinate all 20 of our bridal party members into a synchronized Bollywood dance. Everyone was raving about how different and energizing it was to see the bridal party come out to a dance.

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
Start planning as early as you can! My husband is a great planner and so he had pushed us to do a lot of things earlier than needed, but that was a game changer, because it resulted in our wedding week being a lot less stressful thanks to the early planning.

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
I don't think there was ever really an "aha moment" of when I knew he was the one. Neill and I first met 14 years ago during a local Garba event. It was not exactly love at first site. Our relationship evolved constantly and we had even tried dating in the past, but it didn't exactly pan out the way we expected and we both realized maybe we would be better off as friends. In 2016, Neill couldn't hide his feelings anymore and explained how he had been feeling about me. It took a little while of dating again to see just how perfect we were together. He was my best friend, and we both knew everything about each other - the good, bad, and ugly - and not despite that, but because of it, taking the next steps in our relationship felt so natural. I feel like such a cheeseball when I say it, but it was always Neill.

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
I will be completely honest, Neill tried to plan everything as a surprise, but I saw it coming from a mile away. I am quite possibly the most annoying person to surprise. He ended up taking me on a trip to Utah and after all the incessant questioning, I pretty much figured out what was up. It was however some of the most beautiful scenery I have ever experienced. It was truly a winter wonderland.

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
When I was younger, I always envisioned myself as a modern, non-traditional bride. Color schemes of pastel or white were always in the back of my mind. As I got older, I saw the beauty in more traditional designs and patterns and was drawn to those as well. I think my bridal lengha embodied my personality perfectly. I ended up going with a subtle off-white base, with rich, gold and pearl handwork. Each border was an ode to each one of my parents and Jigya (the designer) beautifully fulfilled my wish of fitting in the names of my grandparents who have passed and could not be with us to celebrate. I decided to add a pop of my favorite color, a bold, emerald green with a traditional bandhni design with pearls and small mirror-work, to round out my dream of a modern, yet traditional bridal outfit.

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
My favorite parts of the planning process would be seeing it all come to fruition and all the feedback and reactions from your family and friends. All the sleepless nights trying to communicate with my designers in India, and countless hours researching and organizing every little detail is all worth it when you get to experience all your hard work with all of your loved ones.

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
Something that was a truly unforgettable moment for me was walking down the aisle. I think it is something that every little girl thinks about growing up and to be actually in the moment, it is kind of surreal. For me personally, I did not know how my wedding would be. Being a child of divorced parents is not anything new for most brides in the US. But, in our culture and "society", it is rarely seen that both sides come together for times like this. Growing up, I never knew how exactly my wedding would pan out. Would everyone really be able to work through their differences? How would I get everyone in the same room without it being awkward? However, during our engagement and wedding planning, all four of my parents (both being remarried), worked seamlessly together and were honestly one of the biggest support systems as a whole for me. As I walked down the aisle, I saw not only my future husband, but all four of my parents and siblings, standing there waiting for me. It was honestly one of the most emotional moments of my life.

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
The worst thing I did was over-analyze things I had no control over. Plan the heck out of your wedding ahead of time, and as you get closer --- LET. GO. (Sidenote: use Google docs which auto-saves so you don't lose your ENTIRE mailing list that took a week to complete because your laptop decided to restart before saving.)

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?

I met Giorgio during our residency, we were very good friends initially and it wasn’t until a year and a half later that our relationship began. I knew he was the one after seeing how persistent, sweet and caring he was.

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
Giorgio surprised me with a hot air balloon ride and proposed hundreds of feet in the air. I wasn’t expecting it all and was so excited!

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
The run around was a struggle but me and my mom went everywhere and figured it out. I also knew a lot of people who were married already so they gave a lot of great advice.

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
My family and I took a trip to India and within 2 weeks we finalized invitations, favors, jewelery and all my outfits! It was hectic and not easy, but we had a lot of amazing help from family and we were able to get through it. My wedding outfit was customized by Ejaaz Couture and reception outfit was customized by Shyamal and Bhumika.

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
Weddings really bring everyone together. It was an excuse to hang out and maintain more frequent contact with all my friends and family.

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
Food and music!

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
The both of us worked really hard on our first dance, we did a slow dance which transitioned into a Spanish song which then further transitioned into a full blown Bollywood song and dance. The group performance that our friends and family put together was absolutely my all time favorite moment of the wedding.

For events other than your ceremony, please tell us as much as you would like about the decor, style, dances, and all the special details.
Our bridal party and family prepared a dance segment where people came out in segments. The performance started off with a video taped dance of my grandparents and then transitioned into a full dance performance by family and friends. It had all our favorite songs from growing up to present day.

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
Don’t stress too much about the small stuff, the day comes and goes so fast. Focus on the people and moments instead of getting caught up with decorations, and small mishaps that are bound to happen. There’s always going to be something that you felt could’ve gone better but don’t worry about all that, just have fun with your new spouse and take in the fact that all your friends and family are here for you!

I hope you are ready because the second installment of this lovely union is just around the corner!
